I recently installed MS Office 2007 Professional Plus using our work group
licence. Instal went fine and all programs are working fine EXCEPT Outlook.
When I open outlook it says: â??Unable to configure MS Exchangeâ?? and then it
says â??unable to configure default mail settingsâ?? and will not allow me to try
and do anything else...

Anyone had this issue before? Any ideas?
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Kirsty

Do you have an Exchange Server account to connect Outlook to? If not, you
need to either remove the Exchange Server account from your Outlook profile
or create a new Outlook profile without the Exchange Server service.

Hi Hal or anyone
Hoping you can help, please note that I'm not terribly computer literate
recently I got a message that Outlook encountered a problem and must close.
I've gotten this message before and after a bit of time Outlook always comes
back up and runs no problem. This time it just doesn't want to connect so I
uninstall my Office suite and re-install it figuring that whatever the
problem this will take care of it. The installation goes fine but I get this
message that says the "We are unable to access configuration to MC Personal
Web server" I'm assuming that this is what is causing my problems to see my
e-mail in Outlook. Any ideas on how I can go about trying to connect with
this Personal Wen server so I can access Outlook. Any help would be greatly
appreciated

Thanks in advance

Ken

Uninstalling and re-installing Office or Outlook seldom (if ever) fixes
problems. That error usually comes from FrontPage, when an attempt is made
to install server extensions or the MS personal web server which will not
install on Windows XP Home. Uninstall FrontPage and do a custom re-install
without the FP Server Extensions and the MS personal web server.

Thanks for your quick reply Hal but as I had stated earlier not very tech
saavy. The Office Suite i am using is MS Office 2000 Premium and I don't
think that front page was on this version. I went to my Control panel to
uninstall FP and MS Personal Web Server but couldn't find either. Any other
suggestions are greatly welcome. Many thanks

Well, I have "Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium" on this old Windows 98 PC
I'm currently using and I very definitely have FrontPage 2000 installed as
part of it. To remove it, start Office Setup (you can do this from
Add/Remove as well as with the install CD) and uncheck FrontPage. Setup
will start in Maintenance Mode allowing you to "Repair Office", "Add or
Remove Features" (this is the one you want, here you can remove individual
programs from the suite), or "Remove Office".
