Outlook cannot send or recieve.
But everything else works.
Hi, I have a customer with 12 Vista Business PC's. All but 2 of the PC's
work 100% The 2 I'm having problems are not able to send or recieve email.
They are using Outlook2007, as are all PC's. IE works 100%. They have the
same settings (POP, SMTP) as every other PC.
They are members of a Windows 2003 Domain (SBS2003) and using DHCP the DNS
server is the 2003 server. DNS (nslookup) responds the same on all PC's.
Any thoughts as to what the problem could be? Tag: Installing Outlook 2007, where's outlookr.ww\olkrww.cab? Tag: 91159
Outlook must close. Sorry for the inconvenience
I installed an older version of Small Business Edition, the 2000 one that's
no longer being used on any computer, on my sister's computer specifically
because of her e-mail problems. The installation went well. Word worked
fine and Outlook opened as usual. When I typed in the settings for her
e-mail accounts, I should have checked the LAN, but checked direct instead.
When I was finished, there was a popup box with the message about
encountering a problem and must close; sorry for the inconvenience.
Subsequently, every time Outlook was opened, the same popup box immediately
appeared, so there's no way to adjust the settings. Word still works fine.
What could be causing this problem? Thank you so much for any assistance! Tag: Installing Outlook 2007, where's outlookr.ww\olkrww.cab? Tag: 91150
Need to reconfigure MS Outlook 2007 - pls advise
Hey All - I need to re-configure my MS Outlook 2007. Upon installing - I
opened outlook for the first time and figured I'd set it up with my exchange
server - since then I get the error message "The connection to MS Exchange is
unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
Now - I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software several times
and I get the same error message.
All I want to do is reset the program and set up and account as an iMAP or
even POP3, but I am stuck and cannot get passed this error.
How do I completely undo the exchange configuration attempt so I can set up
a regular account.
Pls advise - thank you,

IMAP local store issue
I was using IMAP to access a server and decided to change service providers.
I set the old provider to forward all e-mails to the new host. But that left
the old account inaccessible. I have copies of the old records (Inbox, sent,
etc) locally, which is adequate, but the system keeps trying to access the
old server (and canâ??t). The error message (credentials refused) is a

Outlook 2003 won't start
Hi,
I have recently installed Outlook 2003 on my machine (win XP SP2), and every
time I try to start it it gives me the following error message:
"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Outlook could not start because
a data file to send and receive mail could not be found. To add a data file,
such as a personal folder file, double-click the Mail icon in Windows
Control Panel"
So I go to the Windows Control Panel, double-click the Mail icon, I click on
data files, Add... I only have one choice (Business Contact Manager
Database), so I click OK, and it gives me the following error message:
An exception occurred while trying to run
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL"C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\System\MSMAPI\1033\MLCFG32.CPL",@0"
I did some searching on the internet, but couldn't find any solution to
this. Can anybody help? I should point out that when asked to set up a mail
account the first time I opened up Outlook, I said no (and I don't want to
set up an email account).
Many thanks in advance,

Signature font color change
Wierd issue going on here. My coworker got a new pc earlier this week and
the IT people set it up. When she starts to create a new message in outlook
her previously working signature pops up however the black font is now a pale
yellow. (this also was the case for her standard defaulted font ~ however I
had her to go tools and mail format to adjust this issue...) But the
signature issue is perplexing. I went to her created signature and it is
indeed black.
I am not sure what is prompting the system to change her black font in her
signature to yellow.. Any suggestions on where we should go to fix this?

Difference between "Open *.pst file" and "Add data file *.pst" ?
As far as I can see there are two methods of opening/adding an additional *.pst file
for an existing Outlook 2003 installation:
At first I can simply open a *.pst file by using the menu
file->open
On the other side I can do it through the menu
file->Data file management->Add
What is the difference ?

Outlook 2003 - what happens to messages w/ Exchange and POP accoun
Hi,
Question for the group. I am on an exchange server and have several pop
accounts set up in Outlook 2003. I have a rule to move the POP messages to a
personal folder upon receipt. Exchange is the default mailbox because that is
the one connected to my blackberry.
Couple questions:
Does outlook put the message directly into the personal folder (i.e. it
never touches the exchange post), or does it write it to the exchange post
first and then move it?
If the latter, when the rule applies and the message is moved to the
personal folder, does any record of the POP message stay in the exchange box
or no?
I have multiple accounts, but I am sensitive to not putting personal email
into exchange.
All help appreciated, as I would much prefer to use Outlook than Thunderbird
to read my pop mail accounts.

Outllok 2003 and Terminal Services - user settings will not stick

Automatic Outlook 2007 Add-In Disabling/Removal & "Settings" Reg K

Outlook 2007 .pst file size set wrong
I upgraded from OE to Outlook 2003 to 2007. Now the 2007 .pst file size
seems to be limiting us at the 2GB size. I followed the Microsoft Knowledge
Base article saying to change the registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.
0\Outlook\PST
MaxLargeFileSize
WarnLargeFileSize
MaxFileSize, and
WarnFileSize
The problem is that the registry key I have only goes up to the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft
The article says that you "may have to create" some of the keys if they are
missing. Is there a better way to get the .pst file set to the larger
UNICODE setting? Am I looking at this correctly? I was thinking that
perhaps I need to simply create a new .pst file and then archive all emails
and folders into that file - hoping it would be set to the UNICODE file
settings.
Anyone have any input on this for me? I would appreciate it!

2002 outlook in Office XP upped to 2007 outlook?
I use 2002 Office XP Professional that includes:

I would like to update OR replace the 2002 Outlook version to the 2007
Outlook version - while retaining the other 2002 Office XP programs.
Is this possible? Are there any technical - compatability - stability -
application software problems or issues that would prevent this functionality
upgrade to the newer 2007 Outlook...and still be able to use my other 2002
programs?
In researching this problem, (but not being able to locate the exact same
program configuration and task)... some posts indicate that installing
outlook 2007 on top of outlook 2002 would create no problems...other posts
say it might create problems because of the Office XP package...other posts
suggest upgrading completely to 2007. I would like to hang on to a very
productive and functional 2002 Office XP package...but still be able to take
advantage of the 2007 Outlook features.
Thanks very much if you can help me with this question.

I'm trying to configure a rule that will move a message to a particular

What happens is if I check the connection status (ctrl + right click the

Global Catalog, RID, Infrstructure, and all DC's in the domain are GC's). If
I click reconect, and the directory connections change to DC2 and then run
the rule it will work but any time i'm pointing to DC1 the rule will not work.
