    - Ohcd2 lib, usb20/ehci : Unable to sysgen with Intel compiler 2.0 Hi, I am using Intel compiler 2.0 evaluation version for PB 5.0 When I go for sysgen, I am getting error with my BSP USB host lib: "fatal error LNK1103: debugging information corrupt", I got the problem and when I am doing individual sysgen of \WINCE500\public\common\oak\drivers\usb\hcd I am not able to generate sysgen with Intel compiler So I have to compile 1) \WINCE500\public\common\oak\drivers\usb\hcd\ohcd2 2) \WINCE500\public\common\oak\drivers\usb\hcd\usb20\ehci These two lib by with default Microsoft (MS) compiler, and then I can do sysgen of whole \WINCE500\public\common\oak\drivers\usb\hcd\usb20\ehci So I want to avoid to compile these two lib by MS compiler...I want to use Intel compiler only..     - Break Point doesn't Work hi all, I'm debugging a stream driver in PB5.0. I set break point in ***_init and ***_open functions but it just ignored all of the break points and ran through the programs. I'm sure the driver has been loaded already since the debug message has been printed out. By the way, when I set break point for it, it is a pink circle. How to solve the problem? Thanks in advance!!     - two instance bluetooth transport I have a board that could be populated with one of two slightly different serial bluetooth modules. They have different baudrate capabilities and some other differences. I have a hardware switch that I can read to determine the populated module. I would like to build just one image to support them both.     - STRATA flash and reset interopt problem I am seeing something really strange with the strata flash FMD driver. I just implemented block locking on my bootloader code and parameter blocks. Everything seems to be working except my reset command has now stoped working. The reset command does an internal watchdog reset (PXA255). I use this also to implement the KITL Target "Reset Device" command. This was working before I implemented the "locking" feature and if I "unlock" the blocks the reset majically starts working. I suspect the reset is really being issued, its just when it tries to reboot it can read the flash and locks up. If I power cycle (even with the blocks locked) it reboots fine.     - UNISCRIBE performance Has anyone else experiences a significant (and visible) slow down in text drawing when adding UNISCRIBE (complex scripting) support to CE 5.0 ? I haven't gone looking to see if all text is now drawn with some other blit or line call, but we added SYSGEN_UNISCRIBE to our builds which fixed some hebrew and arabic drawing, but all text objects now render significantly slower to the point that one can see dialogs refresh.     - Regarding File System Filter - Calling DeviceIOControl Hello All, I need to intercept any Read/Write operations with RAM, Storage Card and HardDisk(If there is one in PocketPC, i don't really know). So I am trying to use FSDSPY Example code using Visual Studio 2005(Not Platform Builder). Registry Settings Done: =============== HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\Filters\FSDSPY Name Type Value Dll String FSDSPY.dll Order DWORD 0 I have added Log messages to the file under \\Temp Directory while any directory is created in RAM, Storage Card. But Messages gets logged only when there is operation with Storage Card. This is the way I made sure FSDSPY.dll is working fine. Questions: ======= 1. Is there a way to intercept RAM read/Write file operations? 2. By doing the above registry settings, the File System Filter is applicable for all the storage. Is this understanding correct?     - Connect to Device... Not Available Using VS 2005, CE 6.0 integrated Platform Builder. I'm trying to connect to my device via Ethernet, but the Tools menu item "Connect to Device..." is grayed out and unavailable.     - Closing down thread after exception Hi, i have a problem. I have 2 threads in my app, the main process app and a background worker. In the background thread i have a top level try catch block.     - GIISR, NDIS and E100BEX bad interrupt handling Hi all, E100BEX is a miniport driver given as a sample with PB 5.0. It handles Intel's 825xx Ethernet PCI chips and illustrates a few useful techniques for writing NDIS 5.1 miniport drivers. Unfortunately, there is a problem in the way E100BEX handles the interrupts. This can be seen when E100BEX is used with GIISR.DLL on a shared interrupt level. NKCallIntChain then calls GIISR's ISRHandle, that tests active bits of the ScbStatus register of the controller against PortMask. As the result of the test is positive, ISRHandle returns a valid SysIntr for the interrupt and the matching IST in NDIS is eventually called. The IST in NDIS calls MPIsr in E100BEX, that read 2 controller registers: ScbCommandHigh to check that the interrupt is not masked at the controller level and ScbStatus, indicating what interrupt sources (Rx, Tx, etc.) are currently active. When both the interrupts are unmasked and active sources can be seen, MPIsr writes ScbCommandHigh to mask the controller interrupts and return TRUE to NDIS. NDIS then calls InterruptDone: new interrupts can occur on the same level. When E100BEX is the only possible interrupt source on this level, after having called InterruptDone, NDIS posts a DPC that ends in E100BEX MPHandleInterrupt routine. MPHandleInterrupt reads ScbStatus again and writes it back to clear the bits of the active sources. Then it processes the controller interrupts and finally writes to ScbCommandHigh to enable the controller interrupts again. When another device shares the same interrupt level and is located in the interrupt chain *after* the ISRHandler instance of E100BEX, things usually go bad. As an illustration, imagine this scenario: 1) A 825xx interrupt is processed up to the point where NDIS calls InterruptDone, after MPIsr. The controller interrupt is disabled in ScbCommandHigh but the active interrupt sources are still set in ScbStatus. 2) Right after InterruptDone, an interrupt pending on the other device is processed. NKCallIntChain is called starting with GIISR's ISRHandle for E100BEX. Unfortunately, the ScbStatus bits are still set and the SysIntr for NDIS/E100BEX is improperly returned. 3) MPIsr is called but as the controller interrupt is masked, it returns FALSE. 4) InterruptDone is called and as the interrupt of the other device is still active, we restart to 2): the system is hanged. Hi: The Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 list of operating system components states that the AYGShell API Set catalog item is included in the Core licence. Ref.: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/eval/wince/components.mspx However, the Run-time License Assessment Tool defines my OS image as requiring the Professional License when I include this item.     - Problem to handle VK_SELECT Hi, I am developing application on windows CE. I have a h/w which has 4 keys I have given functionality on UP(VK_UP), down(VK_DOWN), menu (OEM_SPECIFIC) and select(VK_SELECT) on these keys. Now I want to write a application to demonstrate them. For that I have written small program which has a Dialogue with 3 buttons. and I switch between them using up, down keys. But when focus is on the button I want to use VK_SELECT and select the current button and do some action. But active button does not handle this event. In fact I only get VK_SPACE event on the active button. But I want to write code on VK_SELECT event.     - LAN91C111 on PXA270 I'm porting Windows CE 5.0 MainStone BSP to a board based on PXA270. I'm trying to port the Eboot to this board. The Ethernet Controller is mapped on nCS4 (0x1000_0000). In developement kit MSC1 register value is 0aCCD1 i have not changed it in my board also. But when I try to apply it the driver in the board I am working now it appears to start ok, but it does not communicate well. The driver detects the Ethernet Controllet ok on SMCInit() routine, but It appears to fail on SCMSendFrame() or SMCGetFrame() routines. both chips have the same revision?     - Windows CE 6.0 calls to .NET CF SerialPort calls Anyone else tried or having issues with SerialPorts under .NET CF 2 (SP1) and CE 6.0? Establishing a manual connection or similar to a hyperterminal client shows comms is ok from the OS side of things, but if I write a .NET CF application (that runs fine under CE 5), opening a SerialPort object causes the program to throw an IOException.     - Bootloader - unresolved external Hi Guys I have been making a bootloader (for AT91SAM9261), I have made needed functions (main, startup) and I have a problem with final linking and making eboot.exe file. In the output of build -c there is an error "BUILD: [01:0000000080:ERRORE] Startup.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external s ymbol StartUp". It does not matter if in my StartUp.s file there is or there is not this label (and "EXTERN Startup"). I can't find out, why it happens. So, could anybody help? I selected ethernet as download and transport protocol in the target device connectivity options in platform builder. On the target, I boot from a bootable USB stick with a WIN98 boot disk on it.     - Serial port modem connection I have a GPRS modem that I want to use for internet connectivity on my CE device. My CE Platform has 3 serial ports - and I have first-third instance of serial port configured in PB. Hardware-wise, the platform's BIOS assigns 3F8 to COM1, 2F8 to COM2 and 2E8 to COM3. CE grabs 3F8 for serial debug and 2F8 becomes the new COM1. I notice CE sets 2E8 to be the new COM3. If I create a direct connection, only COM1 and COM3 are available but if I get the available COM ports programmatically, I get COM1 and COM2. My problem is I cannot get serial comms working with the modem, but it works fine if I set up a direct serial connection between the CE device and a host PC (visible in hyperterminal as the CE device polling "CLIENT CLIENT..."). Creating a modem connection via the CE default "Hayes" modem on COM1 works without any issue but does not work with my modem entry below on COM3 (I get a "Port is not available: another program may be using it" message). I create the additional modem connection in the registry as follows: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ExtModems\WaveComm] "Port"="COM3" "DeviceType"=dword:1 "FriendlyName"="WaveComm Modem on COM3" I have tried changing COM3 to COM2 without success. There seems to be something I am missing settings wise or in the registry but after all my help trawling and registry analysis I cannot figure out what (the fact that I can't see the CE registry remotely doesn't help either - see my other post) Any ideas?     - Windows CE 6.0 remote tools broken? I'm having lots of problems trying to connect to a CE 6.0 device using the remote tools like registry viewer. The device is connected via Ethernet and debugging via Visual Studio 2005 works fine. I haven't been able to resolve it, after doing/checking the following: - made sure KITL enabled build setting is on and all the KITL settings in the connectivity options are checked. -Tried debug and release builds - I am trying to use KITL Tranpsort as transport and CESH as startup server - I get the error "Unable to load device side components. Please check server configuration settings". These settings worked fine under CE 5.0 platform builder (and still does). - tried running both the CE 5.0 and CE 6.0 versions of the remote tools directly by launching the .exe's without success. - I have tried all other remote connection methods/combos (KITL/CESH/MANUAL) without success. What should I check I should have component-wise in my build to get this working - as far as I can tell, my build has the same components as my CE 5.0 version.     - Bluetooth - virtual Serial Port Hello, since a few days I'm struggling with the following problem: I'm using the PB 5.0 (XScale platform) sample "comtest" to create virtual Bluetooth COM ports and connect to another BT enabled PC. As long as I'm using client connections (Outgoing), everything works fine. However when I'm using the CE device as server (Incoming), the other PC cannot establish a connection (can't even see it). From the local CE view, everything looks working pretty well, i.e. the virtual COM port is registered successfully, the COM-port can be openend successfully but I'm waiting endless for an incoming connection. Furthermore, I can't see the "Serial" profile on the other PC, only a "Personal Ad-hoc Service" and a "Audio" profile. Establishing a connecting to these other profiles is no problem. Is there a need or way to make this serial profile visible first? Is there a PC-tool which can be used to establish a serial connection direct to a specific BT-ID? I have added some custom drivers to the .cec file of my BSP (using CEC Editor) in custom feature groups, but in the catalog they do not behave the same way as the standard driver types. Firstly, custom drivers using the standard driver types (e.g. serial drivers) appear in the catalog under: Third Party -> BSPs -> My BSP -> Device Drivers -> Serial -> My Serial Driver But the non-standard driver type (feature group) doesn't appear, though the driver itself does: Third Party -> BSPs -> My BSP -> Device Drivers -> My Custom Driver I would have expected it to appear in the same way as it looks in CEC Editor: Third Party -> BSPs -> My BSP -> Device Drivers -> My Driver Type -> My Custom Driver Is this normal? Secondly, if I set the RequiredCEModules to anything (e.g. just "device") then I am unable to remove the driver from the platform. If I try to delete it, Platform Builder just adds it back. My understanding is that RequiredCEModules specifies what modules the driver depends on, not what modules depend on the driver, so why would this make the driver "required"? The standard driver types use RequiredCEModules and yet I can add or remove them without problems. Is there a way to fix this?
