    - Loss of Conection to Exchange We have just upgraded all our system. We were previously on Novell. We now have Windows 2003 server and 2003 Exchange server. The computers are all running XP pro and Office 2007. Our laptops connect in through a Juniper VPN link. This has all been working great, but now slowly but surely our laptops are not being able to connect to exchange. They come in as normal, they can access shared network drives and can ping the Exchange server without any problems, but Outlook won't connect to Exchange. Has anybody come across this problem before? Nothing has changes. One day no problem then next no access. Also, once the connection doesnâ??t work it never seems to work again. HELP!!!!!     - Outlook 2003 and DoS Had a situation yesterday where a SMTP mailserver was being DoS'd by a client. Culprit was an Outlook 2003 desktop, which was trying to send a number of oversize attachments. The mailserver has an attachment-size limit set, and quota on the mailbox,and it seems that Outlook does not recognise this situation, but instead keeps hammering the server with a continuous series of send attempts. I'm trying to resolve an issue in which Outlook 2007 will frequently start synchronizing (with what?), using over 60% cpu time (per Task Mgr) and very noticeably slow down the computer. Here are some details of the system: Intel Core2Duo cpu w/1GB RAM Windows 64-bit Vista Ultimate OS Office 2007 Typically, within a few minutes after Outlook loads, the entire computer noticeably slows down; send/receive in Outlook takes several minutes instead of the usual 10 or so seconds. When I kill the outlook.exe process using Task Manager, the cpu use drops from around 60% to the usual 1-2%. I've turned off RSS feeds and disabled internet offline files. I load XP Pro, install all updates and then install OL2007 as part of Office Ultimate 2007 (using default install). If I then login to the VM with a LUA account OL2007 runs fine; however, if I then install Office 2007 SP1 and then login in with a different LUA account (ie one that was not already on the machine) OL2007 will not close and hangs if I try to look at the Trust Center.     - Macro won't run after restart I have built a macro for Microsoft Outlook 2003. I have associated it with my self-certified certificate. I have distributed both the VbaProject.OTM file and the certificate to hundreds of machines. I have had them import the certificate and add/replace their own VbaProject.OTM files. I have had them trust the publisher of the certificate and enable macros after the software was placed on their machine... The macro works perfectly for as long as they have Outlook open. However, if they close Outlook and/or restart their machine, the macro fails to run automatically. The user must select Tools-->Macro-->Visual Basic Editor just to get Outlook to begin running the macro again. They are not asked to trust the publisher of the certificate again, nor are they asked to enable macros again. However, unless they follow this seemingly useless step of bringing up the Visual Basic Editor, the macro will not run after a reboot/restart. I would like to avoid this situation and have the macro always running once they've trusted/enabled it once. Their security settings are set at "High" but that should be fine even with a self-certified certificate... I don't understand what's happening...     - Outlook GPO and PST files How do you get the Outlook GPO to not control the Archive.PST file? I have Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 on workstations with either XP Pro or Vista Business. Our server is a Win2K3 Enterprise with Exchange 2K3 Enterprise. Archive settings work great. However, when I set retention settings, it caused the files in the archive.pst file to be moved to the Deleted Items folder. I did check the "open archive folder" check box as part of the retention settings in the GPO.     - Migrated Outlook 2003 to 2007 on new PC and now Address Book hosed I migrated my XP professional settings to Vista professional (I know I know!) and when I create an Outlook (Enterprised ed.) email, the To list is empty. Drop down Address Book list is empty. When I click Advanced Find I get modal dialog "The search cannot be completed. Tou must have an address list to search in. If you don't have an address list contact your Microsoft Exchange admin." I don't have Microsoft Exchange. Under Tools/Account Settings/Address Book I have Outlook Address Book MAPI but Remove is disabled. Under Contacts Folder under Properties, Outlook Address Book tab, the "Show this folder email address book" check box is disabled. I have uninstalled the product and reinstalled it - no luck. The registry has evil stuff. I tried renaming my C:\Users\...\outlook directory, uninstalled/reinstalled and then Outlook wouldn't run - again the evil registry entries "remembering" the wrong stuff. So now I'm at my wit's end. The only option I see is to reload windows from scratch to get a clean registry - unless someone can help me figure out how to activate the "show this folder" button. I've used my new computer for a couple months and have built up numerous items in its' new *.PST file. Now I'd like to go back to the old PST file and review some messages and addresses. How can I alternate between these two PST files (one on my new computer and the other is accessible via my home network).     - I need Major Help... I have been working on this problem off and on for a week. It stated with Daylight Savings Time...both PC and Pocket PC were correct time but appts. off by hour. Nothing on Windows Mobile was helping and then I saw an upgrade to Windows Mobile verson 6.1, which I did. Now computer will not recognize Pocket PC. I decide to try the CD that came with T-Mobile Wing and on there is a Trial Version of Outlook 2007, which I download. But Outlook 2002 only comes up and Outlook 2007 is only visible under "remove programs." I end up here and see that 2002 and 2007 cannot work side by side so I reinstall 2007 and ask it to remove earlier version. Now I have no 2002 and still cannot locate 2007. I search for *.pst and nothing comes up. Now I'm flipping out and restore to earlier time. Still no 2002 or 2007. Can someone please help?     - Typeahead lost in upgrade I know this is a common issuse as there are other pages covering it, but none offering a fix - Upgrading from Outllook Express 6 To Outlook 2003 has left the users with no typeahead action in the To: field of new messages. This is perhaps a more critical bug than it might at first seem, as some users have developed working-procedures which depend on typeahead. It seems the root of the problem is that Outlook stores the typeahead name-list elsewhere than the Contacts folder -whereas OE does use the addressbook- and that info isn't migrated.     - Outlook Rules I have a client who has been using Outlook as a standalone POP3 client. He now has a new laptop that he will be using with Exchange on SBS 2003. He has a lot (around 450) rules that take incoming mail and deliver the messages to specific folders and then send him an alert that he has received mail from the person. I exported the rules to a file and then attempted to import them to the new laptop. All but about 6 of the rules will not import correctly. It seems as if Outlook now sees the folder path as different. Is there any way to import these rules and not have to recreate all of them?     - Custom form problems We have a custom form that we use in Outlook for time off requests. Basically the user opens the form, it automatically populates the "To" field w/ her manager (pulled from AD) and she fills in the time off and sends it along. The manager opens it, clicks Approve or Reject and if its approved a message is sent to the user and also a copy goes to our corporate payroll. The time off is also entered into both the user and manager's calendar. We're having problems on a user that is running Office 2007 (with SP1). When he tries to approve the time off it appears to send and then he gets an error message stating "Outlook does not recognize one or more names." If he looks in his sent items the "approved" message isn't there but the time off will show up in his calendar. The user requesting the time off never gets a response and neither does our corporate payroll dept. When this initially started happening one of our IT guys recreated his login profile on his desktop -- so he started with a clean profile. That appeared to resolve the problem but now (after a couple of days) it's back. This form was written by a previous employee so we're pretty limited in terms of how it was setup and making changes to the actual form without some guidance. Any ideas?     - LDAP directory in Outlook 2003 takes long time to list the address Hello , I've configured my email (IMAP) and LDAP directory in Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003. Its perfectly running in both Outlook Express & Microsoft Outlook 2000. But I am facing a problem (LDAP directory) with Outlook 2003. all email IDs are getting from my LDAP directory server, but it takes min 60 seconds to list all. BUT Outlook Express & Microsoft Outlook 2000 are listing very QUICKLY(3-5 seconds only). This problem is only in Outlook 2003.     - Update junk email filter removes outlook profile Hi, I have a small problem with the updates to the Outlook junk email filter. I am running Windows XP with SP2 and Office 2003. Outlook is the latest version (2003 with SP3). Every month when the updates are released by Microsoft, Outlook creates a Backup of the Default Oulook Profile, and resets the Default Outlook Profile. This means that each month I loose all settings (signatures, cached mode setting, extra mailboxes, etc.) unless I remove the Default Outlook Profile and rename the backup back to Default Outlook Profile. I'm upgrading my enterprise environment from Office 2003 to 2007. This only
happens on only a few computers, but after opening Outlook 2007 for the first
time, several reminders pop up (referring to Outlook '98) and I can't dismiss
them. They just come back up. I tried to dismiss all, but it keeps coming
back.

What is wrong? What can I do?

Start-> Run; outlook.exe /cleanreminders
Dismissing them should work now.
