    - Custom form problems We have a custom form that we use in Outlook for time off requests. Basically the user opens the form, it automatically populates the "To" field w/ her manager (pulled from AD) and she fills in the time off and sends it along. The manager opens it, clicks Approve or Reject and if its approved a message is sent to the user and also a copy goes to our corporate payroll. The time off is also entered into both the user and manager's calendar. We're having problems on a user that is running Office 2007 (with SP1). When he tries to approve the time off it appears to send and then he gets an error message stating "Outlook does not recognize one or more names." If he looks in his sent items the "approved" message isn't there but the time off will show up in his calendar. The user requesting the time off never gets a response and neither does our corporate payroll dept. When this initially started happening one of our IT guys recreated his login profile on his desktop -- so he started with a clean profile. That appeared to resolve the problem but now (after a couple of days) it's back. This form was written by a previous employee so we're pretty limited in terms of how it was setup and making changes to the actual form without some guidance. Any ideas?     - LDAP directory in Outlook 2003 takes long time to list the address Hello , I've configured my email (IMAP) and LDAP directory in Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003. Its perfectly running in both Outlook Express & Microsoft Outlook 2000. But I am facing a problem (LDAP directory) with Outlook 2003. all email IDs are getting from my LDAP directory server, but it takes min 60 seconds to list all. BUT Outlook Express & Microsoft Outlook 2000 are listing very QUICKLY(3-5 seconds only). This problem is only in Outlook 2003. Is it possible to add some search filters or search BASE or any registry values of Outlook 2003. ANYBODY PLEASE HELP. Waiting 4 ur valuable advice.     - Default view of calender in Outlook 2003 When I am in the five day-view, I point to a day in a different week and the calendar shows this work week. When I'm in the month view, it switches to the particular day. As I often need to schedule tasks ahead for long periods, I would like Outlook always to be in the month view .     - Micrsoft Office Outlook has STOPPED WORKING Hey everyone, I can't for the life of me get this to work... I'm running windows vista home premium 32bit with MS Office ProPlus 2007. In the midst of backing up my contacts, my computer restarted after and automatic update. Since then I am 100% unable to get into MS Outlook. My profile ID comes up. It starts to load in both normal and safe mode, and then it spits out and error window saying ms office outlook has stopped working. I clikc okay to send information and check for solution to this message C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\WER514D.tmp.hdmp no solutions ever come back, reinstalling the software has not helped and I cannot find the backup file fearing it did not finish backing up.     - Update junk email filter removes outlook profile Hi, I have a small problem with the updates to the Outlook junk email filter. I am running Windows XP with SP2 and Office 2003. Outlook is the latest version (2003 with SP3). Every month when the updates are released by Microsoft, Outlook creates a Backup of the Default Oulook Profile, and resets the Default Outlook Profile. This means that each month I loose all settings (signatures, cached mode setting, extra mailboxes, etc.) unless I remove the Default Outlook Profile and rename the backup back to Default Outlook Profile.     - Outlook 2002 Recovery and Vista I understand that Outlook 2002 is incompatible with Vista. My old computer (Dell 4600) failed and I have mounted my old hard drive in an external USB enclosure and connected it to my new computer Dell "XPS" 420 running Microsoft Vista Ultimate. If I purchase Outlook 2007 and place it on my new system is there a possibillity that I can transfer my old Outlook 2002 .pst files, from my externally mounted hard drive, to my new Outlook 2007 program and it will recognize the old data - at least to recover the old contact listing?     - Can't change .pst file from Read Only? I am attempting to transfer my old .pst file (2002 Outlook) from an old hard drive where the computer failed (system was XP) to a new machine running Vista. One of the steps is to copy the old .pst file from the old drive to the new system, then to change the .pst file from Read Only and point Outlook to it. I can change (unhighlight) the Read Only box and Apply but when I look again at the file the Read Only box is again highlighted? How can I change this file from Read Only so that Outlook can attempt to operate with it?     - Automatic Formatting (using colors) stopped working I have my inbox set up to apply different colors to incoming email based on the "From" field. Some of my filters have stopped working and I cannot get them to function anymore. I have not made any changes to any of the rules. I've tried to restate the rules and add new ones without success. Some of my filters are still functioning properly. All of the filters still function properly on my other mail folders (which I use to organize old messages). Just not my inbox. If I transfer an uncolored message from my inbox to one of my organizational folder, sometimes the message turns the approriate color. If I tranfer a still colored messge some time the color turns off. While the Organize pane is open, I have clicked the Automatic Formatting link at the top right and examined the individual rules carefully and see if I could figure out the problem that way. Some of the rules don't work anymore and some do. An example of a rule that doesn't work any more is: Properties of Selected Rule = font is green Advanced Condition: Field = From Condition = contains Value = jdoe@anywhere.org An example of a rule that still works is: Properties of Selected Rule = font is pink Advanced Condition: Field = From Condition = contains Value = jsmith@someplace.org I am using Outlook Professional 2003. Each of the rules (both wokring and non working) have around 50 simple one line rules like the above. (basically 50 unique senders). The problem started concurrently with my .pst file reaching almost 1.9 GB. I split my mail folders into new .pst files and compacted them so they are each now, about 800 MB.     - How to filter emails with CC Hey everyone, I have an inbox set up where all my worker's emails all go into the same general inbox. So I have like emails comming in from 3 different email addresses, and I use rules to filter out emails to different folders. I've been having this problem where if someone CC'ed one of my workers, 2 emails would go to the person that it was sent to, not cc'ed to. The person that was CC'ed wouldn't receive anything.     - Macro Security settings Grayed out??? HI everyone, I haven't been able to figure this one out. Just upgraded two users to Outlook 2007. We use a custom macro to pull up a link to our public folders contacts. When I try to scroll to Tools, Macro, all of the subitems are grayed out. I cannot seem to open the VB editor.     - Outlook crashes on start-up I am running Vista home basic with Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007. The other programs are working, although I have had to re-install to get Groove to work. When I first started Outlook it would run the installation and configuration windows for an exceedingly long time. Clicking on business contact manager caused it to freeze. Now if I even attempt to open it I just get a pop up that says "This application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". It didn't.     - Outlook 2003/XP to Outlook 2007/Vista: lost email sorting rules I copied the Outlook 2003 pst folder to my new computer. I opened 2007 on the new machine, without setting up email rules. I used File|ope|Outlook data file, and browsed to the location of the 2003 pst folder and opened it. My 2003 data appeared. I used Tools|Account Settings|Data Files and made the 2003 folder the default folder. I went to the folder list, right clicked and closed the default 2007 data. So, I had only the "2003" data list showing. I created the email account, which defaulted to delivering email to the "2003" data file. And now I have none of the 100 or so rules for sorting email.     - Importing WAB addressbook with hierarchical folders As the title says, one user has multiple hierarchical folders in a Windows Address Book (.WAB) file, and so far it's proved impossible to import these into Outlook 2003. All the import utility will do is to import the toplevel folder into Contacts, omitting the rest. The user needs this addressbook in its present format since it lists the contacts for each client/job in a logical manner. Re-creating it by hand would be a very lengthy process. That is, if it's even possible as I can't find any way to create a tree of subfolders in Contacts, it seems to be a flatfile only. Any suggestions?     - Multiple accounts http/rpc pop accounts Hi I have a exchange account which I login from outlook 2003. I also have 3 pop accounts which i need to send/receive from different companies. I have @domain.com exchange account default @domain1.com @domain2.com @domain3.com all pop accounts I need to send as from all 4 accounts I understand the rules you can make into 3 seperate folders. However am not sure if I can use pop3 puller GFI and route to these folders from outlook rules wizard. Alternatively have seperate accounts in outlook and use rules to route to specific folders. Office 2000 I have MS Office Professional 2000 a ful legal version, yet when I try to access Equation Editor, by going Ctrl panel then Add Remove Programs then I navigate my way to Office Tools, and select Equation Editor then try to go "Run from My Computer" with the CD in the drive, Office has the nerve to tell me that I don't have a legal version of the program, or some such comment.     - Outlook 2000, XP and 2003 Hi all, many users have to work on the same PC (shift work). I'd need get all new users, after the first one, use the same configuration (in few word the same .pst file) about outlook. Up now I solved this issue configuring the pst for the first user and copying it in a location externally to personal folder. Then I rename the original pst file in personal folder adding an .old extension. Then I start Outlook and browse until the new pst when outlook asks for an existent pst. I repeat these steps for all new users. My question is: is there a tool, a script or something workaround to get this automation? i.e. is it possible that all new users, with their first login to PC, use a specific pst instead the default one? maybe working on the default user profile?     - Outlook 98 to Windows XP I had to re format my hard drive (Boot Sector Virus) and re load XP. Now I can't load Outlook 98 from my Office 97 disk. I get "Setup was unable to download all the required componenets for this installation...." I can find references to this error message but no solution.     - display Reversed names of headers contact-list in imported Contac Upgrading Outloook Express to Outlook 2003, and hit a problem in that the imported address-book entries are listed with a word-reversal in their names. This would seem to be due to another those infuriating examples of 'fruitmachine automation' so often found in Office. It is blindly assumed that the addressbook entries are names of people (Westerners at that!) and Outlook reverses the words to put (what it assumes to be) the Lastname first. Problem arises when the entry isn't the name of a person, but for example a company name or website address, or where the nationality in question already has lastname first. In either of these cases the word-reversal turns the entry to nonsense. There is an Outlook setting for "Default 'File As' Order" under Tools>Options>Preferences>Contact Options.. and you would think that changing this to "First, Last" should fix things.... but it makes no difference at all. Why, I'm not sure. I have the same problem on Outllok Mobile on my WM5 phone, and would dearly love to find a way to turn this behaviour off, so I could enter non-personal phone numbers without the name being minced-up.     - Can't Send e-mails - Outlook 2003 I have Outlook 2003 SP3 installed. All of a sudden my outlook will not send e-mails. The just sit in my outbox. I've not done any upgrades, it just quit sending. I can recieve with no problems. I spoke to my internet provider who said it was a problem with Outlook as all their connections are set and working correctly.     - Corrupted install? Upgraded to Office 2007 Prof. All programs work correctly except Outlook. It always starts by at least 3 Installing and Configuring Office 2007 messages and then opens. It will not show Business contact Mgr. (its installed from disk 2). It also lost the setups from 2003 (mail, calendar, etc.) but I had backed those up ok.     - Ho to add attachments in the body of an email in Outlook 2003 I would like to add attachments in the body of an email, but it always go to the header. Are there any settings I have to change? I installed Office 2007 after un installing Office 2003. My profile will not
migrate automatically - Exchange Server not available error.
I tried to create it manually, but it does not find my name. My exchange
settings are correct and I am able to access my account thru web access.
I have had no problem in the past with this procedure - accounts have
automatically migrated.

Any suggestion or help appreciated.

You're not in the office? Then filling in your name and the name of the
server isn't enough.
How do you connect to it? VPN or RPC over HTTP?
