"error occured while attempting to open windows address book"

Two issues: 1) when I try to send an email I get the message "An error
occured while attempting to open windows address book", and the meesage can't
be sent. 2) The messages in the inbox appear to be unopened (in bold)
although they have been opened and read.

Two issues, but no information. Read this before you post next time, and
don't bother to post at all without including Outlook version and accurate,
detailed steps to reproduce your problem. How else is anyone supposed to
help you?

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.
