    - Window Installer error I am running XP with all three service packs. I use Outlook XP. I am not receiving my mail any more. The accounts haven't changed. I decided to run 'Detect and Repair". MOST of the Outlook profiles were successfully made aware of the migration using methods unknown to me. (Perhaps using the move mailbox command .. ?) 3. However, with some workstations, users login only to find that their outlook profile hasn't been updated to the new_server ... so opening Outlook eventually times out (because it can't find "old_server"), and the user has to manually set their exchange server to the new one. 3NOTE: I think it might be because Network IT turned off the old_server exchange server too early, so anyone who didn't open their outlook, say, in the week the old one was left on didn't get that 'auto migrate' step ... From what I understand we can use a PRF file to correct the issue.     - Removing folder reference to nonexistent PST file. In Outlook 2003, I previously created and used a secondary PST file for a temporary purpose. I wanted to simply "Close" that temporary use PST file. However, the file is still listed in the list of folders, and would not respond to the "Close Data File" command. Deleting the secondary PST file had no effect, and deleting the *.NK2 file had no effect. The old secondary file is still listed, but there is no real PST file to open, so requests to "Close" or "Remove" only return error messages. The secondary datafile is no longer listed in the "Data File Management" dialog box. ScanPST.exe has no effect. Do I have to do something with the primary PST file, and/or the profile?     - Error while trying to configure Outlook 2003 All, I am trying to setup outlook 2003 under a new user's profile. When I enter the exchange server and mailbox name I get an error that reads; "The name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to the name in the address list." I have verified that this user has an active box in AD and that the user is able to connect to this box using OWA. I was able to configure outlook with another user's mailbox under a different profile. I have tried deleting and recreating the outlook profile. I recieve the same error. Any ideas? I tried to reinstall Outlook 2007, but it seemd as if it never really took away all the old, but I am not sure. With reinstallation of Outlook 2007, I encountered problems with registration keys: as if I was not allowed to install this problem. I am the administrator so that should not be any problem. Also tried to change the registration key to full control by administrator, but then the problem was shifted to another registration key. There was an option to neglect, and so I did. But then, another problem was there. As I would like to have outlook synchronizing to the office Exchange Server 2003 at my work (fully patched as far as I know), I filled in for this purpose. But: * Problem: Cannot connect to the exchange server using HTTPS (had no problems with old laptop running XP). However, finding my mail box/username for other mailaccounts (http or Imap) - no problem; completing the Mail setup for those - no problem. But when exchange server connections are filled in as account - PROBLEMS Symptoms: When I open up Outlook, I get prompted for username/pwd (so far so good), but that's it! Either Outlook times out without ever opening up or I get error messages that Outlook can't connect to server, or cannot start Outlook, cannot open the outlook view, and telling me that I am not allowed for actions like this. Though I am administrator of my own computer. Additional Info: (i) Accessing the exchange server via Outlook Web â?? no problem; (ii) Accessing the exchange server via VPN - no problem; (iii) Have tried to copy all settings from my XP laptop â?? it just bnever runs for the connection with the exchange server also I have the service pack 1 installed recently.     - Outlook 2003 On Friday I had a new motherboard and hard drive installed on my DELL XPS 600 - I installed my Office 2003 Basic disk that came with the computer when I purcahsed same three years ago. The programs i.e. Word and Excel work fine, however my Outlook does not - whenever I click on same it gives me an error message to start in safe mode.     - Outlook Cached Mode on Terminal Server Hi, I have read lots of articel that cached mode is not possible on Terminal Servers for various reason - Anyhow does anyone know a workaround? I know it's working when I logon to the console of the Server but that is not really a working solution. Background is that the Terminal Server and the Exchnage Server are connected over a WAN link.     - Outlook 2007 hangs with IMAP server I am using Outlook 2007 with a remote IMAP server. Outlook OFTEN loads and hangs with 'Send/Receive status 52%'. I then close Outlook and re-open it and if OFTEN goes right to 100% and says 'Send/Receive complete'. Turned on 'Enable Logging (troubleshooting). When it hangs, the log file contains sometimes 150 messages, other times 250 messages with no rhyme or reason why it stops. Here's an example of the last few lines in the log file.     - Outlook 2007 data files, archives, folders cluster My Outlook 2007 (Vista Ultimate) is configured for one POP e-mail account but I've completely hosed it up with 14 data files configured, some of which are partial duplicates. I am also showing 14 folders open in the mail folders box. Three of these are "Archive Folder" but the other 11 have names that look a like the file names I've assigned over the years. Needless to say, I'm having a lot of "Outlook 2007 is not responding" situations and many times, outlook starts with the message that a data file or archive was "not closed properly" last time it was shut down. Under Calendar items, I have 9 items under "My Calendars". These all have unique names and only one is checked and it has the title of "Calendar". When calendar reminders come up, they appear three times identical. When I dismiss one, all three disappear. Under Contacts, I have 5 items under My Contacts all with unique titles. For e-mail, contacts, and calendars, I would like to consolidate with one active file and another much larger file for archives I could search on for future reference. Getting there without losing any information is where I need help. Can you tell me how to: 1)Consolidate into one active and one archive file? 2)Eliminate duplicate e-mail, calendar items and contacts? 3)Configure Outlook 2007 so performance and reliability are improved? BTW, I have backed up all the files and also have several older backups on different hard drives that would ideally be consolidated as well.     - Outlook 2003 User Accounts Have set up seperate accounts and profiles for myself and wife and configured to ask for which profile to use. After boot up of the computer and click on outlook it asks to choose the profile and enter password. However, if I close outlook and reopen, it goes directly to the profile which had just been opened (does not give a choice of profile or ask for password).     - How Do I Turn Off Autodiscover? We have started installing Outlook 2007 on a small network with Exchange 2003. We are starting to get certificate warnings about autodiscover.mydomain.com, but we simply want to stop Outlook from autodiscovering anything. How do we turn this off? Borland does not ship with Office products. Might try Borland's website to
see if you can acquire their BDE for distribution. (e.g. Our programmers
like Delphi so we have to install the BDE to support our inhouse
applications)

I had exactly the same problem and after searching the net found several
possible fixes. The first thing was to install Borland Database to see if
that resolved the issue

(it wouldn't download from the above site for me, so I used a third party
site and even installing the program didn't resolve the issue for me). The
next post I found suggested creating a new Outlook profile and/or upgrading
Coral to the latest version.

Before attempting either, I also had a completely seperate unrelated issue
with a genealogy program which their support forum suggested removing Google
Desktop Search ... I don't actually have that program, but did have Windows
Desktop Search installed so on a hunch I removed that and TADA!! not only did
it fix the problem with the genealogy program, it also resulted in no more
Borland error message when opening Outlook. So ... the solution ... remove
any desktop search programs.
