    - Import fmd driver to platform builder Hi, In fact, there is a nandflash driver and there are BuildExe and FMD directories in this in my sbc's(s3c2440)cd.But it doesn't seem under bsp in platform builder.I checked .cec file of bsp.Its settings seem correct.But when i want to link this to the platform builder project file(I don't know whether or not it is necessary),i can't.Because the platform builder file's extension is pbxml, not pbpxml which cec editor requires.     - Unknown or old version of bootloader Dear All, When I load my Image By loadcepc there is a message which shows that my Image doesn't contain any Valid bootloader. So after load completes my system hangs. Here is the detail of my project. I use Win Ce 6.0 . Hardware: Vortex SX-6154(ICOP company) 1-Board Support Package: ICOP_Vortex86_60B: x86 2-Design Template: Industrial Device 3-Design Template Variants: Internet Appliance 4-All next Steps: Default options are selected 5-I Disabled All build options. I just enabled â??Enable Ship Buildâ?? AND â??Run-time image can be larger than 32Mâ?? 6-I added IMGRAM128 = 1 Variable into Environment variable list(I tried without this variable too) I compiled My project in release mode. I made a DOM dos bootable. I copied NK.BIN into DOM. I booted my system and I chose first option(Loadcepc /v NK.Bin).     - How to replace a dll... Hello, all. (currently developing a WM6 phone) I know that I can replace a dll file using ActiveSync and debug some faults. Now, I am looking for a debug point, but I can't simply replace a dll using ActiveSync. I can see the message "the file is copied" but cant see any message that I have put in. I think that there are some files that we can't change in the simple way. If any guys know about it, help me.     - Clean format of monolithic filesystem Hi, I have a running OS image that uses Intel PSM 4.0 to make some flash into a 'disk' on CE5. This is set up such that the Storage Manager AutoLoad registry section is used to load the driver. Everything works fine. However, I'd like to have a relatively simple way to return a given device to 'factory default' configuration, including deleting any shadowed files that are stored on the PSM volume, preferably without adjusting the registry, etc. and forcing a new test cycle for the OS build. Unfortunately, items loaded from the AutoLoad segment of the Storage Manager registry are not accessible as "volumes" and, as far as I can tell, can't be accessed as though they are real filesystems. I'd like to simply pass a IOCTL_DISK_FORMAT_MEDIA to the driver and be done with it (it's designed to handle that IOCTL), but I can't get a handle which I can use with DeviceIoControl() to do this. The situation is similar to trying to operate, as a whole, on the Release folder filesystem driver, which seems to suffer from this same problem. Thanks for any pointers to ways to do this. Paul T.     - CPCEnablePcmcia, SetEvent and WM_QUIT Hello all, In the deconstructor of the PCMCIA model device driver class, CPCEnablePcmcia, the event handler thread created by this class is closed with both SetEvent(m_EventList[TERMINAGE_THREAD]) and PostThreadMessage(...WM_QUIT...) function calls. Does anybody know why both methods of closing the thread were included in this public class? I've modified the code to just use SetEvent (I removed the line =93PostThreadMessage( GetThreadId(), WM_QUIT, 0, 0 );=94) and this modification still allows the thread to close cleanly and everything proceeds as expected. This closes the thread because the thread is waiting on the TERMINAGE_THREAD event in its WaitForMultipleObjects call. The reason I'm asking is that there's a stage in our device's boot process where an error occurs when CPCEnablePcmcia calls PostThreadMessage(...WM_QUIT...). I was wondering if removing this line would be a possible solution to avoiding this error. I=92m not sure what purpose this line of code serves.     - Environment variable building platform I have several projects that use the same platform. I would like to slightly change the code in the platform (with #ifdefs) depending on the PBWorkspace that I currently have open. I tried using Platform Settings, Environment, and setting a variable there which I hoped to #ifdef during compilation of the platform. But it doesn't seem to pick these up in C or CPP files.     - Breakpoint instantiation Hi All, I'm trying to debug a simple Hello World application on a phytec iMX31 board. But when I set breakpoints on myhello.cpp file, the breakpoints look like a red hollow circle with a yellow caution triangle. When I download the module to the board, the breakpoints are never active/instantiated. The application runs and it resides in the modules section of the ce.bib file. Where can be my fault that I can't set breakpoints correctly? I read many things about source path mapping, etc. but none solved my problem.     - Porting WINCE on arm9 processor Dear Friends, I have an embedded board with arm9 based 32 bit processor which has linux already ported on it. As vendor has not yet done it, I want to port wince on it. I have done required modification in the U-Boot bootloader and want to test it. I guess for that I need an wince image.     - Mounting Storage device with two physical partitions as two drives... hello, We have a storage device with two physical partitions of different sizes for which we have developed a storage driver(block driver using block driver IOCTLs ) in WinCE 5.0 and 6.0.Each physical partition has addresses starting from 0.Till now we have mounted one of the physical partitions with FAT file system and we perform read and write to that physical partition from our storage driver.Now we want to mount both the physical partitions as two separate drives during boot up itself using the same storage driver.We want FAT to manage both the partitions.I would really appreciate it if some one could give us ideas on how this can be accomplished..     - ecdjpeg.dll and CreateJpegFile Hi, I've seen there's a CreateJpegFile function "available" in the JPEG encoding DLL ecdjpeg.dll (talking about 4.2 here). Did anyone ever experience using it or playing around with this? I have a piece of code that uses CreateDIBsection and draws / writes to it, but I'd like to save the end result as a JPG file instead of the bulky BMP I currently have.     - Memory Leak I'm using platform builder 5.0 and observing memory leaks. I think it has to do with csrss.exe launching the cmd.exe that the build scripts use, but I'm not sure. At any rate, after 3-4 clean builds, my commit charge is well over 2Gb. Is anyone else seeing this? I used a .bat script to launch many cmd.exe and then close them all.     - Problems with mshtml.dll and Internet Explorer 6 Hi all, I am developping a on WinCE 5. And experiencing a lot of problems with Internet Explorer 6 for WinCE. For example I don't get any background anymore, pictures from different buttons are disaperead and so on. It looked to me like it was related to the images in the cache. So I deleted the cache, this hadn't any result. Then I deleted the index.dat from my history. And the sites all worked good again for some time, troubles started to occur again in a matter of minutes. To cancel out the cache problem I disabled caching on my CE device, this seems to work, because I don't get the error anymore, plus everything stayed in place even after a day on the same website. The drawback of this of course is that the sites stayed slow, and my bandwidth usage increased. So I turned on the cache again, and I got the same error again in a matter of minutes.     - Keyboard is not detected in WINCE 6.0 Hi all, I am working in PXA270 processor on WINCE 6.0. My USB mouse get detected and it works properly but USB keyboard not detected. When USB keyboard inserted in to USB port, first time it blinks but after that it not giving any response on image but on terminal i got messages when any key press. Is this KEYBOARD detection problem is already in WINCE 6.0?     - Stupid question about adding an application to an OS design Hi All, I have a stupid question about adding an application to my OS design in WCE 6.0. I made an OS design by using most of the default values. Now I simply want to add a "Hello World" application to this OS design and then debug it. What I have done so far is: - I started a new OS design project. Chose my settings and built the solution. I downloaded the image to the target device and it worked. - Then I created a new subproject and set it as a simple "Hello World" application. I only changed the code part to write "hello world" 3 times on the screen. - I chose "Build All Subprojects" from the Build menu. No errors. - When I tried to place a breakpoint on the MyHello.cpp file, the breakpoint symbol is a red circle with an exclamation symbol in it (I guess showing that it could not be instantiated) - I rebuilt the solution (assuming that this will put the application into the image) - I ran viewbin tool ("viewbin -toc nk.bin") and verified that MyHello.exe is in the modules section of the image file in the FLATRELEASEDIR. - I downloaded the image again to run & debug the application. And... - No MyHello.exe under windows directory of the target device!!! - If I explicitly write in the project.bib file the path of the application file on my host pc (MyHello.exe "D:\something\MyHello.exe" NK), then I can see the file under windows directory of the target device. And unfortunately I can't use Remote Tools or Run Program from the Target menu. The connectivity settings only show Default CE Device and I cannot connect to this device. (I'm using phyCORE i.MX31 with WinCE SDK, so I'm using their bootloader and I don't know what's exactly in it yet). I also wathed Mike Hall's tutorial "Introdution To Platform Builder With CE6 Beta" which simply shows the OS design and subproject creation as I did. I had experience with WCE 4.X before, but getting VS environment and WCE6.0 modifications has driven me crazy this week. I will really appreciate any kind of help here. Thanks in advance.     - Non-working of SanDisk USB Cruzer Drive with U3 Smart Technology Dear All, Test Setup: 1. TI's DM6446 Based Hardware Board 2. Board acting as USB Host 3. WinCE 5.0 and WinCE 6.0 (with all the latest updates applied) 4. Testing with different type of Mass Storage Disk Pre-requisite: The system is able to detect different USB based Mass Storage devices (Kingston, Sony, Toshiba, Transcend, and SanDisk w/o U3 Technology). Also I am able to do all the operations on the USB device without any issue. All the devices work fine on system wake-up after it is put in suspend mode. Problem: I am facing issue only with SanDisk USB Cruzer Disk with U3 Smart Technology enabled. Initially this device was not getting detected when attached. On further debugging we found that device was continuously returning STALL for the Medium Identification Command. Then we modified USB Mass Storage Class driver in WinCE 5.0 to jump this particular command and found device to be working fine. Now we are facing another issue. When