    - Send files via Infrared Hi, I would like to know how to send files via infrared? From "menu->File->Send To", I can just send to desktop and my documents. I have included the IrDA, SIR, OBEX components to my OS design.     - Problems with ISR16550.dll Our custom SH4 based hardware (CE.NET 4.2 OS) has an ST16C554 quad UART connected. We have this working correctly using the standard COM16550.dll driver supplied by MS (we have done some minor changes to the PDD code in com16550.c to get it to work with our hardware, but nothing major). I am now attempting to use the ISR16550.dll "high speed" serial driver, but am not having much success. I have added the appropriate reg entries, and added the call to NkCallIntChain() in the OAL ISR code (I basically copied the assembler source code from Aspen that makes this call). I have initially enabled (in the registry) only one of the four UART ports to use the installable ISR (ISR16550.dll), in order to compare performance with the other ports. The test code I am using attempts to transmit 200 bytes from the port with the IISR to one of the "normal" ports, via a loopback cable. There is no hardware or software handshaking, and timeouts are all set to zero. This test works fine if I don't use the IISR, but not when I enable it. What appears to happen (determined by stepping through the code with the kernel debugger) is that the 200 bytes get loaded into the IISR tx fifo correctly, and some of these (12 bytes) get received by the other serial port.     - touch screen problem Hi, I'm using Sandgate BSP variant. I'm adding touch screen driver. My driver is working properly, I can get correct touch coordinates. The problem is to open start menu I have to tap on top. I mean if I tap on bottom, cursor is on top and vice versa.     - Hive-based registry problem Hi there, I am running CE5, using hive-based registry and persist registry on hard disk. Everything works fine until I installed a new nk.bin. It seems to me a new build nk.bin won't load the registry file stored by old nk.bin. Is that true? How CE5 decide to give up persist registry file?     - Adding features doesn't work For a reason there is not any longer possible to add Catlog listed features from My_BSP to My_New_Platform. (It works fine for the WinCE 5.0 MinestoneII BSP.)     - Adding a display driver doesn't work We are using PB .NET 4.2.on a Xscale based platform. We have all our drivers under Catalog -> Third Party -> BSP's -> <platform name> -> Device drivers. We started with a Tiny Kernel for our platform, and now we are trying to add a LCD display. First we added the CoreOS service for the display, and it added PCMCIA, Power Button, Serial and USB device drivers, but NOT the display driver, which we actually need. If we manually try to add the Display device driver, it gets the red cross, saying "exclude from build" and we are not able to change it. What are we doing wrong?     - ClearTypeSettings registry key I want to add ClearType support but I got a BGR LCD display. I tried setting the registry key HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings NativeOrientation = 180 The fonts are still rendered using RGB order. Is there any way to make ClearType font rendered in BGR order?     - PB 4.2 - KdStub I have an image that runs in Passive KITL mode. It evens connects to PB when hitting an exception. Is it possible to connect to PB again after disconnecting? When I hit Disconnect, a messge box warns me about disabling KdStub before disconnecting. However I don't know how to do that.     - USB Flash Drive Problem Hello all, When I plug my USB flash drive into my CEPC I get a dialog box on the CEPC that asks me to specify the driver for the device.     - FMD problems I'm struggling with a problem with an FMD. The area mantained by the FMD/FAL driver is 16 meg with 256K blocks. I've set that up to be 504, 512Byte sectors with the 8Byte sectorInfo at the end of each block with 64 unused bytes at the end. It seems to work fine until I fill over half of the disk. At that point in time, it looks like the compaction thread runs and erases the space at the front of the drive which has been erased. If I try another write, it continues to the next sector in the second half of the drive, but something has gone wrong after the sector erases. The FMD_WriteSector or any of the FMD_xxx functions runs without error, but the high-level function seems to lockup. I tend to end up with infinite write cycles, or no FMD_xxx functions call, but the windows explorer locked up. I haven't gone over to make a debug build, but I'm wondering if this triggers any suggestions already. Does the compaction thread run at a 50% watermark or is that a red flag that I've set something wrong ? I don't have problems with another FMD that has 128K blocks. Is that the only size supported ? I've seen postings involving #blocks * sectors/block must be a multiple of 256. I do meet that requirement. CE 5.0 with QFE's through 2005Q3. Tag: Flash USB with Self Powered error Tag: 77698

