When I click on a link embedded in an email my Explorer will not open and go
to the linked page. I have looked at all the settings and cannot see where
the problem is.

A black CMD box pops up but immediately disappears again. I think a setting
may have been removed/changed??

try resetting the default web settings in IE's tools, options, programs.
