I have migrated "my "old 4.2 version of the XSC1BD BSP to 5.0.
This was done the following way:
I got a new XSC1BD BSP for 5.0 without any ".cec" file. I imported the 4.2
(old) version of my ".cec" file into WinCE 5.0 by usage of "Manage Catalog
Items". All looks fine, but when I do drag/drop of features from the Catalog
to my Workspace nothing seems to happend. The feature never appeares in my
Workspace. This is what the output window says when I drag/drop the "XSC1BD
Serial" feature:
Updating the feature and driver list for your platform.
Added the Storage Devices driver to the platform.
Added the Full C Runtime feature (SYSGEN_FULL_CRT) to the platform.
Added the Standard I/O (STDIO) feature (SYSGEN_STDIO) to the platform.
Added the String Safe Utility Functions feature (SYSGEN_STRSAFE) to the
platform.
Added the Serial Port Support feature (SYSGEN_SERDEV) to the platform.
Added the PNP Notifications feature (SYSGEN_FSADVERTISE) to the platform.
Added the Power Management (Minimal) feature (SYSGEN_PMSTUBS) to the
platform.
Added the Device Manager feature (SYSGEN_DEVICE) to the platform.
Added the Memory Mapped Files feature (SYSGEN_NKMAPFILE) to the platform.
Added the Message Queue - Point-to-Point feature (SYSGEN_MSGQUEUE) to the
platform.
Added the Compression feature (SYSGEN_NKCOMPR) to the platform.
Added the Storage Manager feature (SYSGEN_STOREMGR) to the platform.
Completed the feature and driver list update successfully.

Any idea on how I can solve this is highly appreciated?

The function of the CEC file has changed considerably in 5.0. Read the
5.0 help for info on changes. The help provides the reasons for why your
4.2 CEC file doesn't work, but it does not offer enough detail for how
to convert to 5.0. Look in google groups for that info.
