    - My ISP says my Outlook 07 needs to be set up for internet email I have gone into ad d& install programs and added everything I could see but there was not a setting specifically so outlook could accept email from internet provides such as my web hosting or gmail.     - RPC Over HTTP question about certificate I have set this up on one client but having trouble with the second client. The second client has a website that is hosted offsite. The certificate that is created by the sbs 2003 is www.domain.com. The external site I go to is mail.domain.com. I go to the website and trust the certificate but it gives me a certificate error "mismatched address" I assume this is because my certificate says www and not mail. Is there anyway around this?     - I get copies of emails I replied to on my msn account in my inbox I have Office 2003 on my work laptop. We use Exchange server. I have also configured it to check both of my MSN accounts. Whenever I reply to a message in my MSN accounts, I get a copy of the message I sent mailed back to me in the account I sent it from. This only happens with my MSN accounts, not my Exchange server account. And it only happens when I reply to a message, not when I create a new one. I think it has to be some sort of set up issue since it also happens on my home computer where I have Office 2007. Anyone have any ideas?     - Re-installing Outlook2007 Hi I installed Office SBE2007 but could not get Outlook to work so uninstalled it and put 2003 back. I have now figured out the problem with 2007 and want to install it. I put the disk in the PC but it will not allow me to select Outlook 2007. It just has the red cross and unavailable next to.     - Outlook 2003 crashes at startup Dear All I have Outlook 2003 SP2 on laptop (cached mode) and it keeps crashing at startup (application hang in event viewer). I do not want to uninstall and re-install Office 2003 as this user has tweaked their outlook so much that it will be a headache to put it back. If I try and install SP3 for Office 2003 it fails with msi errors, this is where the issue is. Has anyone seen this issue beofre?     - Outlook Connector - Sound Notification Setup I just downloaded the Outlook Connector today and is working great! All with exception to the "New Mail Alert" setup. I read that it will notify to the default account only - so fine (rather it be for all accounts but....). I've also confirmed my Windows Vista Sound settings, and all is well there; but when receiving a new message I get nothing. Not even the lil' envelope in the Icon Tray (which I've also set to display). So, any help for me out there, or is this just another lil' "quirk" we have to wait a fix for?     - How to move your .pst from one partition to another? When I installed Outlook, my .pst file was, by default, placed on my Windows drive. I actually would like to have it on a second partition instead. When I copy it over to the new partition, and then change the location setting in Outlook (through Tools-->Account Settings-->Change Folder), Outlook doesn't remember the changes, reports several errors and doesn't seem able to download new e-mail. I'm switching back to my original settings in the meantime, but I'm sure there's something simple I've missed that would make it possible to switch to a new location. Any suggestions?     - Operation failed due to a registry or installation problem Hi, I accidentally deleted operating system files while freeing capacity on my C drive so I had to reinstall my operating system (XP) and MS Office Professional Edition 2003. Microsoft Outlook is still giving me problems after the reinstallation. When I try to create a new email profile, I get an error message: "The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall". I tried creating a new email profile per the following links: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315048/en-us http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287072/en-us and a few different links on the discussion board, however, when I get to the point "7. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next," the software/computer will not allow me to make any adjustments to this dialogue box.     - Outlook 2003 cannot send email This problem started yesterday morning about 1000. Previously, Outlook has worked without fail for about 6 months, when I had to replace a failing harddrive with a clean install. If I try to send an email, the send fails with the error 0x80042109. If I send a 'test your settings' email, I get a more verbose message that says the server was found, but did not respond. Now, the details: I found 2 articles about the error 0x80042109 that talked about 'being on the MSN network and trying to send through another system', but I have no connection to MSN. I have my own domain name and email address package through 'Godaddy'. There are two other email addresses in this domain/email package that are unaffected. Yesterday I spent about 2 