Bootup WinCE 5.00 with 4.20 Bootloader

I am using PXA270 based platform, I originally have WinCE 4.2
bootloader installed in the platform, now I have NK.BIN based on WinCE
5.00, I can load my image to the system via CF card and store it to
local onboard flash, now my question is, will it launch with WinCE 4.2
Bootloader or I need to install Wince 5.00 booloader in the unit.

Did you make any change to the bootloader? Or just recompile it?

Shouldn't be any reason that the 5.0 bootloader wouldn't load the 4.2 image,
unless you made some changes to it that would cause problems. Have you
tried it.

Thanks for the reply, I am doing quick Image test, that is, Wince 5.00
NK.BIN to a platform already have WinCE 4.20 bootloader, I am just
wodering is this combination OK or not, I do not have access to the
source code yet to build my own WinCE 5.00 Eboot.bin. Thanks again

I think that I misread your original post. You want to load the 5.0 nk.bin
using the 4.2 bootloader, yes that is possible.
