    - Salvaging Outlook data from hard disk for new PC installation My PC's motherboard went belly up the other day. It was a Windows XP Home PC running Office 2002. Now I have a new PC, same O/S, and I would like to, if possible, recreate my email files. I can access my old disk but I can't boot off of it. I have installed Outlook 2002 on my new PC successfully. The question is, what files can I move from my old hard disk to my new PC in order to recreate, as closely as possible, my old email files, folders and settings?     - rules After I move my .pst file from my desktop to my laptop when I go on the road, the 'rules' I hvae set up for my different email accounts do no work.     - Product key not accepted for Outlook 2007 CD installation Trying to install new Outlook 2007 CD - when asked for Product Key from package, when I type in the number I think is the key, tells me that "0's" are invalid digits in Product Key. Then I try a different number from sticker-- tells me that "1's" are invalid digits in Product Key. This is a shared PC and after selecting the profile, the userid defaults to the last person signed on.     - Add new email accounts to my Microsoft Outlook 2007 I just downloaded the trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional. I am able to open and use all the programs. I have three email addresses that I would like to add to Outlook. Two work accounts and my personal gmail account. I have checked and rechecked all of my entries and I am unable to send or receive. In fact, the button to create a new email is grayed out. I have contacted my ISP as the software has suggested. I walked through the process with the technician, but we were unable to achieve a positive result and I was referred back to Microsoft.     - OL 2007 does not terminate correctly Hi, I have this once-per-three annoyance with closing OL 2007, when I log out, XP prompts me to kill OL2007 even though it has dissappeard from the task bar.     - Runtime error when creating new message in Outlook 2003 Every time I send a new message in Outlook 2003, I get a popup error message: "Runtime Error! Microsoft Office/OFFICE11/WINWORD.EXE This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" It still sends the message, but it is very annoying and I don't know if it affects anything else.     - Out fo Office Assistant for Outlook Connector for Domino Hi, Im am a user of Outlook Connector for Domino. The option of out of office assistant doesnt seem to work for me. I have the permision as that possed by the designer in lotus notes (ver 6.5.2). But my name is not mentioned as a designer. Now my real issue is that, wen i click on out of office assistant, it pops up an error that "You need to have designer or higher permissions to enable this." But i already have more permissions that the designer level but not as much as the admin. However i do not fall under either of these categories. So i think outlook should check for the permission an individual user has seperately and not blindly check which group he belongs to. Am i right here or am i doing something wrong.     - Outlook 2007 with Exhange 2007 - laptop config recommendation I've been gradually configuring the office desktop systems to run in domain mode and use Outlook 2007 to access e-mail on an Exchange 2007 server. I'm about ready to start configuring laptop computers and would like a recommendation. First I want to say that the only reason we've implemented active directory and a network domain is to make accessing mail easier for the users of Outlook 2007. All work files are stored on Netware servers and the only time a workstation accesses the domain is to get e-mail. With that said, I figure I have two options for setting up the laptops so that their users can access e-mail residing on the Exchange 2007 server. 1) Install Outlook 2007. Log the user's laptop into the office domain. Have Outlook create an Exchange type e-mail account/connection. This is used when the user is in the office. When out of the office, user relies on OWA. 2) Install Outlook 2007 and configure it for Outlook Anywhere access, whether the user is in the office and connected to the network (but not as a domain user) or outside of the office Any recommendations on which would be the better way to handle laptop access to the mail server?     - Outlook asking to configure emails / previous configurations gone Each time I open my new Outlook (2007), it asks me to configure email accounts. I have already done this twice (and each time the information is lost when I re-open Outlook). I have also lost all previous email (both imported from Outlook 2003 on old computer and emails received and sent in previous session on new computer).     - Personal Folders Backup (Add In) Recently installed Office 2003 to a new Vista Premium computer. Was able to restore my original .pst file from old computer and everything so far works fine. Also installed the Personal Folders Backup tool from Microsoft that I have been using for my backup. When I execute the backup I no longer see the progress dialog box, however, the backup.outlook.pst is created with the proper size and date. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?     - How can my BlackBerry delete messages from both it and Outlook? I use Outlook 2003 and have a BlackBerry 8800 that I love except for one problem. When I read and delete email messages on the BB, it gives a choice of deleting from the handheld only or from both the handheld and the server. I click to delete most messages from both. RoadRunner tells me that this does, indeed, delete the message from the server. BUT, when I get back to my PC and open Outlook, the deleted messages are still there. Hello, I want to setup outlook so that when a user logs in outlook automatically connects to the correct mailbox on the exchange server for that user, can this be done with the login script somehow? Right now I am using roaming profiles, so when a user moves from PC to PC their outlook is setup. I would like to get away from roaming profiles.     - Get 'Outlook has encountered a problem' error msg whenever I open I've recently converted from Outlook 2007 back to Outlook 2003 by uninstalling 2007 and then installing 2003. Now, whenever I open 2003 I get the 'Outlook has encountered a problem' error message whenever I open the pgm. It looks like Outlook is trying to configure something before I get the error message b/c I see the 'Configuring Outlook' box with the lines 'Creating Welcome Message', 'Migrating Preferences', and 'Importing User Data' just before I get the 'encountered a problem' message. Then, if I don't send the error report to MS, the program seems to go in a loop, continually bring up the 'encountered a problem' message until I say to send the error report. After that, I get the 'Outlook didn't close normally the last time it closed, do you want to start it in safe mode?' which I say yes to. Interestingly, after starting Outlook up, I always have 2 Outlook icons in my Quickstart menu. I've deleted one of them, but it always reappears after I've started Outlook. Can anyone help?     - Did uninstalling Office 2007 delete Outlook email folders? I uninstalled Office 2007 from my wife's old PC and then installed Office 2003 (or XP?) WITHOUT installing Outlook. Then I found out that my wife had been using the Outlook 2007 to download POP (not Exchange) mail from yahoo and had an elaborate folder system in her inbox. She didn't know anything about a .pst file so I don't know if her mail was saved in a .pst file or not. She is a new PC now with Office 2007 installed. Can we still get her mail off of the old PC? most important one) worked for a day or two and then it only received but
could not send from that particular account, then stopped receiving. I get
server error messages on that account when I click send/receive, and
completed messages on the other two accounts. Any suggestions?
