    - USB Function Client Driver Functions on WinCE 5.0 Hi, I'm trying to work on a USB function client driver function on WinCE 5.0, but I'm finding very little information on the UFN_FUNCTIONS, specifically, the descriptions for the parameters I pass into functions like lpRegisterDevice, lpStart, etc. Where can I find this? It's not on Platform Builder (I see it used in the sample code, but I really want the info), and it doesn't come up in searches on the microsoft.com website. This is really frustrating.     - installing platform builder Hello all, I am newbie in embedded developement. Can anyone tell me how to debug application on Windows CE. I heard somewhere that it can be done using Platform Builder and KITL. But when I tried to install Platform Builder, it flashes an error "Setup requires Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 to be installed. Please install Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 " What is mean by installing Windows CE 5.0 ? Is it STANDARD_SDK or somewhere else? Is it from software mixer? And what else can I do if the sound is still having some short delay during playing? Furthermore, how can I measure my IST execution time?     - BSP for a new platform Hi All, I am new to WinCE BSP development. Can someone tell me how long it is going to take to develop a BSP for a customized hardware such as AMD NX DB -1500 Geode processor. I searched and I found out that Microsoft provides BSP for AMD GX DB -1500 processors but not for NX series. Please let me know how long it will take to develop using Platform builder.     - Installable ISR - general questions Hi, Before digging to deep in trying to implement and learn about IISR I would like to get some advises/answers if possible: - Is it possible to use e.g. math functions like e.g. sin() etc. in an ISR? - Is it possible to use memcpy()? - Is it possible to use the IoControl of the ISR to pass parameters/data FROM the IST? - Is it possible to use the IoControl of the ISR to pass parameters/data TO the IST (lpOutBuf in KernelLibIoControl)? - I understand that the KLibAllocShareMem can be used to allocate a common buffer of ISR and IST but what is the parameter nPages defined - what if I would like to allocate e.g. 3000 bytes -what should nPages then be set to? I have checked the application using the virtual serial ports. i m getting nothing on the hyper terminal after running the application on the emulator.     - CE6 CETK questions Hello all, is the CETK related issues would be solved in the coming version of OS. Especially in stretchblt case it seems to fail at various random seeds and seems to pass at some. So would you please tell me what could be root cause of this..is this the problem with the driver not handling all the cases..Would you please also tell me how to work around if the test fails at a particular random seed. Appreciate your invaulable suggestions.     - Korean font issue Hi all, When i build my platform in PB im able to see the korean fonts if i set the default language of the OS to korean.But the problem is that the language of the entire OS changes to korean.I just want the language of my application to be in korean.But if i just select the locale to korean im not able to get the korean fonts. can you suggest on what i can do?     - .NET CF 2.0 and VS2005: Breakpoints are not hit I created a WinCE5.0 image that includes the .NET CF2.0 to allow managed code development using VS2005. I wrote a simple console program to test this functionality and the program is deployed correctly to the target and it executes as expected. The problem is that if I insert breakpoints in the program, they are not hit. If I start the program using a step, the step works but in the breakpoints marks it is shown the following alert: "The breakpoint will not currently be hit". I'm not using ActiveSync but using TCP/IP transport instead and manually launching Clientshutdown\ConmanClient2\CMAccept. I have checked that the application is correcly deployed to the target and that the debug variant is used. I have tested both headless and display CF2.0 variants.     - SCO over HCI USB audio sync problem Hi, I am having a strange problem, sometime when I record from a SCO channel in 16bit (0x0060) to a file the first byte is missing and when I play it back I listen just caos. But if I cut the first byte, or I add a byte in front of the file, then I can listen it fine. I suspect that some endianness problem is happenning. But it is random. Is there a way to be sure that I am reading the packet in the right way? Note: I am Using USB Isoc alternate setting 2, i.e. 17 byte per frame. The problem occurance is Random.     - Qn - How to Build a system with persistent storage?? Hi Guys, May I know if there is any documentation/guide on building a WinCE 5 system with persistent storage and hive registry? I tried building the system by choosing hive registry and rom-only file system, it built successfully but cannot run. With a rom-and-ram file it run fine, but the hive registry does not seems to be working, as changes to the system options are lost after power off. Therefore, is selecting hive registry in the catalogue suffice for hive-based registry system. Similarly, is selecting a rom-only file system sufficient for a system with persistent storage.     - USB Bluetooth dongles with Broadcom BCM2035 Hello, I've tried a lot of different Bluetooth dongles on my PXA270 Win CE 5.0 design. All are working correctly.. but a common one based on the Broadcom BCM2035 chip ("Blutonium" BT 1.2, Class 2 adapter). Bluetooth devices are found by the "scan" procedure under control panel, but they are marked with a "?" (no specific icon is associated with the device). It seems that HCI communication is working, but upper protocol levels are not operating properly (no reference to ACL data into the debug dump). Have you ever seen this problem? According to the PXA255 Manual, the CP15 Register TTBR can only hold addresses which define the upper 18 Bits (16 k alignment), but the base address passed to the CP15_TTBR is 0xA05BB000, which is rounded down to 16k Alignment 0xA05B8000. This of yourse fails while executing. NK.exe .pdata starts at 8eb3b000, which is probably the reason why the misalignment occures. My question: How can I force 16 k alignment of the Arrays without having to compile private code ? Has anyone discovered the same problems with PB5.0 on XScale platforms ? After trying to place the array to a properly aligned memory region, I retried ... the TLB then was in place but however, the TURN ON of the MMU failed again. There is an issue within the help topics of PB: "If a device with an XScale CPU hangs when executing the instruction that enables MMU, you can attempt to isolate the problem by including an identity mapping for FLASH memory in OEMAddressTable. If the identity mapping allows execution to continue past the failed MMU instruction, then this indicates that the problem is specific to the XScale CPU. Although the identity mapping can get you past the MMU enable instruction, it is likely to cause the system to crash later in the boot process when virtual memory is accessed. Once you identify that this is the XScale specific issue, you can workaround this problem by performing the following steps: 1. Create the identity mapping in the first call to OEMARMCacheMode. You can determine if it is the first call by testing whether the instruction counter is a physical address, in which case MMU is not enabled yet. 2. In OEMInitDebugSerial, remove the identity mapping. " We use strataflash (two 16 MB units) and I remapped it onto itself, but it failed again. I am completely stuck now and need some advice.     - PB remote tools cannot access Smartphone emulator image From PlatformBuilder, remote tools (Fileviewer and RegEdit for example) cannot connect to the DeviceEmulator when it is running a Smartphone image. The problem has to do with 'cetlkitl.dll trust = 1'. When I run a PocketPC image, 'cetlkitl.dll trust = 2' and the problem does not occur. I have seen this problem on multiple AKUs. It is blocking me from loading some test files on the Device Emulator. Any help would be most appreciated. Here are the details: Using AKU 2.4 and AKU 3.2 (Venti - build 15624), 1. I installed the AKU, 2. cloned the DeviceEmulator BSP for a Smartphone (debug build). 3. I did 'blddemo clean -q' and tried 'blddemo clean -c'. The images built without problem. 4. Using PB I opened the workspace and set up a KITL connection to download to the device emulator (all standard settings). 5. I have rebooted my PC with no network connection and used the Microsoft Loopback adapter. This is done to assure no VPN problems. I tried it several other ways making 'dinks' to the build process with no success as below. 6. When I attach to the device, it starts the emulator, downloads the image and the image boots with a log to the PB debug window. 7. After the emulator boots it works fine. 8. When I try to start any of the remote tools (registry editor or file viewer I get the following log.     - KITL connection for ARM 926 ejs hi, I have developed an OAL for arm 926 platform but I have done it without KITL as we had time constraint for driver devlp. I am using UBOOT of linux to download the kernel image and hence platform builder is not in any way connected to target board. Now since driver development is in progress I have been told to develop KITL connection. I have a doubt that I would like to clarify and that is it necessary to have wince bootloader to download the image to board so that KITL connection can be established, I have this issue because i have seen only i way that is by "Attach Device" by which i can connect the board and then if i use UBOOT and try to start the KITL how can the messages appear on the platform builder. It fixes that the compactor thread (that clean up the dirty sectors)
sometimes just exit when the clean sector count runs low. This causes the
file system to run out of free sectors and pretty much prevents any changes
to it.
