    - MS-Outlook: Passwords fails first time only I am running MS-Outlook 2002 under Vista and have a seperate server for POP and SMTP. The first time I attempt to send or receive e-mail, I am challenged for my password (on both servers). I provide the password and it is rejected.     - Outlook 2003 - what happens to messages w/ Exchange and POP accoun Hi, Question for the group. I am on an exchange server and have several pop accounts set up in Outlook 2003. I have a rule to move the POP messages to a personal folder upon receipt. Exchange is the default mailbox because that is the one connected to my blackberry. Couple questions: Does outlook put the message directly into the personal folder (i.e. it never touches the exchange post), or does it write it to the exchange post first and then move it? If the latter, when the rule applies and the message is moved to the personal folder, does any record of the POP message stay in the exchange box or no? I have multiple accounts, but I am sensitive to not putting personal email into exchange. All help appreciated, as I would much prefer to use Outlook than Thunderbird to read my pop mail accounts.     - "550 Relaying denied" for Outlook but not for Thunderbird Hi guys, The problem I face is error message "550 Relaying denied" that appear when I use school's email (the school's email use Novel email) but it won't appear I use Gmails. This error problem appear for Outlook 2007 only. However, If I use Mozilla Thunderbird, with same existing 3 email accounts, the error messeage won't appear when I use both Gmail and school's email.     - Navigation Pane On one computer the Navigation Pane shows FOLDER LIST followed by ALL FOLDERS followed by ALL OUTLOOK ITEMS. For the life of me, I can't duplicate that on my other computer.     - Outllok 2003 and Terminal Services - user settings will not stick I have installed Office 2003 on our terminal servers (under console logon) - we access the servers via RDP. If I log in and change the reading pane or add archive files or any user configuration, it stays while the session is open but as soon as you log off and back in again Outlook re-sets itself. If I use the administration account that I installed the software with, the settings do stick. Has anyone come across this before or is aware of a solution ?     - Cannot find Outgoing Server I have Outlook 2003 configured with my Comcast account as default and it has worked fine for 3+ years. In the past 2 days I have been prompted to 'Enter Network Password' for the Outgoing (SMTP) mail server. Clicking OK gets me nowhere and eventually I am told that the server did not recognize my userid/pw. However, these are recognized at Comcast's webmail. There is no problem with two other e-mail accounts that I have with other ISPs. I have had three Chat sessions with Comcast who tell me that my settings are correct and that there is a problem with Outlook and that I should contact Microsoft. I do not accept this diagnosis, and will apprecaite any suggestions from you. I am currently in Europe (where the connection worked fine until Friday) and I am accessing the internet through a wireless router to my broadband connection to BT. Thanks.     - Installed Outlook 2007 and it wont connect to the internet I have a brand new computer and have just installed Microsoft Office 2007. When I go to Outlook 2007, I am asked to enter the microsoft exchange server and mailbox, which I have. When I press "check name" this error box pops up: 'The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.' I know that one way to make Outlook online is to use the 'help' tab, BUT I can't even open up any part of Outlook to get to the help button.     - Can't set personal contact folder as Outlook Address Book (v2007) After adding a Mobile Contacts file in the Account settings, I deleted the default personal contacts assigned as the address book. I then tried to use ANY other contact file in my personal folders as the outlook address book. In each case, in the properties, the option is greyed out. I did not try public contacts, of course.     - How do I get my Microsoft Exchange connection to work in Outlook . My company uses Microsoft Exchange--Office Outlook Web Account for our e-mail. I had to purchase a new computer and now I can not interface with my companies e-mail, even though my set-up is exactly what the company gave me.     - Automatic Outlook 2007 Add-In Disabling/Removal & "Settings" Reg K I'm looking for a way to automatically disable an Outlook 2007 Add-In (McAfee) which is crashing Outlook when a new message is opened. I've not yet been able to figure out how to disable or remove an add-in automatically or centrally. Is there a way to script this or deploy it through GPO or a registry entry? I used Windiff to determine that the "Settings" hex value within the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook key changed when I manually disabled the add-in, but I'm not sure how to decode that key to determine how to duplicate that change on other workstations.     - Outlook 2007 .pst file size set wrong I upgraded from OE to Outlook 2003 to 2007. Now the 2007 .pst file size seems to be limiting us at the 2GB size. I followed the Microsoft Knowledge Base article saying to change the registry keys: [i]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12. 