    - Disabling system cursor in Windows CE 6.0 I'm trying to disable the system cursor as my system uses a touch screen (ELO Touch). I have removed all the mouse components (in Shell and User Interface, and USB HID) except the one in Device Drivers-Keyboard/Mouse English which has some critical dependencies.     - traffic checking by wmp I'm using cepc bsp on CE 5.0 NMD FP. I seems to find some defect with buffering function of wmp. I directly connect a cepc device and 2003 media server with a dedicated rj45 cable. I set the buffering time to 4 seconds and start to play any streaming contents from media server. And about 4 seconds later, the contents start to play. And then I unplug the network cable between the ce device and media server for 5 seconds. Then the video stops. And I plug the network cable again, then the buffering starts. But the problem is the buffering at this point are more "4 seconds". Almost 8~10 seconds are spent. Moreover, the quality of the streamed video contents is become bad. Many frame loss are happened. This low quality play continues until dozens of seconds. Although there was no network problem ( recovered from any disconnect or heavy traffic ) there was needed much buffering time and shows low quality for a while. And at that time there was shown a cloudy or rainy icon from the wmp's status bar area although the network connection is no problem.     - setTimer/KillTimer functions Hi All, On Wince5.0 I am looking at using the SetTimer function to call my own function (i.e. passing in a NULL as the HWND handler. ) what I would like to know is where does this timer function run ? is it in the kernel or GWES I f I want to call a function say every 50ms for a short period of time I was windering if this is the way to do it?     - USB client mass storage detection problem on WINCE5.0 High, I am working on Windows CE5.0 with our own BSP for a pxa270, based on mainstoneIII one. l am trying to make work the USB client mass storage. ( I want my device be recognize as a USB mass storage device not connecting a USB key on my device). My problem is that the USB device is sometimes detected by XP sometimes not. (The fact it is occasionnally working indicate it is not a configuration problem). The problem does not seems to be related to an USB problem , but more probably to a race condition between the usb mass storage driver and the and storage manager (fsdmgr.dll). I have even found a way to make it work systematically : I use the image in debug , I change the debug zone settings only for ms2_usbfn.dll (enable "USB events"), fsdmgr.dll (Enable "Error,Events,StoreApi") and usbmsfn.dll (Enable "Error"). With those settings the device is successfully detected by XP within 5-6 seconds. If I turn off "StoreAPi" in fsdmgr.dll or "USB events" in ms2_usbfn.dll then the connexion always fail. The error I see is that IOCTL_DISK_READ command fail. But the command is rejected because the store handle seems to be invalid not because the flash cannot be read (the flash driver does not receive the read command). All these facts make me think it is not a hardware problem, but something related to a race condition between the drivers. I have seen several post concerning problem with that driver specially with the PXA270 USB function driver. I have all the QFE installed (including the mainstone BSP update on which our BSP is based). I have also compared the sources of concerned drivers (ms2_usbfn.dll, usbfnms.dll in particular) with the one found in WINCE 6.0, I found no significative difference but OTG support in WINCE 6.0 which I do not care about. Has anybody enounters a similar problem ? Do you have any clue or any idea how to investigate further the problem ? See an excerpt of the trace bellow, I have including only the trace when it works because the beginning is the same in both case the only difference is that when it works after the command IOCTL_DISK_READ finally succeed ... Despite the fact it apparently works there is stranges errors in particular the message "UsbMsFn!BOT_DeviceNotify: Failed to open store" I have made some cut in order to make the trace shorter. All related information as below: Our TV receiver chip: USB client(USB 2.0 interface); Windows CE 5.0 based product: USB host(EHCI host driver for USB 2.0); Hardware platform: AMD DB1250 evaluation board with integrated USB 2.0 host controller; Software platform: Windows CE 5.0 with all QFEs up to date; Data transfer mode: Isochronous read, 8 frames per transfer, 3 packets per frame and packet size is 1KByte; My problems is: after every transfer(24KBytes) there are about 10ms delay (from Ellisys USB analyser), which caused a poor throughput. In theory, the isochronous mode should archieve 24MByte/s(that is, 24KBytes/ms). I read the EHCI driver code released with DB1250's BSP, but I cannot find where the delay is. So I will be appreciated if someone gives me some hint. Or if you have developed USB client driver with USB 2.0 interface, how about your driver throughtput in the isochronous read mode on the Windows CE based product. I suspect maybe that delay is caused by Windows CE interrupt latency beause it occurs after every transfer completes. But I don't how to measure the latency. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!     - Can't get C# app debugging working with WinCE 6.0 Sorry for the long post! I have seen other postings about this, but haven't seen a solution to the problem, so I'm restating the problem here. I wasn't able to get ActiveSync 4.2 to connect with my target board via USB, so I'm now trying OpenNETCF's CeDbgSetup.exe tool to see if I can debug via the known-good Ethernet connection to my target. My Setup: I have successfully built, deployed to flash, and ran a WinCE OS image for my Cogent CSB737 system-on-module target board (it uses an ARM9 Atmel AT91SAM9263 CPU and also Adeneo's BSP for the CSB737). I have written a C# application using VS2005 which I'm using to test hardware features of the board, and I can deploy it to the target and run it successfully. However, even though I have installed and run CeDbgSetup.exe (available from OpenNETCF at http://community.opennetcf.com/articles/cf/archive/2007/08/31/debugging-without-activesync.aspx), I am not able to get VS2005 to successfully deploy the application's files and allow me to debug the application. Here are the steps I'm following to debug my C# application: 1. I run one instance of VS2005 for my OS Design and click "Attach To Device"; VS2005 waits to connect with my target board. 2. I power-up my target board. (I'm using KITL-over-ethernet, and can see on VS2005's Output window all the usual WinCE start-up messages as WinCE starts up.) The WinCE desktop appears normally on the target's screen. 3. On the target, I run the CeDbgSetup.exe tool, which creates some icons on the target's desktop, disables the CoreCon security by creating a certain registry key, and launches CMAccept.exe and ConManClient2.exe. So far, so good. 4. I run a 2nd instance of VS2005 for my C# project, which is targeted at the SDK for my OS Design, and targets my WinCE device. When I click the "Connect to Device" button in the VS2005 toolbar, it says "Connection succeeded." (I had previously set the proper static IP address of my target in the "Device Properties>Transport: TCP Connect Transport>Configure" menu.) Again, so far, so good. 5. When I click "Start Debugging" in VS2005, it builds my C# project successfully then attempts to Deploy it. It's communicates with the target via TCP/IP and is able to successfully create a folder under "Program Files" for the first DLL file of my application, and then it creates a (zero-length) file for the DLL, and that's as far as it gets. :-( Here are the messages that appear in the Output window of VS2005: ------ Deploy started: Project: GPIODriver, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------ Deploying 'I:\Software Projects\Temp\CSB737_TestApp\WCEThreadInterface\bin\Debug\WCEThreadInterface.dll' Deployment and/or registration failed with error: 0x8973190e. When I run Ethereal to watch the net packets during the operation, I can't tell exactly what I'm seeing, but it appears that some ACKs from the target are not being received properly at my desktop, so VS2005 gives up after a few seconds. Note that I'm using an older Linksys unmanaged hub to connect my target to my desktop, but I figure it's not causing a problem, since it has been working fine (apparently, anyway) with KITL messages. And the same hub is used to connect my desktop to the Internet for all my browsing needs, and has never caused me any trouble. This is getting to be quite frustrating, since I will definitely need application debugging later on, so I want to figure this out as soon as I can. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated! I need a much smaller footprint OS now, so I recreated another workspace with TinyKernel template and the same BSP, I added a few features from catalog manually, including minimal GWES configuration, I then clean sysgen the workspace, the nk.bin was built, but I got the following res2exe errors in makeimg. My stream interface camera driver followes 3 pin architecture and use "client unlimited" model drived from MSFT provided NULLCAM driver.     - Frame buffer memory problem... Hi all, I am working with ATMEL board, with AT91SAM9263 controller. The board is up with wince 5.0. There is some problem with the display driver. The display driver takes the physical address of the frame buffer from the registry and then, uses that location as the frame buffer. Usually a seperate RAM apart from the usual SDRAM is used for this case. But now, i am in a position to use the normal SDRAM for frame buffer memory. The display driver does the following, 1) Gets the physical address from registry. 2) Uses virtual alloc to allocate virtual memory address space for frame buffer. 3) Finally virtualcopy is used to map the allocated virtual address space to physical address space, using the address mentioned in the registry. The big problem is, how to know, the address which i am giving is a free segment in RAM or not. If the address that i mention in the RAM is not a free space, will the virtualcopy shows any error?? I am in a situation to supply the physical addresss in RAM which is absolutely a free segment as the frame buffer address. How do i do this?? At present i am using 0x23f00000 for frame buffer (Szie of frame buffer is around 1 MB, RAM start address is 0x2000 0000, i am using last 1MB of the RAM). The application calls a USB driver IOCTL to start a worker thread grabbing a fair amount of data from another embedded device (encoded video). I was curious as to where the CPU utilization for the worker thread would be attributed when monitoring with a utility like TOP.exe. Now it can work with the 1bpp mode, and display the mono BMP(1bpp) in the bootloader. The problem is: someone says can it work in the 4bpp( 16 gray). and the GPE in 1bpp maybe donot work well( learned from the newsgroup). When I put my stylus on the screen I can see in debug I am queuing sample points and the flags look correct but the all the selections occur when I lift the stylus not when I touch the screen ?     - resume debugging Hi all, Running wince5.0 my device goes into suspend but will not resume, is there a way to run a debug build with kitl through suspend and resume ? Should this "just" work or do I need to make some changes to get the debugger back up during the resume... Currently I get no more debug output and loose connection with pb. I can run my system under 5.0. but there are some drivers lost ,eg:USB_host when it is in 4.2,its environment variable is BSP_NOUSB,and it is not set,but under 5.0,it could never seen in the left catalog since it did not have a seted environment variable, so,I add an environment variable such as BSP_USB_Host by modifying the cec file,and set to 1,and also done in PB's setting. then,the USB feathers can be seen in left catalog(OSdesignView) so I do the sysgen,but after I download the nk.bin,and wanna use a USB device,the USB drivers did not work... anyone tell me why.. thank u very much.     - Can anybody help me. GPE problem . am in ce4.2.net, using smdk2410 bsp with 1bit monochrome 4BIT single scan STN. Now the hardware LCD controller can display well in 1bpp mode in the bootloader. I have to implement the GPE display driver to support 1bpp mode. I using the BSP driver. change colordepth to 1, mode-> format to gpe1Bpp, The problem is ce only display the text. and WICNE BMP logo, all the icons on the desktop cannt been displayed. and cursor doesn't display too. It seems the blit have problem. So when I change the two blit virtual function as below to call the emul lib. The problem still exist. Anyone can have advice on the 1bpp mode emul lib implement. Is there some bugs on the 1bpp mode for the emul lib? The system works fine with the ethernet driver excluded. When the ethernet driver is included ,the image boots successfully in the DEBUG version but the Ethernet adapter is not found and hence no IP. However, the USB storage driver does not work properly.     - USB Gigabit driver crashes Hi, I am trying to use the USB2.0 Gigabit ethernet adapter on my PXA270 platform. The host USB is the Philips ISP1761 chip. The host USB driver is more or less stable now with a USB stick.     - COM Library calls in Kernel mode Drivers ( WinCE 6 ) Hi All, I'm trying to make calls to COM library functions in a kernel mode driver and I got some troubles. I've tried three things: 1) When I call CoInitializeEx directly in XXX_Init, the driver can't load anymore. The DllEntry isn't even called anymore. I've noted that the driver is correctly loaded when I comment the call to CoInitializeEx. 2) I've created a DLL in which I call CoInitializeEx. Then, if I call LoadLibrary of my new DLL in an IOCTL of my kernel driver, it fails with error ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT. I've also noted that the library is correctly loaded when I comment the call to CoInitializeEx. 3) When I call CoInitializeEx and other COM functions directly in an EXE project, everything works fine.     - WLAN - Scan - Hang PB5.0 Our device has a connect blue WLAN chip connected to PXA270 thro' SPI. Our devices go in truck. When the truck is in the depot WLAN should get connected to AP in the depot. We see that our device hangs (touch screen does not work, no time update...) occasionally. We also found that the issue is happening only when the WLAN antenna is connected. Also, if we disable the WLAN adapter with external antenna connected the issue is not happening. From all this we suspect the issue is happening only when the scan opearation is in progress. When we checked with a wince debug image the debug statements stopped all of a sudden when the issue happened. No exceptions or any error statements. I added some debug statements in OEMInterruptHandler and found the interrupts are processed slow after the issue(when I connect a mouse and move it, there will be a lot of USB SYSINTR but during the issue I see only few USB SYSINTRs) I'm not sure where is the issue, whether in WZC or WLAN driver? I have a eBox2300, Vortex_86 CPU and it has 3 USB ports and i have
Telit GM862 GSM/GPRS modem. Modem has a own housing and i connect it
with USB port to XP and it is working well.
So,in The Platform Builder i chose CoreCell and i set up IMGENFORA =1.
I am building my project and Attached Device then WinCE 6.0 lunching
there is no problem but when i plug in the modem on USB port it says
Give Driver name of USB device.
And then i detached device and stop debugging
under C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM i create \Telit GM862-GPRS\Drivers then
i put XP drivers of Modem to this folder C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\Telit
GM862-GPRS\Drivers

i have just two inf files of this modem
telit.inf
gprs.inf

then i build again atached device it is same

same message again appear it say Give dirver name of USB device

Where is my fault.
can you give some explanation. if i want to use Third Party Device
like this how can i use on my Mobile Embedded 6.0
