Error 0x800CCC0F when sending msgs. can receive msgs. Have AT&T DSL, I.E.
6.0. Per AT&T, SMTP Port should be 465 but that doesn't work. Can send when
SMTP Port is 25. AT&T rep said Microsoft has a fix but I am unable to locate
it. Any help? Thanks!

Please describe in complete detail how you have configured your account
(every setting), excluding only your username/password. Include as well the
COMPLETE text of any errors you receive. For AT&T Yahoo, port 465 is the
correct SMTP server port.

Thanks so much for the fast response. Settings follow...
Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.att.yahoo.com, Outgoing
(SMTP)-smtp.att.yahoo.com, Mail Account - pop.att.yahoo.com, My outgoing
server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked, Use same settings as my
incoming mail server is on, Server Port numbers: Incoming POP3 - 995 plus
checked on This server requires a secure connection (SSL), Outgoing (SMTP)
465 plus checked on This server requires a secure connection. Went over and
over settings with AT&T tech, even deleted email acct and re-added. Will
only send when Outgoing port is 25 and This server requires a secure
connection is 'not' checked.

AT&T said this is a known problem with Microsoft and there is a fix in
Service Pack 3. ?

Error: Task 'pop.att.yahoo.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F): 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Possibly. I saw a recent post about that. You could try installing the
update to see.

Assume my settings are correct. Do I need to unistall Service Pack 2 or just
install 3. Thanks

That information will be in the article describing the service pack, but in
general I think service packs are cumulative, meaning SP3 will contain prior
updates as well.
