i wanted to change some setting in my outlook....2003 professional account. i
clicked on help then detect and repair. i checked discard my customized
setting and restore defaults thinking i would get options to choose from. it
totally removed my outlook account! everything was gone. can it be restored?
i tried system restore and it said my system had not been changed..?? any
suggestions on getting it back?

Can't you just recreate your account? The data is still there.

where? when i go into outlook by clicking the icon, it wants to create a
totally new account..? if i start over, won't i have to recreate everything?

Were I you, I'd use the Mail applet in Control Panel to configure Outlook to
either prompt for the profile or use the old profile that still contains
your account and data file settings.
