    - Importing Outside Email Folders I am using outlook for my outside email. I have two accounts that I am using one is my hotmail account and in outlook I can see the personal files that are a part of my email. When I include my other email which is a web based email with "GO DADDY" the only thing I see is my inbox but not the personal files that I need attached so I can save them in these files.     - Outlook 2002 - Send Error 0x8804060c I typed it in on the error finding page of microsoft and it said all I had to do was download the newest servicepack to fix it, but I did that and the problem still exists. I can receive mail fine, but when I try to send it, it actually repeatedly sends the messgae while telling me that it had an error. Then if I try to delete it out of my Outbox it says, " C:/documents and settings/.................pst has reached its maximum size. To reduce the size pick some files you no longer need and permenantly delete them. I can not find where it is that I need to execute this "permenant deletion". PLEASE HELP!!     - E-Mail Account Folders I just created a new e-mail account and configured it so the mail is routed to Outlook. But my mail messages are showing up in my "favorites" folder at the top of the left-hand pane. My other e-mail acconts all have their own titled folder under "All Mail Folders." They shows up as the name of the account with a little drawer symbol next to it, and then an Inbox (in bold) with the number of unread messages next to it.     - Outlook 2003 "fresh" install - Outlook crashes continuously I reinstalled Windows XP Pro as a clean/fresh install as I was encountering problems with Windows Exlorer (not IE). Using the program "Outlook Backup Pro" (Total Idea), I backed up all files eg pst, rules, etc. After installing XP Pro, I then installed (fresh), Office 2003 - including Outlook 2003. I then progressively installed all 3 service packs for Office 2003. This was followed by a "restore" files via "Outlook Back up Pro", and all settings, rules, folders, email etc were restored perfectly. However, since then, Outlook continually (writing a new email, downloading, even while idle).....it regularly ( varies from 5 to 20 minutes or so), it "crashes and gives the message "Office Outlook has encountered a problem and must close". I have tried the "Repair" from the <Help> menu, searched Microsoft's site - ran <scanpst.exe> and no errors were reported. Since the above problem started I have : (1) "Repaired" while going through the "uninstalled" option (2) tried to "Repair Outlook" from <Help==>>Outlook==>>Detect & Repair (3) Uninstalled completely & re-installed (4) Run SCNPST.EXE (no errors??!!) (5) created a "new profile" suggested by another person on MS's Forum (6) deleted files with <*.srs> & <*.dat> in C:\documents and settings/deane/Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook - also suggested by a reply on the MS forum. Tried on many occassions to get "Support" from MS....and after 5 or 6 emails, being told to phone - which I did, only to be told it would cost $80 for a Tech to try to work it out!     - Outlook 2007 Keeps Trying to Reinstall/Reconfigure I've been running Outlook 2007 on Vista Home Premium for months with no problems. Now I'm getting reinstalling and reconfiguring windows almost everytime I try to send or receive messages. Outlook sends and receives okay but it must go thorough this reinstall/reconfigure dance first. Note: I had this same reinstall/reconfigure problem with all the Office 2007 Programs at the same time but I deleted the existing shortcuts and made new ones from the Program Files menu (for Word, Powerpoint & Excel). That fixed those Office programs but a new shortcut icon (from Program Files Menu) didn't work for Outlook. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Tag: My .pst folder is too full....     - Migratng from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 I currently have Outlook 2003 on my XP desktop. I wsant to move messages, folder strucure, accounts ( i use several), profiles etc and settings to my Vista Laptop wth Outlook2007, which will now be my primary email machine.     - Configuring OL2K7 with OL Connector to be the Default I have OL2K7 and downloaded the OL Connector, I am a MSN Premium subscriber, it syncs up just fine ... minus two things. To me these are both ... major issues. First, it will not notify me (This is the only account on that profile) when I get new email.     - "Repairing" MS Office Professional 2003 - Outlook Question #1: If I use the MS Office Pro CD to "repair" Outlook, will it resolve the following issues and will all of my settings, emails, rules, etc. remain intact? #1 Issue: For some reason, one of my friends is receiving emails from me, but I am not receiving emails from her. Since the emails appear in my AT&T Web Mail Inbox, but do not come through on Outlook, AT&T says that there is a problem with Outlook. #2 Issue: I have a rule created for emails from a particular person to go into the Inbox. However, when emails from this person arrive, you see it for a second in the Inbox, and then it disappears. It is not in any folder...not in Deleted Items...not in Junk Mail (or Qurb, etc.)...nowhere; it just disappears. #3 Issue: In Tools|Options, I have checked the box to add people I email to the Safe Senders List and add Contacts to the Safe Senders List. However, email from several clients repeatly go into the Bulk folder. I added them to my Contacts, but they still have "[Bulk] Re: xxx" in the Subject line, and continue to go into the Bulk folder. Question #2: Are the Contacts and Address Book two separate files? When I recently replace the hard drive in one of my computers, I copied the Outlook.pst file from the old hard drive to the new one.     - Upgrade Office 00 to Office 07, cannot start Outlook On Exchange 2007, upgraded Office 00 to Office 07 (test client, XP sp2).     - Outlook 2003 (with Exchange 2003) is very slow to open Problem - when I shut down an old Windows 2000 server that USED TO BE a domain controller, though NEVER an Exchange server, Outlook 2003 becomes very slow to open on every machine on the network. Environment: -single Exchange 2003, fully patched with all Microsoft updates / Outlook 2003, also fully patched with all available updates. - Network of about 40 users - NO RPC over HTTP - NO cached Exchange mode - NO .pst or .ost files permitted - no IMAP or POP3 connections are permitted - No ActiveSync connections are permitted - single Exchange server, no front end/back end configuration. - Currently, there are 2 domain controllers on the network, both functioning without error (the Exchange server and another server). - Domain is in mixed mode. - No firewalls, Windows or otherwise, between desktops and Exchange. - No related errors in event logs of servers or desktops - No AD errors on domain controllers - No DNS issues Issue: We have an old Windows 2000 server, that was the original domain controller/file print server for the domain. About 3 years ago, we installed a new Windows 2003 server and moved all of the AD rolls, DNS and DHCP off of the old server and onto the new server. This server was NEVER an Exchange server. We disabled DNS and DHCP serivces at that time and ran DCPromo to remove the old server from the domain. All went well. There were no issues or errors. Unfortunately, we left the old server up and running just in case there was a file that someone needed. The old server was left running in the rack and was forgotten about. Now, we need to install some new servers and we need the rack space, so we have to fully decommission the old server. Everything works fine when we shut it down, EXCEPT for Outlook 2003. If the old server is shut down, Outlook takes over 3 minutes to open on every desktop on the network. The minute the server comes back up, Outlook opens normally. We moved from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 (fresh install on new server, used Exmerge to move contents of mailboxes) about 2 years ago. The old Exchange server has been off of the network since the upgrade. If I open Outlook with the /rpcdiag switch with the old server down, the first 2 connections are made immediately, with normal speed. The delay is between the second and third connection. The Outlook web client continues to function normally, whether or not the old server is on. I have tried all the safe mode switches. /safe:1, safe:3 and safe:4 do not affect startup speed. If I start in /safe:2 (starts Outlook without checking mail at startup), Outlook opens at normal speed. I have also tried the /cleanprofile switch, which had no effect. Other than the issue with Outlook, all logins/network applications and resources function normally, whether the old server is up or not. I searched through the registry of one of the desktops. I do not see any references to the old server by either name or IP address. I would appreciate any ideas on how to resolve this problem. Tag: My .pst folder is too full....     - Unable to create secondary Outlook profile I am able to login to my primary profile on Outlook 2007. I am trying to create a profile and I get an error message "The action cannot be completed." when I enter the server and user name.     - Ok one more time I have Outlook 2002 will not send I had a failed disk clone and have a problem sending, but not receiving messages. I set up another computer with an OEM Office 2003 Pro from a Dell I have but have been informed that is illegal since it didn't come with the box I installed it on. So here is the short version. I can send when I "TEST" the settings in the edit area. Says it works but trying to send an actual message it fails with an error. I have let it have permission in my firewall so that is not it. I have resorted to using Hotmail to reply to messages and that's pretty tedious. The Seagate drive clone software locked up it seemed and I aborted the operation when I should have let it go. Most people say it should not have changed any settings as it was only "copying" Well, I am telling you I have never seen the issues it has caused. So, until I get real enthusiastic and do a complete reformat and re-install of XP Pro and all my programs, all I'd like to do is send e-mail. Anyone?     - How can I reset the menu/toolbar location? Can anyone tell me how to reset the men/toolbar location, given that I can't see any menus or toolbars in the Message Window?     - Outlook 2007 won't quit!! I've just finished upgrading my computer and I've installed Vista Ultimate and Office 2007. Unfortunately, it appears for one account, it is impossible to close Outlook after I've opened it. The X in the top right corner does nothing and selecting File -> Exit does nothing either. The only way to close it is from the control panel. The only e-mail account I've configured so far is a POP account from my ISP. Does anybody have any idea what might be happening here.     - Outlook Bus Contact Mgr 2003 and Vista Ultimate I currently have Outlook 2007 loaded on to Vista Ultimate. Can I uninstall Outlook 2007 and install Outlook 2003 with Bus Contact Manager? Why would I want to do that? ...because I'm not in the mood to shell out another $149 just to get the contact manager 2007. If there was a way to upgrade to Outlook 2007 w/BCM for say $75 more, I'd do it. The sys requirements for the 2003 software says Win XP Svs PK 1 or better. That may be so but then I may find out that I can't get any of the old 2007 data to import to 2003 or some surprise like that?     - Attachment file extensions Hi. We have an automated program that sends out notification emails to clients. One recipient in particular can not see the file extension on the attachments since he upgraded to Outlook 2007. I assumed this was due to a "Hide file extensions for known types" type of setting, but the user claims the problem went away 2 weeks ago without any intervention on his end (or ours).     - Outlook and VISTA can't connect, but other combinations do! I have a dual boot configuration for my computer with WinXP SP2, and Vista Business. I have Outlook 2007 installed on both. I have e-mail accounts with COMCAST and the Exchange server at my employer. 1. With Outlook as the mail client on WinXP, and the COMCAST and Exchange accounts set for POP3/SMTP, I have no problem connecting to the mail servers and sending and receiving mail from both servers. 2. With Outlook as the mail client on VISTA and the same setup for the COMCAST and Exchange accounts that I use in WinXP, the COMCAST account works just fine, but the Exchange account does not. I get the following error: Connection is interrupted. Error code: ox800CCC0F If I click on the Test account settings button for the Exchange account, it fails with the same error, but I can later find (in WinXP) that the test message was successfully received through Exchange into my Inbox. 3.     - Office 2003 - MS Outlook Hello, since yesterday when I click on my contacts in Outlook, I get the calendar page. All the the header in the Navigation Pane show "Contacts", under the "Current View" I get all the options from the Calendar page. When I right-click on the "Contact" icon and click on "Open in New Window", the all the contacts pull up correctly. What do I need to do to save the contacts in the contact folder?     - Corrupted email rules when moving pst file Outlook 2003 to 2007 Computer w/ XPpro, Outlook 2003. Copied the pst file onto a zip drive. Uploaded in onto a computer w XPpro, Outlook 2007 and put the pst file into a directory under My Documents. Opened Outlook 2007. Used file/open/outlook data file and opened the new pst file. Went to tools/account settings, and set the new pst file as the default delivery for email. Then on the same tab, I used remove to close the old folder. I now have one data folder open, the correct one. But all the email rules now are corrupted: they all are have lost the setting for "move it to the specified folder". I have a feeling that my data is still on there, so I will try to attach the HD as an external drive and hopefully have the ability to copy files off of it. My question is: How do I recreate my old Outlook setup (with email accounts, all my old settings, contacts and addresses, etc) on the fresh install of Outlook, using the old HD? Can someone please explain where I can find all the files that need to be copied and whether it is just a matter of copying the files over or if I will have to re-add the old email accounts, etc (because I do not have most of that login information settings anymore).     - Upgrading to Outlook 2007 I had an earlier version of Outlook (2003?) and yesterday upgraded to 2007. All went fine until 2007 came up and now gets stuck on the "Configuring Outlook" screen. Ran for about 9 hours and didn't move, but kept saying "Running" in Task Manager. I killed it and then restarted and ran in safe mode and all seemed oK until I couldn't send (could get email, but not send anything other than the Outlook test messages).     - Dell OEM version of Office and Outlook 2003 install and activate question Is there a problem if I install a Dell OEM version of Office 2003 XP I got way back when and install it on a self built box? I figure I got it legally and fair but it still asks for activation. Will it activate over the web and let me use it or is it limited to the Dell that saw better days?     - One recipient cannot receive our emails One of our clients cannot receive any emails that are sent from any workstation on our Windows 2003 Server network. We can send and they can receive emails if we use our ISP webmail portal though. The only thing our client will tell us is that our email is changing, preventing our emails from getting through, and that the problem is with the host. This makes no sense, but the fact remains that they don't get our emails, even if we reply to one of their incoming emails.     - Setting up an account to go through proxy I desire to use Outlook 2007 for a number of reasons. However, I currently cannot receive email messages via POP3 through my Proxy. My computer is on our LAN on which there is a computer that runs a proxy and shared Internet access. In Outlook Express, I set up the following: ---------------------------- Incoming mail server: POP3 POP3: 192.168.1.10 (my proxy's IP address) SMTP: 192.168.1.10 Account: wolfgang@workingwebs.co.za#mail.workingwebs.co.za Password: ****** ------------------------ This works perfectly and has from Outlook Express versions running from about year 2000 to the latest most current Outlook Express. Doing the same in Outlook 2007, however, does not work, whereas the SMTP setting does work. Note: For the proxy, the POP3 server host name to be sent with the account name (User name in Outlook 2007) delimited by a # (see above). It appears as though the account string is somehow changed by Outlook 2007 so the proxy doesn't get a valid string to process. ----------------------- My questions: 1. Is the use of an account string as above with a # delimeter not allowed in Outlook 2007? Note: The input is allowed in the account field. E.g. no error message is displayed to indicate that a # delimited account name is invalid. 2. If (1) above is the case, how does one configure Outlook 2007 to go via a proxy to a POP3 account on the Internet? PS: All my apps have to have a proxy setting including IE, Firefox, anti-spyware software. 95% of apps work perfectly. Outlook Express fits in the 95% and Outlook 2007 in the 5%.