hours on the phone with 'Godaddy' tech support, examined all settings, tried alternate port of 587 and 3535 for SMTP and finally, the tech said I should call my ISP. The theory being that, since everything was in order, Comcast must be blocking my access. Since I'm not using Comcast's email system, I found this puzzling, but called them anyway. Comcast checked the line and pinged my modem and pronounced it 'not their problem'. I have run a 'detect and repair' that 'Completed Successfully' and a 'scanpst.exe' that found 6 errors that it repaired, with no change in the problem. I disables the windows firewall and the Avast antivirus v. 4.8 and still doesn't work. I waited overnight to see if the problem disappeared as glitches sometime do, but no joy. Interestingly enough, Outlook automatically does a 'Send/Receive' at 5 minute intervals, and the email I had been trying to send for 24 hours, went out at 0959. I tried to send another test email, and clunk, broke again. Doing an 'Outlook /safe' does not solve the problem and I finally uninstalled Office 2003, I thought completely. I then turned off the computer and disconnected the power for 5 minutes. I then turned the computer back on and reinstalled Office 2003, and much to my surprise, all my settings were still there, so I really didn't get a complete uninstall. At this point I am completely out of ideas. If anyone has seen anything like this (and knows the solution), any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.     - Sort Distribution List by Last Name, First Name I have my Contact sorted by Last Name, First Name and would like to have my Distribution Lists sorted the same, i.e., Last Name, First Name. I used to be able to do this in earlier versions of Outlook, but cannot find an option to change the sort for Distribution Lists in Outlook 2007.     - Outlook 2007 Crashes on Startup Installed Office 07 on new Acer Aspire 5715 laptop - no other software installed; no hardware peripherals installed. On starting Outlook goes into Configuration process then asks to reboot. After rebooting it repeats the same process. Neither will it start in Safe Mode.     - Unable to start processing services.Unable to start Outlook.Unable Hi, I've a problem with Outlook 2007. I tried (in vain) to add the mail2web exchange server, not knowing OWA wasn't included in the free service I subscribed for Windows Mobile's direct push. Apparently it wasn't a matter as I simply couldn't add anything because Outlook couldn't connect/check my user name. Closing the 'email' window I opened from control panel I opened Outlook again. It crashed 4-5 times, much for Windows to send further details about the crashes to Microsoft. I accepted. After some tries, it simply opened without crashing but here it is the surprise: --------------------------- Microsoft Office Outlook --------------------------- Unable to start processing services. Unable to start Outlook. Unable to find a data file to send and receive mail. To add a data file, for example a file of personal folders, double click on the 'email' icon into Control Panel of Windows. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- It doesn't crash any more, my old email are there, data files are there too, so there are all accounts, and no traces of the exchange server I had tried to add. Simply, Outlook doesn't receive nor send anything, if I try to send something I receive a message telling he doesn't find data files and if I try to send/receive it prints a message for every account: Unable to complete the activity *email-address* - Sending and receiving (0x8004010F): "Unable to execute the operation. Unable to find an object." I found a very old MS KB which says to delete Offitems.log and/or Outitems.log but if refers to Outlook 2000, and I can't find those files anywhere.     - Setting up 2 email accounts Hi. I installed Outlook and set up my 2 Comcast email accounts under one Profile; both are listed under Tools/Account Settings. But my Mail folders are only showing downloaded mail from my default primary Comcast account; I can't seem to locate any folders or email from my second email account.     - Mail Accounts I've successfully added two of my three email accounts, and the third (the most important one) worked for a day or two and then it only received but could not send from that particular account, then stopped receiving.     - Salvaging Outlook data from hard disk for new PC installation My PC's motherboard went belly up the other day. It was a Windows XP Home PC running Office 2002. Now I have a new PC, same O/S, and I would like to, if possible, recreate my email files. I can access my old disk but I can't boot off of it. I have installed Outlook 2002 on my new PC successfully. The question is, what files can I move from my old hard disk to my new PC in order to recreate, as closely as possible, my old email files, folders and settings?     - Product key not accepted for Outlook 2007 CD installation Trying to install new Outlook 2007 CD - when asked for Product Key from package, when I type in the number I think is the key, tells me that "0's" are invalid digits in Product Key. Then I try a different number from sticker-- tells me that "1's" are invalid digits in Product Key. This is a shared PC and after selecting the profile, the userid defaults to the last person signed on.     - Add new email accounts to my Microsoft Outlook 2007 I just downloaded the trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional. I am able to open and use all the programs. I have three email addresses that I would like to add to Outlook. Two work accounts and my personal gmail account. I have checked and rechecked all of my entries and I am unable to send or receive. In fact, the button to create a new email is grayed out. I have contacted my ISP as the software has suggested. I walked through the process with the technician, but we were unable to achieve a positive result and I was referred back to Microsoft.     - OL 2007 does not terminate correctly Hi, I have this once-per-three annoyance with closing OL 2007, when I log out, XP prompts me to kill OL2007 even though it has dissappeard from the task bar.     - Out fo Office Assistant for Outlook Connector for Domino Hi, Im am a user of Outlook Connector for Domino. The option of out of office assistant doesnt seem to work for me. I have the permision as that possed by the designer in lotus notes (ver 6.5.2). But my name is not mentioned as a designer. Now my real issue is that, wen i click on out of office assistant, it pops up an error that "You need to have designer or higher permissions to enable this." But i already have more permissions that the designer level but not as much as the admin. However i do not fall under either of these categories. So i think outlook should check for the permission an individual user has seperately and not blindly check which group he belongs to. Am i right here or am i doing something wrong. PS: The out of office tool works if i try it in Lotus notes. But thats not the point here right.     - Outlook 2007 with Exhange 2007 - laptop config recommendation I've been gradually configuring the office desktop systems to run in domain mode and use Outlook 2007 to access e-mail on an Exchange 2007 server. I'm about ready to start configuring laptop computers and would like a recommendation. First I want to say that the only reason we've implemented active directory and a network domain is to make accessing mail easier for the users of Outlook 2007. All work files are stored on Netware servers and the only time a workstation accesses the domain is to get e-mail. With that said, I figure I have two options for setting up the laptops so that their users can access e-mail residing on the Exchange 2007 server. 1) Install Outlook 2007. Log the user's laptop into the office domain. Have Outlook create an Exchange type e-mail account/connection. This is used when the user is in the office. When out of the office, user relies on OWA. 2) Install Outlook 2007 and configure it for Outlook Anywhere access, whether the user is in the office and connected to the network (but not as a domain user) or outside of the office Any recommendations on which would be the better way to handle laptop access to the mail server? After I click on "check name", the error message pops up: "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action".     - Outlook asking to configure emails / previous configurations gone Each time I open my new Outlook (2007), it asks me to configure email accounts. I have already done this twice (and each time the information is lost when I re-open Outlook). I have also lost all previous email (both imported from Outlook 2003 on old computer and emails received and sent in previous session on new computer).     - Personal Folders Backup (Add In) Recently installed Office 2003 to a new Vista Premium computer. Was able to restore my original .pst file from old computer and everything so far works fine. Also installed the Personal Folders Backup tool from Microsoft that I have been using for my backup. When I execute the backup I no longer see the progress dialog box, however, the backup.outlook.pst is created with the proper size and date. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?     - How can my BlackBerry delete messages from both it and Outlook? I use Outlook 2003 and have a BlackBerry 8800 that I love except for one problem. When I read and delete email messages on the BB, it gives a choice of deleting from the handheld only or from both the handheld and the server. I click to delete most messages from both. RoadRunner tells me that this does, indeed, delete the message from the server. BUT, when I get back to my PC and open Outlook, the deleted messages are still there. This is a major pain after a long trip when 230 emails that I don't want to see are still waiting on my PC. Can anyone help me avoid this problem?
