Have you installed anything that might be interrupting the connection?
Check with your ISP to see if anyone else is having the same issue. Try a
new profile with the account set up in it.

I am having the same issue. Att. net (the old sbcglobal) made changes to
their email system. Basically you have to "allow" each individual email
address that goes through your dsl email account on your Att website. Call
ATT - they will walk you through. The SSL issue is on top of that.
I have several computers and laptops on a network. The older outlook 2000 is
working, but 2003 Outlook has the SSL issue. ATT said call Microsoft.
Microsoft asked for lots of $$. Then they said ask the Microsoft community.
Here is my current error message
Task 'email.barnettinc.com - sending' reported error (0x800CCC&D) : 'Your
outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL - secured connections. If SSL -
secured connections have worked in the past, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
I think my ISP is slammed with phone calls today. (Thanks ATT).
I made certian that all of my office updates have been completed. Is there
something else I can do?
ATT has you set up outlook to log in to ATT for every email download, but
Outlook will not keep my password for that log in. I am talking about the
screen at
Email accounts, more settings, outgoing server tab, check the box that says
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Check the radio button that says Log on using, add Att main user email and
password and check the remember password check box.
Then check the radio button Log on to incoming mail server before sending
mail.
Whew.

I do not think this is an SSL issue. It is an ATT issue. All emails in our
office are working now. After following the directions of the ATT tech
support person (very nice and very competent I must say) it took over an hour
for our emails to move again. So far, so good. So, my suggestion - if you are
on the ATT network in any way - call them. Then, be patient.
