USB Direct connection problem

Dear Friends,

this is regarding the problem i facing in on the device. I am trying to
connect the device with PC through activesync. on the device i clicked

Control Panel --> Network and Dial-Up Connections --> Make New Connection

then selected Direct Connection and clicked Next.

then from the "Select a Device" ComboBox, i try to select the "USB Cable:"
option. but suddenly "USB Cable:" option is missing from the list.

i am unable to find where is the problem. this problem is comming after i
install the Update

"Windows CE 5.0 Product Update Rollup, December 31, 2006"

and added the .Net Compact Framework 2.0 catlog item to the platform.

can you please help me in this correction.
