    - Help importing a .PST file I have a .PST file which was created under outlook 2007. I'm trying to imported on my outllok 2002 w/SP3 but outlook keeps on given me an error message. It seems that my version of outlook cannot import the .PST file created under outlook 2007. Is there a way to import this file into my outlook 2002? Any help would be greatly appreciated.     - Letters & Envelopes in 2007 In Outlook 2003 I could right click a contact and get a template for writing a letter. In 2007 this seems to missing. Now it's an involved process of starting up a new Word document and pasting and copying the contact information. Is there a simpler way for doing just one letter and envelope? Am I missing something?     - Autocompletion Annoyance This may seem trivial, but it is somewhat annoying so I wanted to see if anyone had a solution or whether I just had to "deal" with it.... When I go to type someone's name in the "To:" field of an email the normal autocompletion list populates, however, although the person I write the emails to the most is at the top of that list, it highlights a different name so I have to scroll to the top of the list to select the person I email the most. Why does it not start with the top of the list. It just started doing this for some reason. The only thing I can think of is that the person at the top of the list is in my contacts folder while the one automatically highlighted before I have to scroll back up is in the GAL. Any clues???     - Calendar item reminder Since I use Outlook 2007 to eventlually check my e-mails and keep my contacts, I don't open it everyday. My main *.pst file is password protected, but still I would like to find a way to make Outlook remind me of calendar's upcoming events even if I don't open it.     - opening attachments I have outlook 2007 and received an attach. in wordpad which when i double clicked to open said it was not supported so silly me chose notepad hoping maybe i could read the file. Well i can't its not readable, i then tried to save the file and open with to try another pgm but it comes up the same way.     - Sig when reply to RTF When replying to RTF messages, my Signature font increases from 8 or 9 to 12 or 14 pts. When replying to HTML messages, the font is fine. I use Trebuchet MS font (my company's mandated font on all correspondence). Is there any way to correct this? It looks very silly for my signature to be huge! I have created several rules to move incoming messages to designated subfolders, but now I am unaware of new messages because they do not trigger a new message alert since they are moved from the Inbox upon arrival.     - Using Gmail in my Outlook Hi, I am Diala. I am using Gmail in Microsoft Outlook 2003. Everytime I send an email and copy myself, all recipients receive my email except me. But if I open my gmail account from the explorer I find the email sent from Me to Me. The only way I can get this email in my Outlook Inbox is to go to "gmail settings" from the explorer and "Enable POP for all mail" which means I'll receive a copy of all emails again inluding the OLD ones (which are already in my outlook inbox).     - international sms with outlook I am using Outlook and the add-on sms module for OutLook from MicroSoft. I can send an international sms from my cell with no problem. Using the same number, wehn trying to send through this new SMS add-on module, I keep on getting an error stating that the number is incorrect.     - Outlook 2003 OLE forms error Due to a corrupted local profile I had to remove/delete and reset a local profile on one of our computers. We have a special message form that we use for outgoing mail. Prior to resetting the profile the form worked correctly. Since resetting the profile after publishing the form to the Inbox when the user tries to access the form he receives the following message. "The form you selected could not be displayed. An error occurred registering the form in the OLE registry." I have deleted the form through the forms manager, cleared the cache and republished the form with the same results.     - There appears to be a navigation error in Windows Live Mail Used this category because "Windwos Live Mail" isn't a selection option...neither is "Other". I am using Windows Live Mail with my XP operating system...all service packs are current. Windows Live Mail appears to have a navigation error. If I enter my email contacts, forget to enter a Subject, then type in my email and hit "Send" I get the message that I didn't include a Subject, do I want to continue? If I select Cancel I am returned to the email....but I cannot enter a Subject. I can place the cursor in the Subject line and type, but the typing goes into the email at the point where my cursor last was. (sorry about the grammar) Regardless of what I try I cannot enter data into the Subject line. I can send the email, it just won't have a Subject. I couldn't find a place online that would allow me to send the info to Microsoft to tell them about the apparent bug.     - Unable to right click in the Inbox Hi All, I have a user who is unable to right click within his Inbox. We are running Outlook 2003 in an XP environment. Whenever the user right clicks in the email nothing happens however he can right click in his folder list and within the email. The user wants to be able to just right click on the email and block the sender (or delete the email) but now he has to go through the file menu to get these things done so while this is not MAJOR it is an annoyance and any help that can be given would be appreciated.     - Email Contents Disappear After receiving an email in Outlook 2002 and viewing the email, I move onto the next email and later go back to the first email, the contents are gone. Even the size of the email has been reduced to 2 or 3 kbytes. This only seems to happen with certain senders. The only way I know of to get the content is to check my email from the webmail of my provider. Then cut and past to a document. Is there a setting that is causing the email contents to disappear?     - Outlook does archives "Do not archive" folders While my default archive settings are to archive items older than 3 months, a couple of folders with "pending" issues, all listed under a "Pending" folder, do get archived.     - HTML Images Get Stripped-Out Hello, I have an intermittent problem. When I send an HTML page as an e- mail, Outlook 2003 sometimes strips out the images (jpg's) and sends them as attachments. It only does this for certain HTML pages. It sends some OK. This is probably the fault of the third-party add-in that I'm using, "Send Individually". With one of our web pages it works fine, sending out the whole HTML webpage as a unified e-mail. With another webpage, it strips out the images. It actually works OK in plain old Outlook. It's only when I try to use "Send Individually" that this problem intermittently occurs. And their Tech Support people don't seem to know why. Maybe if someone is real good in HTML they could see something.     - 2 Outlook Newbie questions Dear Outlook gurus: I've used Eudora as my email client for 25 years and know it very well. But now I've just changed jobs, and I have to learn Outlook. I'm picking it up ok, but one thing bothers me: unless I'm missing something, the "Send" button doesn't mean what it says. It appears that when I compose a message and click "Send", Outlook doesn't send it, just moves it to the Outbox. I then have to do a second step, "Send and Receive" (or a "Send All"), to actually get the message on its way. I keep forgetting to do that. Is there any way to eliminate this two-step process? Oh, and another thing: when I open an attachment, is there a way I can tell Outlook at that moment what program to use? For example, if I receive a tab-delimited .txt file, maybe I want to open it with Excel, but I want to continue to open other .txt files with a text editor.     - BOLD GROUP HEADINGS FOR NEW MAIL Hello, I have my inbox grouped by Date (Today, Yesterday, Last Week, etc) and for some reason when I have new mail (or old undread mail) the group headings are not bold or fonted differently from groupings with nothing but unread mail.     - "You dont have permission to perform this operation. " I have a laptop that cratered one me.. Windows XP.....I had to do a system restore from the beginning. Lost a lot but no biggie. Had Office 97 full version on it and then had the 2003 Office Upgrade. Had no problems before it crashed. Got everything fixed on the laptop. Got all the windows updated and went to upload the Office again and had problems right off the bat with 97. Couldnt find my default folders. Figured I had a Registry problem. Deleted 97 and then Went into Registry and renamed all the folders in Office to OLD. This allowed me to Load 97 again and then the 2003 upgrade. When I started 2003 I got an error "An error occured in the folder shortcuts file .fav Outlook will recreate the defualt folder shortcuts. " And I could do nothing. Kept getting the error. At this point I went to Control panel and deleted the program and then went to regedit again renamed everything and then loaded it all back up again. During the 2003 profiles being set up. Put in Pop3, SMTP strings passwords and emails address. In Tools, emails accounts. I did the test. Everything checks out. It sends and receives. I went to my hotmail to verify it is being sent and it work. I go to start a new email.... As soon as I hit the Send/recieve button in the tool bar I get the error "You dont have permission to perform this operation. " However it DOES send the email... I just can not receive emails. I saw in other posts to change the outlook .SRS files. I did a search on my c drive of all files. hidden as well. I dont see any. I went to Documents and settings/Administrator/Application data/Microsfot/office/outlook and tried to see if the files were in the outlook folder. I can not open the folder and when I hover it says the folder is empty.l. I get the error that "Outlook is not accessible. Access denied." I did go to the Documents and setting and make sure the READ ONLY was NOT checked. Yet still having the problem. Can not receive mail and the errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     - Can I set Outlook to only download messages for specific a/c's? I know I can do this in Outlook Express; by checking/unchecking the 'include this account in sending and receiving' but I cannot see the option in Outlook.     - O2007 not honoring "do not send read receipt" Well kind of. I have defined in my preferences to "never send read receipts". It turns out that Outlook is still generating "not read" receipts for unread items being deleted by the auto-archive procedure. Is there a way to turn this off ? The problem is whenever it synchs it erases part of my contact notes in Outlook (apparently there is a limit on the amount of info it synchs with Hotmail and I lose my all my info that I wrote in my contact notes beyond a certain limit). The alternatives seem to be: Character Map, which is effective but long-winded, Insert, Symbol, which is not available unless you are using Word as the editor, Character code, which is fine as long as you can remember the code Autocorrect, which again assumes Word is the editor. If I don't wish to use Word, how can I get a list of character codes? When I type in.... mailto:mailto:Bob@domain.com?attachment="D:\mytext.txt" only the address mailto:Bob@domain.com gets typed-in, in the to: field, but the file does not get attached.     - HTML troubles Hi, I am trying to use HTML in an e-mail, just for fun, to try and spruce up my e-mail signature. However, this is hardly straight forward and so far my efforts haven't worked. I googled it, and the main option was to create the webpage in MS Word, and then use word facilities to send the html page as an e-mail. However, whenever I try and add some simply html code such as <marquee> hello world </marquee> the MS word document displays a huge red cross, and my code seems to be gone from the HTML source. Although strangely, if I open the file in internet explorer, the marquee code functions correctly. Just in Word it shows the red cross. Why is this happening?? Im having issue with Microsoft office sending e-mails. I receive all my
message through outlook but when ever want to reply to that message i have
to go to the internet and reply through web-based for the person to receive
it . it doesnt give me an error code it sends the e-mail like normal and
when i ask the person did u get my e-mail its always no unless i send it via
the internet
