Hi every body

I built an Internet Appliance platform in IXDP425 with these soft wares:
1-Media player with it's coded.
2-RDP
3-Internet explorer

My platform was hive based registry

Its size was more than 14 MB.

So I decided to remove RDP and change it to Ram based registry,
although I needed both of them but after doing these changes its size
became 13.7 MB and again it didn't fit on IXDP425 flash memory.

My question is how I can able to reduce the size of my image?
How can I able to compress the file such as codecs, â?¦?
Some of components don't have a check box for compression.

Please help me.

Well, you're going to have to address the big pieces of the OS, not little
things like codecs. How much space do you have?

Intel suggested that your image size mustn't be more than 10MB but when I use
it it works with image size 13 MB but it doesn't work with more than it.

Because the layout of the 16MB flash is as follow...
1) first MB is for Bootloader and its parameter
2) Last 5MB is used for FMD
so intel suggest the OS image must no more than 10MB

if your FMD driver is only for Hive-based registry you could reduce the FMD
size to about 1MB,
therefor you will have more space for your OS image.
