    - Outlook Send/Receive files (outlook.srs) query... We are running Outlook 2007 on client machines with Exchange 2007 Ent. Ed. server. Our users application data folders are re-directed to a network share. We've noticed that the \\servername\sharename$\application data\microsoft\outlook folders for all of our users contain numerous outlook.srs files. Doing a search for SRS files on this share finds literally thousands of these files (our user base is around 400). I understand that these are files related to Send/Recieve settings. However, our users only use a single outlook profile and the Outlook profile that was rolled out to all client machines contains no specific Send/Recieve settings. Each time a user logs on and starts Outlook for the first time, an addtional outlook SRS file is created (file name is appended with a tilde [~] and incrementing numbers) and the original is retained.     - Message Rules Changed when brought from Express I just moved from Express to Outlook and imported all of the rules and everything else except the blocked senders list which seems impossible to do. When the rules are brought into Outlook all of the rules that used the (and/or) function in the rule have been changed to just and. Now where I had multiple things being looked for with the rule using the or function it has been changed to and. This makes these rules not work right.     - Using ALT(R) key for Korean language Hi i am uing office 2007 and having problem with autoimatic laguage change with Korean only with outlook 2007 if i press the Alt (R) key. other than outlook, word, excel, and other application, ALT(R) always change to english to korean or korean to english but outlook keep changes to english after the few character i type and then if i press the key ALT (R) then some strange infomation appears on top of menu. therefore i have to change the language with mouse in stead using ALT(R) any advise ?     - Cannot find pst-file in 2003 after uninstalling 2007 Problems in short: I cannot use Outlook 2003 after uninstalling Outlook 2007. Also I cannot locate the pst-file. Detailed version: I first installed and used Outlook 2007. Thereafter I installed Outlook 2003. It automatically overtook the data from 2007, no problem there. When starting 2003, after uninstalling 2007, the program was â??reinstalledâ??. Everything looks ok, but I get the message: â??The operation failedâ?? when trying to; - Import and Export - Open up E-mail accounts - Open Outlook data file And when trying to Send/Receive messages I get the message: â??The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem. â?¦ If the problem persists, please reinstall.â??     - OUTLOOK WILL NOT ACCESS EXCHANGE IN TERMINAL SERVER OUTLOOK WILL NOT ACCESS EXCHANGE IN TERMINAL SERVER I set up a new profile in terminal server 2003, get to the exchnage with outlook and when I go back in it says it can not find exchange. Client pc's have no issue.     - Using Outlook Msg as a file Hi, My customer has been using Outlook 2003 with Windows XP. For years he has used "drag&drop" to move Outlook messages to the appropriate My Documents sub folder to keep a record of his client information. The messages have attachments like pdf, pps, wmv, etc. He could easily click on the file document to open Outlook and then click on the attachment to run the pdf, pps, etc. I have refreshed his computer with Outlook 2007 with VISTA Business. Now he can still read attachments to messages in Outlook. After "drag&drop" he still can read messages in his document sub folders. However, now he can't open the attachments. If he moves the message back into Outlook he again can read the attachments. We would like to be able to allow some people with Administrative accounts to set the filter to "Safe Lists Only". Can you provide me with the registry setting to set this option?     - outlook slows down when doing 'save as' we are running outlook 2002. It works fine, but one user has an issue when they try to save an attachment, and they do a save as, it takes forever for the pulldown to appear... it is processing, it justt akes a real long time.     - After installing office 2007 - the paper doesnt come correct out Hey guys. Does anyone of you have experience in having problems after installing the new office 2007 standard edition, that the paper prints out of the wrong tray, eventhough I have set the print settings to for example : tray 3 - and no matter how much I try, the paper comes out of tray 1 ?!     - OUTLOOK 2007 VISTA PROBLEMS AFTER OUTLOOK CONNECTOR INSTALLED sINCE PURCHASING A NEW SYSTEM WITH VISTA AND OFFICE 2007 OUTLOOK WILL NOT WORK.     - Outlook 2007 will not open except in safe mode - new problem I installed Office 2007 several months ago and have been using with no problem at all. Suddenly -for no apparent reason when I shut down or restart normally (i.e., closing all programs and choosing shut down or restart) - when I restart Outlook will not open... it gets to a certain point and then it just freezes. If I try to do anything else, the entire computer freezes. When I hold the power button to shut it off, then turn it back on, I get the message that Outlook did not shut down properly and I can open in safe mode. I do that, but do not have all the functionality. I've put my Office 2007 disk in and run the repair option several times, but doesn't make any difference. Any other ideas?     - Recover Outlook 2003 PST File in Outlook 2007 Background: Several weeks ago the RAID 0 array on my home computer crashed (hard drive failure) and my motherboard setup would not allow me to boot, even with the RAID array disconnected. I was running MS Office 2003 Pro with Windows XP (fully updated). Because the computer (home built) was ready to be replaced anyway, I did so. The replacement computer is running Windows Vista (32 bit) fully updated and Office 2007 Pro. I was able to place the C hardrive and a secondary harddrive (not part of the RAID 0 array) in enclosures and can access the data, although not the programs or certain items on the C drive listed as "protected." I was also able to access an external harddrive with some backup data. Status: After installing Office 2007 Pro I was able to import from several backup PST files from Outlook 2003, but these backups did not contain the most recent data. I can see the most recent PST files on the old C drive (now: I:\Documents and Settings\"user"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook1.pst) from the Office 2003 installation. When I attempt to import the PST files, I receive the message, "File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file I:\Documents and Settings\....... Help needed: I would like to obtain the most recent information on my account contained in these PST files. How do I gain access to the files?     - Uploading Emails Back to the POP Server Hi. I have Microsoft Outlook 2007. I just installed it yesterday. When I opened the program for the first time, it autoconfigured itself to work with my POP and SMTP servers from Yahoo! Mail. Little did I know that when Outlook downloads messages from the POP server, it completely removes them from my inbox on Yahoo! Now need to uninstall Microsoft Office (because it runs too slow on my computer), but I need to save all of my important email messages (1.3 GB worth). How can I transfer all of my emails from Microsoft Outlook back to my Yahoo! inbox so that I don't lose them when Outlook is uninstalled? I greatly appreciate any help in this matter.     - Contacts to Outlook Address After importing my address book into Outlook they show as contacts and are not shown in the Outlook address book. Is there a way to move or copy them into the Outlook address book? I have checked to see that the box for contacts is checked to use as addresses but when I try to create a new email message the names do not fill in automatically like in Outlook Express. I went through the procedure to copy the list from the registry but modifying it to import into Outlook does not seem to work.     - MIcrosoft Office Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2007 First of all after many attempts of deleting my programs. Both the Microsoft Outlook 2000, Outlook 2003, and also the Outlook Connector. I finally was able to install the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. But now when attempting to open the program I receive an error message that says: Cannot open your default email folders. Microsoft office Outlook exited with out properly closing your Outlook data file. ' C:\Documents and Settings/ ..... Microsoft\Outlook\name_msn2.ost'. Microsoft Office Outlook must be resarted. If this error message recurs contact support for microsoft office outlook for assistance. Can you help please? I did find a link that told me to do a scan and repair of corrupted outlook data files. But during the scan I receive another error message that says it must shut down and no changes were made. Attemping to do that more than once and it continued till 100% done but came back again saying it was with no changes made. What can I do now? Please make a suggestion. I can not even get Outlook to open without an immediate message and it's a vicious cirlce...     - OK Diane and Peter the Dell version is history Just need help with the original Outlook issue I guess you did not grasp what I was saying. The computer with the Dell OEM version is not the computer I am having the issue with and have ceased using it since I had been informed I don't "own" that particular copy. That is version 2003 and the computer I have the sending issue with has 2002 running and it is a VALID purchased version of Office To be perfectly honest I could screenshot the thing and show I had only started that one twice. The screenshot would show that I was on the 3rd start of Office of course but please take my word it is not in use. I suppose I could have installed the older 2002 version that is on the box with the issue while I reformatted and re-installed XP Pro, which I own 8 legitimate copies of for my