    - Clone SipSelect Hi, Does anyone know how I can clone sipselect? It used to be an .exe, which is easy enough to clone. If I read the common makefile correctly, it now seems to be a part of commctrl; but I don't want to clone that too. So I would like to overwrite the sipselect.lib at the correct moment in the build process. The way it is now, I only have sipselect.lib files under the public/common tree, and I don't want to overwrite those files. I want to overwrite them in the cesysgen folder, but how can I tell commctrl to use my lib and not the public one?     - Problem with hot unplugging USB mass storage device Hello, I have an application that is writing data to USB mass storage devices under Windows CE 5.0 on a Kontron ETX-P3T platform. When the application tries to write data to the storage device and it's not present, I get an exception which I catch and everything is fine. But when the storage device is unplugged while the application is writing data to the device the whole Windows CE freezes and doesn't come back to life without reboot. So there seem to be problem with the drive when it get's a write command in the one or two seconds between unplugging the storage device and removing the the devices name from the Windows Explorer drive list. I don't have any experience with the underlying USB or ATAPI driver and because I didn't get any exception I can't catch this error in the application that tries to write the data. Does anyone has experience with this problem and can give me a (as detailed) hint (as possible) where to look for the problem in the drivers? Thanks in advance.     - Boot Wince in harddisk and Enable the Network Debugging I have a NK.bin in IDE and I can able to boot the Wince image successfully using Loadcepc with below command. Loadcepc nk.bin Now I want to enable the network debugging feature.What should I do for this? How to pass the arugument in the loadcepc?     - PB 5.0 building SNTP component I can't seem to get SNTP to build. When I add SYSGEN_TIMESVC_STNP, I keep getting an error where there are duplicate listings of the stubs in tsvc_dst (which gets built into TIMESVC_ALL.lib) and tsvc_stubs.     - Driver gets dwIRQ = ffffffff, sysINtr = 00000000 Hi, I have a PCI device driver that I wrote under CE 4.2. I am migrating it to CE 5.0. I followed the "how To" topic on how to create a device driver for CE 5.0. This amounted to nothing more than putting the existing souce code into the proper folder hierarchy, changing DIRS and SOURCES, adding the .reg file entries and modifying the bib file (maybe some other stuff too, but I don't remember all the details). The source code did not change. Rebuilding worked like a champ and the driver is included in the new NK.BIN. I have debug messages in my XXXInit routine showing that the "placement" is correct -- the window size for the memory map is correct, and I can read some registers mapped through the window to see that it did in fact initialize and is ready to go. However, the PCI bus enumerator seems to not be able to allocate an irq and sysintr; the values are 0xFFFFFFFF and 0x00000000 respectively. I expected this to work with no mods in the code. I am using interrupts (obviously) and DMA. Did the mechanisms for assigning resorces for either of these change significantly from 4.2 to 5.0?     - Begin Daylight Savings Time Problems Last weekend when daylight savings time began at 2:00 am April 2, 2006 we noticed high processor loading for ~20 seconds on our CE 5.0 X86 platforms. This is a bit surprising because I have disabled automatic daylight savings time handling for both the RTC hardware (Daylight Savings Time enable bit is cleared) and for the taskmanager (defined NODSTSAMPLE environment variable). Since then, I created a test app that sets the RTC to 1:59:50 am April 2, 2006, waits 20 seconds and then continuously repeats the sequence. When I run this along with the perfomance monitor tool, processor loading for device.exe is >95% for ~10 seconds then goes to 0 for the another 10 seconds. If I set the RTC so that the beginning of daylight savings time does not occur, then there are short duration small processor loading spikes that coincide with calls to SetLocalTime() in the app. There are a few things that I questions about from these observations. 1. Why is device.exe exhibiting processor loading when SetLocalTime() is called from the app? 2. What causes the large procesor loading in dvice.exe when the daylight savings begin time occurs?     - USB driver unloading I have FTDI USB-to-Serial adapters that I am using with Windows CE 5.0 on proprietary X86 hardware. Everything is configured properly and works great - when the platform is booted or the USB device is connected the associated driver is loaded and when the USB device is disconnected the driver is unloaded. But, if a USB-to-Serial adapter is disconnected while the serial port that it represents is open, then the platfrom crashes. Is there any good way to deal with this in software since we really can not prevent users from disconnecting the USB hardware? Can the USB driver be locked so that it does not unload after it is once loaded? Is there any type of notification that would signal the app to close the associated serial port immediately?     - problem , add two fat fsd driver for different sector sizes Hi all, I have modified the sample NAND flash driver. Now I can use this with 2048bytes/page flash chips , it can works well as only the fatfsd.dll used for nand . but now my problem is how to add 2 different FAT DLLs for multiple volumes with different sector sizes. The fatfsd_2.dll rename from fatfsd.dll which can work when there is only nand. The problem is when insert usb disk key, it can mount the fatfsd.     - WinCE 5.0 installation on a LAPTOP I have installed WinCE 5.0 on a laptop computer, having these characteristics: - CPU: Pentium III @ 650 MHz - RAM: 192 MB - Hard Disk: 11 GB - PCMCIA Ethernet Card (model 3COM 3CCE589ET @ 10 Mbps) These are the steps I made: - using Platform Builder I built a run-time image of WinCE 5.0 (file â??nk.binâ??) - I copied it on a CD Rom (via Ethernet was not possible, since the Card is not recognized) - I booted the computer from the floppy firstly created with Platform Builder - I launched through â??loadcepc.exeâ?? the image file â??nk.binâ?? Wince runs correctly but I have some problems: 1) The hard disk drive is not recognized, even if in the OS design I have inserted all the needful drivers and applications, as explained in the Platform Help (section â??How to Configure Hard Disk Drives on a CEPCâ??). 2) I cannot configure the OS to see the PCMCIA Ethernet Card, even if I add all the possible Network drivers. To solve the point (1) I tried to set some System Variables as indicated in the documentation (like SYSGEN_DEVICE, SYSGEN_ATAPI_PCIOâ?¦) but I had no success at all. But when I try to remove it, I get a message that an unknown platform feature requires this component. Our test app written in CF2.0 works fine A test app written using CF1.0 doesn't work (it did work on OS image which only had CF1.0 on it). I am experiencing this problem with USB keyboards: when the keyboard is left idle for a while (about 10 seconds), there seems to be an "insensitive period" of about 3-4 seconds, as if the keyboard was in a sort of "power saving" state. During this "insensitive period", only the very first key is received by the system (delayed by 3-4 seconds, of course), subsequent keys pressed or released before the system has received the first one are lost. The deley seems to affect the lower level of the USB system: indeed, on "client side" of the USB keyboard driver the keypress event is yet delayed. Here is the debug trace from the client driver, obtained by pressing and releasing the keys 'A', 'B' anc 'B' in sequence: 0x8388376c: HID Interface 0 report: 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 00 00 0x8388376c: HID Interface 0 report: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Note that the both "A pressed" and "A released" events are generated, but B and C are lost. The image includes hive-based registry settings and is successfully booting from a compact flash. It also seems that most data is correctly stored in system.hv and/or user.hv after I flush the registry by clicking "Suspend". (After rebooting my installed application appears in the "Remove Programs"-List, a saved Word document appears in the "Recent Files"-List, changes to the desktop settings like background are also stored.) But when I try to rearange the destop icons or copy a new one to the desktop (e.g. my applicationÂ´s icon) all these settings are lost after rebooting. connections.

He also mentioned that this feature can be disabled by some registry
settings.

What is the registry setting ? Can someone please share that
information.

I do not think any such registry entry is publicaly available, as it would
be a security risk.
