    - Migrating WINCE 4.20 to WINCE 5.00 on OMAP1510 platorm Hi All I am o trying to migrate BSP for Windows CE 4.20 to Windows CE 5.0 on Innovator OMAP1510 HW platform. I am also facing the same problem as the the one Vadivel described in the discussion forum in his post With WINCE4.2 image is coming perfectly with the BSP,same BSP I used after incorporating changes as per microsoft help http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wcehardware5/html/wce50conbspanddrivermigration.asp I have followed the steps for migrating BSP from 4.2 to 5.0,but I built the image using Macallan and try to down load the image into OMAP1510 hardware I. found after putting couple debug statements ("<Drive name>:\WINCE500\Private\WINCEOS\COREOS\NK\KERNEL\schedule.c" and Drive name>:\WINCE500\Private\WINCEOS\COREOS\NK\KERNEL\kwin32.c") it is not able to execute fitst thread It means not going to SystemStartupFunc() Pls see the debug list 1 I tested timer ISR which is responsible for system tick by putting debug statements in OEMInterruptHandler(in Intc of BSP) and SysTimerInterruptHandler( Ter.cp of BSP) functions and it is working fine .     - WinCE buid process Hi all, The Cebuild.bat will perform build and sysgen for all the trees specified by the _DEPTREES environment variable . The sysgen is performed twice , known as 'preproc sysgen' and 'postproc sysgen' for each tree . I couldn't understand what happens in these two stages . Can anybody help me out in this .     - CEPC stuck at DHCP Hi all, I tried to create a CEPC platform based on an old Pentium 3 PC with a 3Com 3c90x Ethernet interface. I had used the CEPCBOOT.144 utility to create the boot diskette. The PC was booted up with the default config.sys/autoexec.bat options. The ethernet interface was correctly identified by loadcepc as a 3Com 3c90x ethernet interface but eboot.bin failed in trying to obtain an IP address via DHCP with the message: ProcessDHCP()::DHCP_INIT I sniffed the ethernet interface to verify that the CEPC was not sending out any packets at all. I had also tried to assign a static IP address to see if the CEPC would contact my development machine with BOOTME requests. Again, I did not detect any packets coming from the CEPC.     - Audio problem in VOIP application we have INTEL ECM 5616 board and we included Intel 81XAC97 audio driver. We downloaded the VOIP application to the board via serial port.     - Driver Load Sequence Hi, I need to dynamically load and un-load drivers from Platform Builder to deal with a problem that i have explained below. Can someone tell me how to do any of these two things: 1- Tell WinCE to load my ftdi_ser.dll (a third party dll for ftdiâ??s serial over USB chip) after loading every other dll at boot time. (note platform.reg "order" doenst work in this case). 2- Un-load and re-load the ftdi_ser.dll after completion of the boot up either from the Platform Builder environment or programmatically. The problem is that the ftdi-ser.dll driver behaves differently if WinCE is started with the external ftdi device attached to the USB port: Normal operation: If I boot up WinCE and then plug in a serial over usb device into the WinCE deviceâ??s USB port, the external device is detected by the OHCI.dll and its driver FTDI_SER.DLL gets loaded after Wince loads the OHCI.dll and it then operates normally i.e. I can plug the device in and then un-plug the device and re-plug and re-establish serial comms over the USB all normally. Abnormal operation: If I boot up WinCE with the external USB device attached to the USB port already, the FTDI_SER.DLL still gets loaded but USB doesnâ??t function also the FTDI+_SER.DLL does not get un-loaded when I detach the external device from the USB port. There are also other symptoms, in the registry viewer i can see under /Drivers/Builtin/Active that the FTDI_SER.DLL doesnâ??t get un-loaded and re-enumerated as it is the case under Normal Operation. As a solution, I must tell WinCE to load FTDI_SER.DLL after loading all other dlls.     - NDISWAN IM Driver Hi, I'm trying to debug an NDIS IM driver that binds to the AsyncMac miniport. (I know, I know, MS doesn't support this, etc.) When I compile the driver in eVC, it links just fine. When I compile it under Platform Builder 4.2, I get a link error - it can't link with the export function WanMiniportSend that is defined in ndis.h.     - CE 5.0 Defrag tool Whenever I run the CE 5.0 Defrag tool on an IDE drive (256 MB CF), it never completes and must be aborted by closing the Defrag window. When I subsequently run scandisk on the drive, it finds numerous Invalid files and Lost cluster chains. Is there a bug in the defrag tool (one has been reported for scandisk)?     - StorageManager Flags I am interested in the effect of various Storage Manager flag settings and have searched for documentation in PB and on-line. The only description that I can find for them are comments in Common.reg and they tend to be quite terse. Does anyone know where to find more complete documentation? If not, has anyone used the FATFS_VERIFY_WRITES flag setting? We have experienced occasional compact flash file corruptions and wonder if setting this would improve things.     - Cesysgen.bat question Hi, In PB4.1 the cesysgen.bat file in PROJECTROOT\Oak\Misc was big with lots of checks on what SYSGEN_xxx variables were set. Now in PB 5.0 all this file contains is call PUBLICROOT\cebase\oak\misc\cesysgen.bat which does not have all the settings the cesysgen.bat file in 4.1 had. Where have all these checks been moved?     - [wince5][plattformbuilder] Hi All, i use for development a opteron based and a p4 with em64t machine with winxp64, now i would to update from ce4.2 to 5. after may failed installs i enabled the logfile for the installer and found that the vmm.sys driver was failed. vmm.sys is part of the visual machine monitor (visual server 2005) and is needed for the emulator but can't be installed on a 64bit windows. i don't need the emulator but even without the installer fails. so is there a way to install ce5 on 64bit windows? or can i disable the installation of the emulator component. -- Regards Soeren Tag: Can't get to WWW Tag: 68696

