hi, i'm trying to test the windows ce net on my via epia mini-itx platform,
i've build the platform, but now i don't know how to use the nk.bin it
created to install the operating system, my epia comupter currently has
windows xp installed and i wish to install the ce along with it.
i tryed to use the download with ethernet but, in the configuration window
for the ethernet i don't get any devices. but the two computers are linked
via a small home network so i've copied the nk.bin file to the epia empty
partition, what should i do now?
i've read somthing about using WebInstall but my evaluation version doesn't
have any utilities folder.

thanks in advance , Tal.

The list of devices in the Ethernet configuration is populated when eboot
send out BOOTME packets, so open the configuration then start eboot. Or you
can type the device name/ip address in.

In PB Help there is a nice How To for this. Look in Contents\Getting
Started\Platform Builder Tutorials\Tutorial: Using Platform Builder with
CEPC

If your are booting from a floppy with eboot on it you have two
options. You can boot over ethernet. In this case you must open the
configuration dialog in PB and, if you've never selected a device, it
will be empty. Reboot your target and after a short while the target
will broadcast BOOTME packets and should appear in the dialog. Close
the dialog, tell PB to connect to the device, and then reboot your
target.

You can also boot from the NK.BIN file you copied to the hard drive.
To do this you must modify the autoexec.bat file on your floppy with
the path to the NK.BIN. The partition with the NK.BIN must be FAT16
or FAT32.

You still have to boot from the EBOOT floppy. This is where the
autoexec.bat file is. It is running DOS and will not recognize a NTFS
partition. You can also boot DOS from you hard drive but it will take
a little more setup.

look for the line "loadcepc /v nk.bin" in the autoexec.bat and replace
it with "loadcepc /v d:\nk.bin".
