    - res file editing Hi, I'm trying to modify the franch (040C) res file of the power applet in the control panel. I tried to open the res files in EVC, VS2005 and modify it.     - KITL connection for ARM 926 ejs hi, I have developed an OAL for arm 926 platform but I have done it without KITL as we had time constraint for driver devlp. I am using UBOOT of linux to download the kernel image and hence platform builder is not in any way connected to target board. Now since driver development is in progress I have been told to develop KITL connection. I have a doubt that I would like to clarify and that is it necessary to have wince bootloader to download the image to board so that KITL connection can be established, I have this issue because i have seen only i way that is by "Attach Device" by which i can connect the board and then if i use UBOOT and try to start the KITL how can the messages appear on the platform builder. Hi all, I want all your valuable suggestions on the failure of stretchBlt function on windows Mobile when i run CETK test with following commandline tux -o -d gdiapi -x218 -r2376 when I enabled the failure bitmaps in the command line I could see that there is a mismatch of only one vertical line ...     - Return value of FreeIntChainHandler() During the course of loading and unloading a driver for a board, I have come across the fact that the function FreeIntChainHandler() is returning FALSE(failed) if the ISR DLL has been linked up in the MODULES section of the BIB file. If it is in the FILES section, FreeIntChainHandler() will return TRUE(ok). This behaviour can be located in "loader.c" where DoFreeKernelLibrary() is itself returning FALSE because the module has been fixed up in the MODULES section. Now the help on FreeIntChainHandler states "When this function is called, the code associated with the interrupt handler is not unloaded. It remains in memory until the device is reset.     - How to add rotation function to display driver? [Windows CE 5.0, Sharp SDK LH7A404] My HR-TFT LCD driver works fine in portrait mode( 240*320 ). I found it in the source code that it is using GPE( not GPERotate ). I want to change it to landscape( 320*240 ) mode, but I don't konw how to do it clearly.     - TFAT registry corruption Hello, I am using a TFAT file system with I am currently power-cycling to test its reliability. It has a hive registry on it, and on some occassions the power-cycling causes it to become corrupted, which in turn stops CE from booting successfully. With debugging on, the OS hangs at the following point: .... Filesystem initialized! FS: HKLM\System\Events not available, no signal events created. ERROR: d:\mckendric\private\winceos\coreos\filesys\main\fsmain.c line 2857: Unab le to locate init key for starting apps! The CE help files state that when the system detects a corrupt registry, it is wiped and replaced with the default version, although this doesn't seem to be happening.     - VS2005 and MFC80U.DLL in Debug Build I have PXA 270 and Wince 5.0. MFC(mfcce400.dll) is part of CE image. Main user application is written by MFC in Visual Studio .NET 2005. Release Version of Main Application work fine without any additional files from VS2005. But Debug Build of application is required to download atl80.dll, MFC80U.DLL and some more files to device from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\ce\Dll\armv4i folder.     - TimeSVC and begin DST, one more time... As I previously posted, our X86 platform experienced high processor loading and a reset at 0200 hrs on August 19, 2006. This exhibited a signature similar to the one that we previously observed when SNTP was enabled and daylight saving time began 0200 hrs April 2, 2006. Hoping that the two are truly the same, I created a debug build with SNTP, set the date to March 31, 2006 and recorded output when DST began (see below). It is interesting that numerous messages are repetitively output by [NOTIFY] and these coincide with a period of high processor loading (Our CEM app reports 80% processor loading when this happens).     - Build All Projects fails I have a lot of SOURCES projects in a PBXML workspace. Some of the projects fail to build during sysgen phase. The same projects fail to build whe I use the menu item "Build Project"/"Build All Projects". But I can build them without problems, when I build the projects separated ("Build Current Project"). I have tried to find the reason for this weird behaviour. The comparision of the SOURCES files gives no significant diffenrence. Differences are: the TARGETNAME, SOURCES and CDEFINES - as expected. The comparision of the build.log files gives a significant difference. The nmake command line differs. In the failing build logs I can read 'NMAKE.EXE cleantgt -i -c BUILDMSG=Stop. NOLINK=1 NOPASS0=1' while the "cleantgt" is missing, when the build succeeds. When I build the projects separated, the cleantgt vanishes too and the build succeeds. During "Build All Projects" I see in the PB oputput window the command build -nmake cleantgt && build for each individual project. I could not find, how the target cleantgt is evaluated by build and nmake. How can I debug the build process? How can I find out, why some projects are only built with a serated command? ReadFile() function does not give any error, but dwNumBytesTransfered shows zero. And the content of "b.TXT" shows Null. I was getting the some error, when working on simple file application using the same functions. Then i set the file pointer before reading from the file using SetFilePointer().     - redirecting \Program Files Our system is configured as follows: Image in flash set up to execute in place Persistent storage and hive registry on MMC card in unit RAM No battery-backup The problem: Third party application generally install to "\Program Files". This currently maps to filing system in RAM. We would like it to default to "\Storage Card\Program Files" (so that it is persistent) without the user having to change the path on install (not all CABs let the user change the path). So what we want is like a linux (dare I use that word here?) symbolic link that maps "\Program Files" to "\Storage Card\Program Files". We tried the registry setting [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Explorer\Shell Folders] "Program Files"="\\Storage card\\Program Files" and it created a folder on storage card but did not do the mapping required when installing from CAB file.     - Headless release and VS2005 connection I've ran into deep trouble and will need some help. I have created a normal device based on the industrial image template and loaded the 5 files (conmanClient2.exe, CMaccept.exe etc.) and a custom launcher that is placed in the \windows\StartUp folder that launches ConmanClient2.exe and CMaccept.exe. It all works perfect (did use the CEFileWiz). Well creating a minimal Headless device with network support, Headless CF2, and a custom device driver doesn't work!?! The driver is running (writes to a port that I monitor) but I can't connect with VS2005. The IP are the same and everything about the 5 files and my launcher are the same and I can see all the files using Viewbin -toc nk.bin - both platforms are the same. I can Ping the device. So now my question is: is the conmanClient2.exe dependend of something that I have missed? I can't debug the device (the network adaptor doesn't support eboot) and I can't get in contact what it so what to do? Any comment is highly appriciated! In the second boot it tries to format again the storage area and usually fails again. After a couple of boots finally it recognizes all the asigned area and start to boot without problems and the applet in the Storage Manager shows the correct value. It seems that the problems comes when we use faster processors. Till now I see that with a 324 MHz processor that problem comes almost never but with 500 Mhz that happens almost always.     - NDIS packet buffer allocation problem Hi Guys, Are there other ways of creating packet descriptors for NDIS? Currently, all the WinCE miniport drivers are having a pre-defined packet buffer using NdisAllocateBuffer and NdisAllocatePacket, with this packet allocation, the MAC can fill up these buffers. The problem comes when your MAC is doing the transfers using DMA. The MAC has to fill the entire DMA block (e.g. 1518 byte block) even if the packet is small so that the NDIS packet descriptor's allocated buffer can be filled up before we can go to another NDIS packet descriptor. What I feel is that if there's a way for the MAC to do DMA without filling up the empty space of the DMA block (i.e. packets will be written contiguously on the DMA buffer and let NDIS buffers to point to these DMA blocks instead of re-copying it on the allocated packet buffer), then it would be more efficient. Is it possible for NDIS packet descriptors to be dynamically allocated instead of pre-allocating it using the previously said API's? Thank you very much! When I download the Debug Image DHCP allocates proper IP address,
But in this case when I trap frames for allocating Ip address My device
Always send
192.198.0.2 address as request to DHCP server and sets Address given by
DHCP server.

And major problem is that DHCP unable to allocate the IP addres in
NODEBUG image.
