The fact that you've set Greek localization does *not* mean that all of the
necessary strings, resources, etc. actually are localized in Greek (that
would be a huge job for the small Windows CE team at Microsoft and we'd get
a new CE version about once every ten years, instead of every 18 months).
It seems to me that some of the fonts that come with CE, even for the
English locales, have the Greek characters in them, although it's possible
that they aren't in the expected Unicode character positions for actual
Greek text entry. If none of your fonts have a complete alphabet, you'll
have to add another font which you buy from a typography company and which
has the characters you need in it. This would go in every device.

As I said, it's also true that not every string and resource (dialog), have
been localized into Greek, either. There are companies that do nothing but
this sort of localization and I'm sure that, if you will be selling enough
devices, they would be happy to help you for a large fee. Otherwise, you
have to follow the instructions for localization (if you want the Start menu
to have a suitable Greek name).

Thanks Paul for your brief explanation.I have one more doubt.I localised my
application for Japanese locale. At that time i added some of the Japanese
fonts which are available under the Locale specific support but for Greek and
Russian i dont find any specific fonts available.

Does it mean that Platform builder inherently has supporting fonts for
them.So getting fonts from a third party vendor is the only solution or I
have to try with any other option. Then why Platform builder under the locale
tab has the Russian and Greek checkboxes.

Kindly give your suggestions as this issue is very critical for us.

Platform Builder includes what it includes. I'm not an expert in any
specific localization. Maybe the fonts are there to display a nice Russian
or Greek UI and maybe not. If not, you'll have to find, purchase, and use
your own to achieve what you're trying to achieve. You are the designer of
your device, not Microsoft. You are ultimately responsible for how it looks
and how it works. You can see, by doing a build of the OS localized for
either of those locales, what fonts will be included and there's a list of
fonts in the catalog which you can include, if they aren't included
automatically. Any TTF font viewer will allow you to look inside the font
file and see what characters are present.

Everyone's issues are very critical for them.