    - How to fix build error "Bad directory prefix"? Hi, I want to build an application in PB5.0. The souce code is debugged in eMVC first and it works fine. How I want to move it to PB5.0 in order to add some features that need talk with hardware(USB port). What I did is, first create a platform (built and tested, it works fine). Then create a new project under this platform. And use "Add files..." to add the source files. Configure the project and then build. The source code itself has the directories like: xxx.c xxx.h \lib1\... \lib2\... When I build the project, I get error: "Bad directory prefix: lib1\xxx.c." Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I know if I move all the source file from lib1 and lib2 directories into root directory, then it will work fine. But it really is not what I want. I was thinking of writing a guardian program to ensure that the driver (.dll) was loaded but how would I go about doing this? How do I walk the process table in windows CE 5.0? Of course the guardian program would be loaded at startup via the init registry key. However, when I tried using a normal CF-card(memory), it was able to read the corresponding information from the Slot address.However, since the EBOOT is not capable of downloading an OS image from the CF-cards which are not NE2000 compatible, it is not able to download the image. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem,where the normal CF-card is working but the CF-LAN card is not working ... ? And I have set the device to obtain the IP address through DHCP. After downloading the ROM to two ADS boards, a window logon screen appears and I tap cancel. I can see the IP address in the second screen. Then I type in the IP address of the other device and tap "Dial" button. The device is going to contact the proxy server. I think it is try to connect the SIP proxy server but I don't have one. Can I connect two devices by peer-to-peer without using any proxy server? If can, how to achieve this goal?     - Converting .img to .nb0 to recover a 'bricked' Axim Hi all In an attempt to recover an out of warranty dead Dell Axim X50v I'm trying to discover the differences between the Dell downloadable ROM .img file and an .nb0 raw file. Here's a picture of the start of the latest A05 ROM .IMG file in ultraedit :- http://tinyurl.com/7wmqe ..and here's another example from the .IMG file for the WM5 upgrade :- http://tinyurl.com/ckm4b Now I know that the header in the IMG files (before the zeros) contains information about ROM version and language to prevent downgrading or cross flashing to another language version. What I'm wondering is if I remove the header from an IMG file including the leading zeros, will I end up with an NB0 file? If it's not quite this straightforward then perhaps someone could enlighten me? Of course, I need an .NBO (and possible a .CRC file as well?) in order to boot directly from an SD card and force the ROM onto the currently inoperable Axim. I can't sync to the PC and update the firmware in the usual manner due to the unit being out of service.     - USB on Au1100 Hi! I'm currently trying to debug USB on an AMD Alchemy board, derived from the DB1100. The problem is that when I enable the USB controller (setting bit2 of usbh_enable) the system freezes. It's not like I couldn't write to it at all, earlier writes succeed, it is really this single bit that causes the hard lockup. The debugger connection then gets lost and after a few seconds a window pops up telling me a timeout was reached and asks me if I want to terminate the connection. I already tried to mimick the behaviour of CE4.2, copying over every single bit of possibly related setup that I could find, but to no avail. My last idea would be that activating the controller might activate an IRQ which confuses the system in some way, but I don't know how I would check that.     - IME (MSPY2) Problem? Dear all: I am working on WinCE 4.2. I have included a Chinese IME (MSPY2) - Simplified Chinese, PinYin method, together with its database (1.7MB). There is a status window provided by MS appeared when I open pword.exe. The situation: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/auronc/IME.jpg But, when I open other application which require inputting, the status window doesnt appear and therefore, I couldnt input any Chinese characters; I only can enter plain English characters. I am a USB host driver maker. And now I run into a SAMSUNG's 128MB flash
USB, which Configuration Descriptor.bmAttributes=0xC0 (Self Powered).
Obviously 0xC is wrong and it should be 0x80.

The problem is that Window2000 can configure it and offer power to it. So, I
wonder How should I configure it?