0\Outlook\PST[/i] [i]MaxLargeFileSize WarnLargeFileSize MaxFileSize, and WarnFileSize[/i] The problem is that the registry key I have only goes up to the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft The article says that you "may have to create" some of the keys if they are missing. Is there a better way to get the .pst file set to the larger UNICODE setting? Am I looking at this correctly? I was thinking that perhaps I need to simply create a new .pst file and then archive all emails and folders into that file - hoping it would be set to the UNICODE file settings.     - Rule Issue I'm trying to configure a rule that will move a message to a particular folder when it comes from a user in a specific address book. I have the rule configured, but am having trouble getting it working. All other rules work just fine (at least the ones I've tested). What happens is if I check the connection status (ctrl + right click the Outlook Icon in the System tray) I notice that i'm pointing to DC1 (PDC, Global Catalog, RID, Infrstructure, and all DC's in the domain are GC's). If I click reconect, and the directory connections change to DC2 and then run the rule it will work but any time i'm pointing to DC1 the rule will not work. We are running Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2003. Hope someone has a suggestion as I have no errors or indications that anything is broken on the DC. Thank you very much in advance!     - I can't sync my outlook and sympatico accounts with eachother I have been working fine on outlook but in the last couple fo days - it has stopped syncing with my sympatico e-mail. It goes into "preparing to send/receive" and then doesn't come out.     - 2003 and 2007 Working Together I have the older version of Outlook and when I schedule an appt. and send the request to my associate he recieves an email and can confirm, so the appt appears on his calendar as well as mine. However, if he schedules an appt the invite attendees letter I recieve is a bunch of jumbo and it does not give me the option to accept nor place it on my schedule.     - Vista + Outlook 2007 unable to connect Exchange! HELP PLEASE! Hello. HELP ME PLEASE. It is quite critical. I need to decide should I throw out the Windows Vista (ask for money back, etc) and rollback to XP or is it possible to make it working on Vista?... Now about the situation: --------------------------- It is a new computer with Windows Vista Business SP1. I just installed all stuff I need for work - Visual Studio, Office 2007, VmWare, CheckPoint SecuClient (NGX R60 Sp2) etc. Then checked for Windows Updates and installed all latest updates for Windows, Office, Visual Studio, etc - just all updates Windows suggested to install. I sucessfully configured CheckPoint SecuClient VPN-1 to connect remote office, and added my computer to the domain. Now I'm logging in as domain user (with Administrator permissions) and after VPN is turned on I can map remote network disks, access computers in office using Remote Desktop, etc. BUT(!!!) I CANNOT CONFIGURE Exchange Mail Account for Outlook 2007! :-(((( It is always report one of the errors: --- 1) The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. --- 2) The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. --- 3) Your server or mailbox names cannot be resolved. --- To configure Exchange mail account I' using this way: Control Panel -> Mail -> E-mail accounts... -> New... -> [...] -> Manually configure... -> [enter Exchange server name and my account Exchange name ("Bondarenko, Dmitry")] -> click [Check Name]... here is 20 sec delay and(!) I got mentioned error message. :-\ I have searched internet for such problem, found some recomendations, tried all but unfortunately still have the same problem. :-\ I tried these ones: a) recommendations in "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843" - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\RPC\[DefConnectOpts]=0; b) recommendations in "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935400/" - "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable" and "netsh int tcp set global chimney=disable"; c) firewall is turned off, UAC turned off, also I uninstalled antivirus software but nothing changed - it still reports the same problem. Also I ensured: 1) the "ping exsrvxx" command works fine; 2) the "ping exsrvxx.our-domains.com" command works fine; 3) the "ping -a exchange_IP" command works fine (back resolve); 4) the old computer with Windows XP and Office 2003 working fine; 5) also I tried my old laptop with Windows XP and Office 2007 - it works fine. Thus, I assume the problem is exactly in the link Vista + Outlook 2007. The SysInternals TcpView utility shows that it established connection to epmap port on exchnage server, then it wait 15-20 sec and reports mentioned error. Thus, it looks like - it able to find Exchange server but then it fail by some reason. Network configuration is following: 4 computers in home network connected to D-Link 624+ router which is connected to cable modem which is connected to internet. As I already said - old computer with WinXP+Office2003 (and old laptop with WinXP+Office2007) working fine - I can remove Exchange mail account and add it again there. But the new computer with Vista + Office 2007 unable to connect Exchange. :-( Looks like it is a problem of Office 2007 on Vista... but the question - is it possible to make it working or should I rollback to XP?     - Trouble sending emails (recipients not receiving them) I have Outlook 2007/ Vista with Comcast Internet service. I can receive email, but when I most people are not receiving my emails. No error message and they are not being sent back. I am both replying to their email and starting a new email...I have moved from my PC to an older laptop and now to a brand new 64bit computer. I had this issue start when I was with Infoquest. I thought it was an issue with them. I changed my email address and changed over to Comcast as my mail server. I let Outlook configure the email account. In the beginnning, outgoing and incoming work fine. Within one day my outgoing our not being received by recipients. I have removed my router and connected directly through my modem. I let it cycle off for five minutes and restarted my computer. This issue has occurred on three computers, each with Outlook. I can send and receive just fine when I am the web mail server with Comcast. The 'test email' works as well. Comcast said that the 'use following type encryption' should be 'SSL.' The default when Outlook configures is 'TLS.' Current configuration is outgoing: 995, incoming: 587. box is checked 'this server requires encyrpted' and box is checked 'outgoing server requires authentication.' I have tried using defaults: 110, 25 and does not need authentication...still does not work. If I change to 'SSL' and test account settings I get an error stating ' server does not support the connection encyrption type you have specified. try changing encryption method' Three different machines with three different Outlooks would point me towards user error. I have been using Outlook with Infoquest and same email account for three years...no issues. Issue just started last week. I changed mail service, removed my router and am able to receive email just fine.     - Can't receive e-mail today I just got a refurbished Dell Precision laptop with XP Pro, and was able to set up my Outlook using the instructions on my usa.net account. It brought in all of the e-mail that I had there and continued to pick up my e-mail for the rest of the weekend. Today, even though I can go to usa.net and see that there is e-mail there, hitting the send/receive button does nothing at all to bring it in. I even changed my setting to retrieve mail from every 5 minutes to every 1 minute and nothing is happening. I have sent test e-mails from my work e-mail to my personal e-mail and that is working fine. I can also send successfully from my newly-configured Outlook on my laptop.     - Problem Digital Signing Encrypting I have a user based problem, one user is affected only. This user is unable to sign or encrypt, nor receive encrypted e-mails. E-mail cert is installed and verified properly (we have 6000 users with certificates, we know how to install certs). In outlook 2003, user is not given the option to encrypt to sign e-mails. These buttons and all options where they can be found in various menus are greyed out. However, the certificate is listed just fine and configured properly in the security options. Again no other users have this problem on this workstation. I am currently checking to see if the user is able to sign e-mails at another workstation, but I am waiting for someone to make that happen in the meantime. Any help appreciated.     - Transferring from OE to Outlook 2003 I helped a friend import settings from OE to Outlook 2003. All OK. Then I imported all messages and contacts. (Both using the File/Import-Export command). The contacts seem to all be there and the personal file folders he had created are there. Most of the messages that were in either the default Outlook folders (ie Inbox and Deleted items) or his personal folders were transferred, but not all of them.     - Accessing Outlook from network computers Hi I have a small network, 3 desktops and 2 laptops. One of the desktops is running Vista Home Premium, the others are all on XP Home - apart from one of the laptops which is a Mac. Currently we all access email via Outlook on the PC with Vista set up in separate user areas. That is, each of us log on to our area and receive only our own emails in Outlook. We would like to be able to access our own Outlook, and use the calendars etc, from any of the PCs on the network, as we do at work. Is the only way of doing this by installing MS Exchange Server?     - What do I need to do I just got off the phone with IT and they told me that olk 2007 is not approved software. That being said, nether is half the software I use on my work computer (I have admin rights on my laptop) I work for a large company and we use an exchange server. I own a ok 2007 on my own. If I install it, will my old messages pull over? Will I still be able to get mail? What questions do I need to ask or settings change to do this? Outlook 2007 standalone (with all updates installed) with Office H&S 2007. I
just reinstalled my system and when I installed Outlook, the calendar in the
to-do bar (pane) is extremely small. The font is tiny. Everything else is
okay. It wasn't like that previously. How do I change the font/size of that
calendar?
