Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

This newsgroup discusses Outlook, not Outlook EXPRESS.

OE doesn't have an "online status", whatever that is, to "highlight".

Use a rule which means having to leave OE running, leave your computer
powered on, hope the OS stays up, and hope that you continual to have
Internet access while you are away.

Or use the auto-responder up on the server for your account.