the SanDisk device (with U3 Technology) is connected and working fine, we put the system in Suspend mode. Now on wake-up the device does not work. When we try to click on Device Manager or open Explorer window, USB device is also not seen. On further debugging we observed that device response to Resume command from Host Controller was getting delayed. So we put some fix in USB Host Controller for Resume command that is unless we get response to Resume command no other command request from Mass Storage client driver will be passed to the device. But after this we observe that device responds with ACK for Resume command but does not respond to Signature command. We are unable to find any reason behind this. The above problem is only observed with SanDisk USB Cruzer Drive with U3 Smart Technology. This does not happen with SanDisk USB driver without U3 Technology. We also tried to remove the U3 Technology from the SanDisk drive but no improvement was observed. The other observation was that when we connect the SanDisk USB Cruzer Drive with U3 Smart Technology on PC and check its properties through Disk Management, it shows Partition Style as Not Applicable (in Volume Tab). But other normal USB drives show that as Master Boot Record. I am not sure whether this has some relation to the problem I am facing. I am not sure whether anyone has faced similar issues.     - Changing default Icon size -- neverending topic Hi I know that this topic has been discussed many times in this newsgroup. I also read the answers, but they did not statisfy me (if there was any answer at all). So let me explain what i want to do: I try to change the size of the "flying windows" icon which is located at the left bottom in the task bar. In the source file \PUBLIC\SHELL\OAK\HPC\EXPLORER\TASKBAR\taskbar.cpp it is hard coded to the size of 16 pixels in the call LoadImage(). So I can clone the shell and modify it. But hey: I don't wanna do this for all the Icons. I think there must be another way of doing this. According to the posts, I'm not the only one who struggles with that problem. So i read all the posts, but either there was no answer or it was not statisfying. Lets make an excample: if i want to change the size of the "flying windows" icon which appears at the left bottom in the taskbar, i can do this by editing the code (or creating a clone and then edit it, of course;-) ) in the file \PUBLIC\SHELL\OAK\HPC\EXPLORER\TASKBAR \taskbar.cpp and change there the size in the function LoadImage().     - Adding support for CryptAcquiteContext I'm trying to use CryptAcquireContext() on my device (WinCE 5.00, ARMV4I) but every provider I try (e.g. PROV_RSA_FULL) comes back with the error NTE_PROV_TYPE_NOT_DEF. I've got SYSGEN_CRYPTO and SYSGEN_CERTS defined but I can't see any other components that would obviously support a particular provider. I don't care particularly which provider I use - I'm just trying to either hash a file or encrypt some data so a PC application can detect whether it's been modified or decrypt it using standard Windows functions. When this page is parsed on the server, an xml file containing UTF-8 non-English characters (e.g. Arabic, Hebrew) should be read and displayed on the browser. The problem is that instead of getting the correct text, I get a series of question marks. I used new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.xmlDOM"). And if I use the same ActiveX to read the xml on the client side (desktop Windows), there's no problem. Here's the sample ASP file that is hosted on my embedded device (WinCE 6).     - warm booting the device crashes filesys.exe Hello all, In my pxa270 based Windows CE 5.0 device, if I put a file larger than 1MB into RAM (i.e. copy a file into MyDevices folder) after performing a warm- boot the file is erased. I observed that the reason for losing the file after the warm-boot is the crashing of filesys.exe giving the following debug message. According to MSDN documents, we need 2 network interfaces: one for establishing PB:target board connectivity and the other one for CETK test. My issue is our screen resolution is 800 X 480 and everything seems to work correctly accept when I plug in our USB wireless device and the form that displays the available wireless networks comes up in the "Wireless Information" tab. If a network is encrypted and I need to click on advanced to enter the wep key, it appears that I have not buttons on the screen (the form does not recognize the current resolution and the buttons are "farther south" then the bottom of the screen. any help would be great.     - Wifi Zero Config not displayed with WinCE 5.0 I am running WinCE 5.0 with a US Robotics 5421 Wifi Adapter. When I insert the 5421 USB Adapter, I am able to see the USB80321 network icon displayed in the Network and settings window. The power green LED light is ON on the device, but I don't get the Zero Config UI. Is there something I am missing in the implementation of Wifi components in the OS build or registry? I built a debug image just by choosing the debug version from the
drop down menu. It is working fine for few minutes, after that it just
comes and stops at the KITL statement(debug statements below). I have
not enabled "Enable KITL" in build options. I'm not sure why it stops
at kitl always ?

I have enabled only the following check boxes in platform->settings-
>build options

Enable CE target control
Enable eboot space in Memory
Enable full Kernel mode

Could you guys help me on why my debug image stops at the KITL
statement ?
