After much stumbling about, attempting to find and run Scanpst.exe and so on,
I stumbled onto a sidebar for Outlook Tools 2.1 a FREE download
fromwww.howto-outlook.com. After downloading the tool, i clicked the button
for -- scanpst - 74 errors were found and I am up and wotking with Outlook

Outlook 2003
On Friday I had a new motherboard and hard drive installed on my DELL XPS 600
- I installed my Office 2003 Basic disk that came with the computer when I
purcahsed same three years ago.
The programs i.e. Word and Excel work fine, however my Outlook
does not - whenever I click on same it gives me an error message to start in
safe mode. I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times -
was told that the new hard drive may not be compatible with 2003 and that I
would have to purchase Office 2007. This does not make sense to me -
Error messages reads:
Outlook failed to start correctly last time.......starting outlook in safe
mode.....

I can get to Microsoft Outlook through webmail- and it will start in safe
mode - but none of this makes sense to me! If I can start in safe mode and
go through my webmail why isn't there an easy solution to this problem? I
was told by a DELL rep that there may be a "patch" but it is certainly not an
on-line choice - and of course I was told by Microsoft that it would cost
$49.95 to repair the problem.....your thoughts and insight are certainly
appreciated....

I keep getting a message that connection is unavailable.
I am trying to move from Outlook Express that I used with by internet
connection (Cox) to Outlook 2003. I can receive messages, but when I reply
or try and send a new message, I get an message that says"The connection to
Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or conected
to complete this action." I have gone thru the options under Tools but can't

Office Outlook 2007 Error Message "Key is Incorrect"
Have been successfully using Office Outlook 2007 Trial version. When prompted
to convert I purchased product via download and now have correct Product Key.
The Trial version is still active and I have tried entering the new product
key as prompted, but I receive error message "Key is Incorrect". How do I
convert from Trial to purchased product? It is downloaded on my computer, but
when I run it Trial Version is still active.

Just purchased Office 2007 for small business. I have my person email from
verizon in outlook. I am trying to add my hotmail account also. I have
followed the direction for setting up a new profile and adding the email

Outlook Cached Mode on Terminal Server
Hi,
I have read lots of articel that cached mode is not possible on Terminal
Servers for various reason - Anyhow does anyone know a workaround? I know
it's working when I logon to the console of the Server but that is not really
a working solution. Background is that the Terminal Server and the Exchnage
Server are connected over a WAN link. We have Riverbed's in place but still
performance is not what I expect it to be. Cached mode (for Laptop users) is
really working great in that above config.

journal auto not working
i set up journal in outllok 2007 /vista (exchange server but only pop3 mail)
I added items manually for contacts but after setting up >tools >options
>journal pref >select contacts, emails I get from these clients (contacts)
are not being auto recorded.

Outlook 2007 hangs with IMAP server
I am using Outlook 2007 with a remote IMAP server. Outlook OFTEN loads and
hangs with 'Send/Receive status 52%'. I then close Outlook and re-open it and
if OFTEN goes right to 100% and says 'Send/Receive complete'. Turned on
'Enable Logging (troubleshooting). When it hangs, the log file contains
sometimes 150 messages, other times 250 messages with no rhyme or reason why
it stops. Here's an example of the last few lines in the log file. Outlook
will then hang forever with no further updates to the log file.

Why outlook adds =SMTP: to eply mail
I have had a comment to a previous posting but cannot see anything when I
activate the link, and reactivating the request just brings up a blank window
as well.
My Outlook is adding =SMTP:in front of outgoing email but only for reply
mail, not for regular send mail. I cannot figure this out and would
appreciate assistance. Hopeflly I can open the link.

I reinstalled my Office Word 2000, and now I have english back in Outlook
instead of French. When installing Offfice 2007, customize and click on do

I re-installed Outlook 2003, after I had my PC re-formatted.
I keep getting the same message over and over from Outlook.
Can not connect to MS Exchange Server, then when I click OK it asks me for
the MS exchange Server name and mailbox. I thought this was Pop3 and my
e-mail address, but it doesnâ??t like that either.
What am I missing here? Do I really have a MS exchange server?
All my e-mail addresses are set up so I donâ??t know what is wrong. Please

Outlook puts SMTP= in front of email replies, resolution.?
The issue is with reply email and Outlook does not recognise the adress
created. I cannot delete the MTP as it keeps adding it.
What settings do I have wrong as the email set up shows SMTP1.MyISP as the

Unable to send emails with aircard
Hi, I have the Sierra 881U aircard thru AT&T. My isp is Bellsouth. I am
running Vista Home Premium, SP1 on a Acer 5920G laptop and using Outlook
2007. When I am home, I am able to send/receive no problems. At home I use
the built in WiFi to connect. Away from home, when using the aircard,
internet connectivity is fine, and I am able to receive emails, just not able
to send.
This is the error that I get: "The connection to the server was interrupted.

