Hi all,
I'm having WinCE 5.0 and WinCE 6.0 (With VS 2005 SP1) on separate
partitions with .NET 1.0 and 2.0 installed. Now i need to install Windows CE
4.2 in my PC. So i want to know, whether i can simply install it in a
separate partition or i've to do something before installing.

When reinstalling CE 5.0 some months back, i got some issues
regarding core con connectivity, but i have solved that.

Thats why i'm afraid whether i'll get some problems after
installation??? ( Then i've to reinstall all the three :( )What i've to do???

Regards,
Mekas :)

Put it on a different PC, or use a VirtualPC session. You'll run into lot's
of problems installing OS versions out of order (4.2 after installing 5.0 or
6.0), and it isn't supported. Even installing them in order causes
problems, most apparent between CE5 and CE6.

Thanks for the reply....

Actually i've to put 4.2 in the same PC in which 5.0 and 6.0 are installed.
Other than corecon connectivity problems, what are all the problems will
occur. Mostly i dont need corecon facility, since i'm using Compact flash for
booting the image.

Whether the .NET CF will malfunction???

Uninstalling 5.0 and 6.0 and then installing 4.2 will cause any effect???
But this the last option, since reinstalling all is the toughest one.

Regards,
Mekas :)

I think it is mainly a tools issue. The OS itself should be fine. You'll
probably break the tools (all connectivity) for CE5 and CE6.
