Hi All,

I am using CE 5.0 emulator with an IP Phone template. When i attach device.
It gives following error message as pop-up:
Emulator for Windows CE could not open the Virtual Machine Network Services
driver.
Access to the external network and host will be unavailable to all virtual
machines using virtual networking. Virtual machines using virtual networking
will still be able to access other virtual machines using virtual networking.
To fix this problem, re-enable the Virtual Machine Network Services driver
on one or more ethernet adapters or reinstall Emulator for Windows CE.

How do i fix this. Due to this the emulator IP comes as 192.something
whereas the general IP of all machines and IP phone emulators on other
machines is 10.something.

I am using a Realtek 8139 ethernet adapter.

Urgent Help required

Hi Shabbir,

I'm not sure why that wasn't installed by Platform Builder along with the
emulator. But you can install it from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=DC8332D6-565F-4A57-BE8C-1D4718D3AF65&displaylang=en

This assumes you're using Windows XP or previous. I don't know if the
driver is compatible with Vista.

Hi,

It has stopped giving the popup regarding the Virtual network services
driver . However the emulator does not take the correct IP address as 10.*
instead in the debug msgs it shows DHCP failed and it takes a 169.* IP
address. It is a P4 with Realtek 8139 adapter.

The same emulator works fine on an AMD based machine having a BroadCom
netxtreme card.

Here are parts of the debug output:->