Outlook 2007 data files, archives, folders cluster
My Outlook 2007 (Vista Ultimate) is configured for one POP e-mail account but
I've completely hosed it up with 14 data files configured, some of which are
partial duplicates.
I am also showing 14 folders open in the mail folders box. Three of these
are "Archive Folder" but the other 11 have names that look a like the file
names I've assigned over the years. Needless to say, I'm having a lot of
"Outlook 2007 is not responding" situations and many times, outlook starts
with the message that a data file or archive was "not closed properly" last
time it was shut down.
Under Calendar items, I have 9 items under "My Calendars". These all have
unique names and only one is checked and it has the title of "Calendar".
When calendar reminders come up, they appear three times identical. When I
dismiss one, all three disappear.
Under Contacts, I have 5 items under My Contacts all with unique titles.
For e-mail, contacts, and calendars, I would like to consolidate with one
active file and another much larger file for archives I could search on for
future reference. Getting there without losing any information is where I
need help. Can you tell me how to:
1)Consolidate into one active and one archive file?
2)Eliminate duplicate e-mail, calendar items and contacts?
3)Configure Outlook 2007 so performance and reliability are improved?
BTW, I have backed up all the files and also have several older backups on
different hard drives that would ideally be consolidated as well.
What is this "mail applet" I'm reading about in some of the other posts?
Would I need to use it for my situation?

Recieving emails problem
Hi Everybody,
I just updtated my OS to Vista and reinstalled my office programms now I
can't receive emails . I created my account in outlook correctly and using
its test button it seems everything is fine but when I open outlook there is
no email in its inbox, and it doesn't load any email ! any asuggestions?

connecting to exchange sbs2003
we have Office 2007 on XP, SP2. we have set up our outlook for rpc/http over
the internet and all of the settings are correct (same settings on other
towers also.)
our connection to the server is flaky at best (sometimes it connects and
other times it does not.) if we use the vpn, it works fine.
i tried to set the vpn up so that it establishes the vpn automatically from
the connections tab, but no luck. any suggestions to set up the vpn
automatically from outlook so that it disconnects when outlook closes?

Outlook 2003 User Accounts
Have set up seperate accounts and profiles for myself and wife and configured
to ask for which profile to use. After boot up of the computer and click on
outlook it asks to choose the profile and enter password. However, if I close
outlook and reopen, it goes directly to the profile which had just been
opened (does not give a choice of profile or ask for password). If I restart
the computer, outlook then works properly and ask to select a profile when
it opens.

How Do I Turn Off Autodiscover?
We have started installing Outlook 2007 on a small network with Exchange
2003. We are starting to get certificate warnings about
autodiscover.mydomain.com, but we simply want to stop Outlook from
autodiscovering anything. How do we turn this off?
Autodiscover seems to be largely a waste in our case. Not only are we are
more than capable of typing in the server name (quicker than setting up or
troubleshooting autodiscover), but Outlook is trying to "discover" when the

We us Outlook 2K3 and Exchange 2K3. We have set up several shared calendars
allowing 'Reviewer' priveleges to 95% of the users sharing them. Our problem
is that 100% of the users can still add to, edit and delete from any calendar

Outlook 2007 Client partially in wrong lanquage
Hi
Suggest this is stricly Client issue, not SBS 2003 / Exchange 2003. A new
customer for me.
Some of WSs has Outlook 2007 (Office 2007 (Eng?)) installed in XP Pro Eng
laptops. For some reason some parts of the Outlook 2007 is in Finish. There
is also BCM installed to some machines but at least its installation lanquage
seems to be English.
Eg. in two email accounts machine I can see one Inbox in English and another
in Finish. Is there a way to turn the whole Office (computer) to English as
they wish.

I am trying to connect a user using outlook 2007 to his exchange 2007 maibox
and outlook consistently says "The connection to microsoft exchange is
unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action"
This is on vista. It is really ticking me off because there is no reason it
should not work. I know the account works because I have connected outlook
to it on a different computer. The particular computer had XP but I dont see
why that would matter. I saw a KB article saying something about this
between outlook 2007 and Exchange 2003 and the zeroconfig registry setting
but this is exchange 2007.

Filing missing
I have installed Office pro plus 2007. After my computer does any automatic
update on anything, I get the following message when I try to open Outlook:
"This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Re-installing it does fix the problem until my computer runs another update.