business. Or I could have "retired" one of the other machines to accomplish the same thing and re-re-tired it when I got my main personal home machine up and running again. I was only going to use the other computer as a stand-in while I reformatted and re-installed the XP OS on my main computer. I wouldn't expect to go back to a computer with a 1.0 ghz P-III. I only installed it so I could retrieve my e-mail while I gathered up all the drivers and such for my NEWEST computer about 9 months old. I have put off doing it as it has 6 HD's, and I was also going to swap the video card so I can get a digital signal to my 2 monitor set-up. My ATI Hydavision only sends analog. I have since purchased a 2 DVI port card. So add that to the fact I am a big procrastinator (perhaps I could be the King of them) Installing all the newer hardware and all drivers is a very time consuming task and for now I just wanted the "band-aid" to fix Outlook. With all that drivel and explaining that I have ceased using the Dell 2003 version do you think you might have a suggestion as to what is keeping me from sending e-mail in Outlook 2002 yet I receive fine plus, it tests fine when in the "edit" screen?     - Re-synchronizing RSS Feeds With Common Feed List Hello, I have a bunch of RSS feeds in my Common Feeds List (that I see clearly in IE7). However, I deleted them all in Office 2007, and now I can't get the two to resynchronize with each other, even though I have specified the proper settings within Tools-->Options.     - Getting Back Original Outlook 2007 configuration settings I transfered data from old computer to new and transferred my Outlook 2003 settings. Now my Outlook 2007 Mail has all the old Outlook 2003 functions and display. How can I restore the settings back to Outlook 2007?     - Menu Language in Outlook 2003 Installed Office 2003 Professional in Vista with menus in Hebrew. Using Multilanguage Interface Pack switched menus to English. This worked in Word, Excell but Outlook was open at the time and menus were not changed. Unistalled & reinstalled Outlook but menus stayed in Hebrew.     - Importing Outside Email Folders I am using outlook for my outside email. I have two accounts that I am using one is my hotmail account and in outlook I can see the personal files that are a part of my email. When I include my other email which is a web based email with "GO DADDY" the only thing I see is my inbox but not the personal files that I need attached so I can save them in these files.     - Outlook 2002 - Send Error 0x8804060c I typed it in on the error finding page of microsoft and it said all I had to do was download the newest servicepack to fix it, but I did that and the problem still exists. I can receive mail fine, but when I try to send it, it actually repeatedly sends the messgae while telling me that it had an error. Then if I try to delete it out of my Outbox it says, " C:/documents and settings/.................pst has reached its maximum size. To reduce the size pick some files you no longer need and permenantly delete them. I can not find where it is that I need to execute this "permenant deletion". PLEASE HELP!!     - E-Mail Account Folders I just created a new e-mail account and configured it so the mail is routed to Outlook. But my mail messages are showing up in my "favorites" folder at the top of the left-hand pane. My other e-mail acconts all have their own titled folder under "All Mail Folders." They shows up as the name of the account with a little drawer symbol next to it, and then an Inbox (in bold) with the number of unread messages next to it.     - Outlook 2003 "fresh" install - Outlook crashes continuously I reinstalled Windows XP Pro as a clean/fresh install as I was encountering problems with Windows Exlorer (not IE). Using the program "Outlook Backup Pro" (Total Idea), I backed up all files eg pst, rules, etc. After installing XP Pro, I then installed (fresh), Office 2003 - including Outlook 2003. I then progressively installed all 3 service packs for Office 2003. This was followed by a "restore" files via "Outlook Back up Pro", and all settings, rules, folders, email etc were restored perfectly. However, since then, Outlook continually (writing a new email, downloading, even while idle).....it regularly ( varies from 5 to 20 minutes or so), it "crashes and gives the message "Office Outlook has encountered a problem and must close". I have tried the "Repair" from the <Help> menu, searched Microsoft's site - ran <scanpst.exe> and no errors were reported. (5) created a "new profile" suggested by another person on MS's Forum (6) deleted files with <*.srs> & <*.dat> in C:\documents and settings/deane/Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook - also suggested by a reply on the MS forum. Tried on many occassions to get "Support" from MS....and after 5 or 6 emails, being told to phone - which I did, only to be told it would cost $80 for a Tech to try to work it out!     - Outlook 2007 Keeps Trying to Reinstall/Reconfigure I've been running Outlook 2007 on Vista Home Premium for months with no problems. Now I'm getting reinstalling and reconfiguring windows almost everytime I try to send or receive messages. Outlook sends and receives okay but it must go thorough this reinstall/reconfigure dance first. Note: I had this same reinstall/reconfigure problem with all the Office 2007 Programs at the same time but I deleted the existing shortcuts and made new ones from the Program Files menu (for Word, Powerpoint & Excel). That fixed those Office programs but a new shortcut icon (from Program Files Menu) didn't work for Outlook. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.     - "Repairing" MS Office Professional 2003 - Outlook Question #1: If I use the MS Office Pro CD to "repair" Outlook, will it resolve the following issues and will all of my settings, emails, rules, etc. remain intact? #1 Issue: For some reason, one of my friends is receiving emails from me, but I am not receiving emails from her. Since the emails appear in my AT&T Web Mail Inbox, but do not come through on Outlook, AT&T says that there is a problem with Outlook. #2 Issue: I have a rule created for emails from a particular person to go into the Inbox. However, when emails from this person arrive, you see it for a second in the Inbox, and then it disappears. It is not in any folder...not in Deleted Items...not in Junk Mail (or Qurb, etc.)...nowhere; it just disappears. #3 Issue: In Tools|Options, I have checked the box to add people I email to the Safe Senders List and add Contacts to the Safe Senders List. However, email from several clients repeatly go into the Bulk folder. I added them to my Contacts, but they still have "[Bulk] Re: xxx" in the Subject line, and continue to go into the Bulk folder. Question #2: Are the Contacts and Address Book two separate files? When I recently replace the hard drive in one of my computers, I copied the Outlook.pst file from the old hard drive to the new one.     - Outlook 2003 (with Exchange 2003) is very slow to open Problem - when I shut down an old Windows 2000 server that USED TO BE a domain controller, though NEVER an Exchange server, Outlook 2003 becomes very slow to open on every machine on the network. Environment: -single Exchange 2003, fully patched with all Microsoft updates / Outlook 2003, also fully patched with all available updates. - Network of about 40 users - NO RPC over HTTP - NO cached Exchange mode - NO .pst or .ost files permitted - no IMAP or POP3 connections are permitted - No ActiveSync connections are permitted - single Exchange server, no front end/back end configuration. - Currently, there are 2 domain controllers on the network, both functioning without error (the Exchange server and another server). - Domain is in mixed mode. - No firewalls, Windows or otherwise, between desktops and Exchange. - No related errors in event logs of servers or desktops - No AD errors on domain controllers - No DNS issues Issue: We have an old Windows 2000 server, that was the original domain controller/file print server for the domain. About 3 years ago, we installed a new Windows 2003 server and moved all of the AD rolls, DNS and DHCP off of the old server and onto the new server. This server was NEVER an Exchange server. We disabled DNS and DHCP serivces at that time and ran DCPromo to remove the old server from the domain. All went well. There were no issues or errors. Unfortunately, we left the old server up and running just in case there was a file that someone needed. The old server was left running in the rack and was forgotten about. Now, we need to install some new servers and we need the rack space, so we have to fully decommission the old server. Everything works fine when we shut it down, EXCEPT for Outlook 2003. If the old server is shut down, Outlook takes over 3 minutes to open on every desktop on the network. The minute the server comes back up, Outlook opens normally. We moved from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 (fresh install on new server, used Exmerge to move contents of mailboxes) about 2 years ago. The old Exchange server has been off of the network since the upgrade. If I open Outlook with the /rpcdiag switch with the old server down, the first 2 connections are made immediately, with normal speed. The delay is between the second and third connection. The Outlook web client continues to function normally, whether or not the old server is on. I have tried all the safe mode switches. /safe:1, safe:3 and safe:4 do not affect startup speed. If I start in /safe:2 (starts Outlook without checking mail at startup), Outlook opens at normal speed. I have also tried the /cleanprofile switch, which had no effect. Other than the issue with Outlook, all logins/network applications and resources function normally, whether the old server is up or not. I searched through the registry of one of the desktops. I do not see any references to the old server by either name or IP address. I would appreciate any ideas on how to resolve this problem.