And I also definitely believe that build and sysgen are all successful.(there are only some warnings after build and sysgen). After I new a project, and make a choice of Dynamic Link Library and An empty project, then I click "finish", the system report " New Project Wizard encountered an error while auto-generating the project.please try again".I have ever successfully created a project which can create a dll file, but this time , it's wrong here.     - about usb bulk transfer problem.. Dear all, I've developed a usb host client driver for my modem device. In more detail, it is a usb cdc acm driver. My driver follows stream driver model and creates a COM port for modem use. Then, I write a http client application to test my driver. When getting small-size file (<100KByte), it can download successfully. If the application gets big-size file(>1000KByte), the driver runs for a while and stops.     - Adding Raster Font support in WINCE 4.2 Hi, I am adding the Raster Support for my WinCE 4.2 OS. I added the Raster Font Support in my OS module and built it. But, I am not able to remove the Tahoma (Default system font) module. When i load the OS in my Target, it is crashing at GWES load. One more point i read in help that I can't use both Raster and TTF in the same OS image. But, to make my OS image for Raster ONLY support i tried to remove the Tahoma, but couldn't ftom the image. Why ? "Tahoma is taken as default font and couldn't remove" was the message i got. I couldn't get any help related to "How to add Raster support in WInCE 4.2 ?"     - problem in buiding VOIP phone hi, Iam trying to test voice call between emulator and ECM board. When i tried in release mode,Iam able to make call from emulator to ECM but voice is transmitting form emulator to ECM only that too not clear,its not workin in viceversa.     - directory / filesystem structure Hi, I'm relatively new to platform builder for CE 5.0 and need a little guidance here. When i'm building my platform I first modify the FILES section in project.bib and then copy them to a more robust structure that I outline in project.dat. I'm just wondering if there's a preffered way of doing this because I need to copy a large directory structure over to my device and this method leaves a copy of each file in \windows (in ROM??) and also puts the files in the robust directories (ie \myDir\a) as well. I like the files to be moved into the other locations but the documentation suggests that this isn't possible.     - boot problem when not connected to PB Hello everybody, I have a system that only runs when platform builder is connected. I enabled 'building for flash image' in the platform settings in order to let it boot standalone. This configuration still works. When I disable 'CE target control support' and 'Kernel debugger' it doesn't boot up anymore. What reason could there be that it does not run with these settings? Please, any help is appreciated.     - build environment Hi All, I am thinking about a build environment for a development I am doing using WinCE5.0 We are having to develop a BSP, Platform and then write maybe a dozen modules that will run on the device. I will be automating the build process which will (I think) Get all the source from CVS Build The BSP. Build the workspace. Build the modules. Build the documentation. Now, I am a bit new to Platform builder but I am looking for a way to build a BSP out of the default WinCE500 folder. Is it possible? I tried to clone one and specify my build directory rather than the default WinCE500 folder but It doesn't seem to let me define the PLATFORM/MyPlatform folder to be anywhere other than WINCE500. Does it's internal build process insist that your PLATFORM is defined within the WINCE500 tree? Is this because of the relative location of the 'Public', 'others' and 'CRC' folders?     - trapping NULL pointer dereference We are using structured exception handling (SEH) at a very high level to trap hardware signals like divide-by-zero and dereferencing a NULL pointer. Apparently Microsoft accomplishes this by trapping the hardware signals at a very low level and then throwing them as SEH exceptions. Unfortunately if we use SEH, we must turn off stack unwinding /GX, which limits our use of C++ exception handling. Also, apparently there is either a compiler extension -- or bug -- that allows hardware signals to be caught using catch(...) when building with Visual C++6. However, our experiments show that this DOES NOT work on WinCE apps built with EVC. Any experience with this? Essentially the problem is that we can not allow the screen (app) to just freeze if there is a bug in the code like divide-by-zero or dereferencing a NULL pointer. They want to be able to display some kind of message to the user instead of the screen just freezing. So, is there any other way besides using SEH to trap hardware signals? Maybe something we can do in the BSP? I'd really like to be able to use C++ exception handling. Also, do you know what the performance hit would be if we were able to turn on stack unwinding? The problem that i am facing is that if I include the following lines of code in MiniportInitialize, the device hangs and i have to Hard Reset it. As a result any log file i am creating is removed.     - Problem With Hive on OnBoard Flash Hello All, I am using StrataD sample for saving hives on my on board Flash. My target board has a ARM based processor with INTEL Strata J Flash, 32 MB Paired Flash, 64 MB RAM. The NOR Flash driver fails with "Invalid Manufacturer Code". The problem is : nk.nb0(nk.bin) is only about 500k binary data, normally it should about 11M as I used in the CE.NET platform. I used dial-up to connect the GPRS service.
The GPRS module is a virtual COM port via USB.
It connected to OTG device.
It can get to connected state.But it can't link to WWW or MSN.

If I switch module to the other USB host.(Not via OTG)
It can dial-up and link to WWW.

Did someone know about this problem?