Trouble after using on-line tutorial
Initially after upgrading from 2000 to 2007 outlook seemed to work properly.
Some time later I tried using the on-line tutorial and I think this is where
the troubles started. (I may have used the tutorial with Outlook open but I'm
not sure)
Indications:
When I start Outlook, immediately after the Outlook logo comes up, a
dialogue box headed Microsoft LDAP Directory comes up with one tab labled
Connection details and the following:
Server name: NULL
Port: 3286
User name: NULL
Password: (this is blank)
The Secure Password Authentication box is unchecked.
Pressing OK, Cancel, or exiting makes the box go away and Outlook starts to
open. Before opening is complete a pop-up from the Outlook symbol on the task
bar bears the message: "There was a problem reading one or more of your
reminders. Some reminders may not appear"
Exiting the pop-up Outlook appears normal with the Calendar and iminent
appointments shown in the To-Do pane but in the pane where the tasks should
be there is a message "The operation failed. An object could not be found"
In addition there is no reminder of appointments and they seem to clear
themselves on expiry,
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling and detect and repair to no avail.
I've raised this issue previously (26th March) with no response except that
today (21st May) Owensnig has said he is experiencing a similar difficulty.

I have customized the view of my Inbox with the columns just the way I want

I have had to reinstall Windows XP Professional. I loaded office 2003 and
when I started Outlook I got the following message:
The add-in"C:/Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\KEMMAPI.dll" could not be

Lost program
help... just out of the blue, as far as I know, I just lost my outlook
express program. I can find outlook but I cannot find Express. I have tried
to dowload Internet explorer 7 as from what I read Express is part of IE. But
when i extract and run IE7 i still cannot find outlook express. Any advice
would be greatly appreciated.

Journaling - Need help getting Office 2003 apps with Outlook 2007
Can someone kindly tell me how to get Office 2003 apps to work with the
Outlook 2007 journaling function? It had been working for me, but it is
lately not recording use of 2003 apps.
I would appreciate any help and configruation advice or workarounds to get
this working again.

PF Backup
Trying to install PF Backup to Outlook on Office 2007 suite on computer
running Windows XP Pro (all updates and security patches for OS and Office
are up to date). Program states it can not load untill existing program is
unistalled - auto uninstall fails and prompts me to uninstall via "add/remove
software" on control panel. Never installed program until the initial
attempt today.
Program not located in "add/remove software" list. Not located under "file"
tab in Outlook. Attempted to reload .dll - not located in registry.
Attempted to remove install program via "windows install clean up" - PF
Backup not listed.
I want to install the PF Backup program, but I do not know how to correct

Rules and Alerts dialog fails to launch
When I click on Rules and Alerts in the Tools menu, a dialog appears and

MAPI error in opening Outlook 2003

I´m using normally "Windows live Mail" als standard. Now I installed
Office 2003 but when I try to open the Outlook 2003 I got the error message:
"Unable to open your defoult e-mail folders.An unespected error has
occurred. MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dlll. Be
sure the service is correctly installed and configured."

My Outlook Express all messed up.
Outlook Express worked fine when my isp was cable one, but after switching
to quest, I could only use their web-based email (@q.com). ... outlook
express receives the same emails, but otherwise is inoperative and seems to
retain its cable one identity, even to the point of displaying "volante cable
one" (Volante is my wife's email user name.) Tech support through Quest
could not resolve this; I'm hoping someone here can.

Outlook 2007 email import
I just installed outlook 2007 and set it as my default before I realized it.
It downloaded all my SBC / ATT email and removed it from their server. Is
there a way to put the messages back on the server? (About 900 messages) I

Outlook / MS Office upgrade and data transfer question...
I am looking at upgrading from MS Office Professional 2003 applications to MS
Office Small Business 2007. My biggest concern is the transfer of
information in my Outlook during this upgrade. I have a great many
Categories, custom color codes for the calendar, and a great number of
individual Folders where I file copies of client and vendor communications.
The last time I did an upgrade I saved, what I thought was EVERYTHING within
Outlook to a .pst file on my hard drive (which I was told was copied
completely), and then tried reloading them to the upgraded version. During
that time my contacts transferred, but not their categories and I had to
recategorize everyone and refill their personal information within the
"business cards" in that database. Most of my calendar dates/appointments
transferred, but again the color coding was all askew and not every
appointment transferred. My tasks did not transfer. My favorites transferred
but I had to recatorgize. And... NONE of my folders transferred. As I've now
almost doubled the amount of information within each of these areas, and with
the upgrade telling me I need to completely uninstall Outlook 2003 in order
to install 2007, I'm extremely afraid I'm going to lose a lot of sensitive
information.

outlook 2003 synchronization errors - 8004011B-3EE-8004011B-560
Hi,
I have a user that when their Cached Exchange Mode is on its not updating
the inbox past a certain date.
I have created a new profile and also deleted the OST file on the computer
but it just sets up a new one with the same error.
I also have "Waiting to update this folder" constantly on the status bar.
Also I have tried the OST Repair service but get the following error :

It didn't wipe out your data, it created a new PST. Use the Mail applet in
Control Panel to point the profile back at your existing PST.
