Re-download of Outlook 2007
I purchased Outlook 2007 with the optional license lock box in March of 2008.
I had a major system crash on my computer and lost Outlook. I need to
reinstall it but don't know where to go to download it. The transaction was
billed by Digital River, but they they sent me back to Microsoft. I have the
product key but I need to know where to go to download the program. I am at
a loss.

why does the instant search only search one folder?
I've downloaded the Instant Search feature, and I have a few foldres set up
in Mail, however when I do a Search it only searches in the first folder not
in all of them - I have 'All folders' marked in the SEarch options, so how

what can I do with error 553 when sending a mai from outlook 2007
Im using Outlook 2007 with vista Professionnel abd Business contact manager.
I have upgraded to Vista SP1.
Outlook is not stable because:
1- when sending a mail , I receive "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list
of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)"
2- when exiting Outlook, task manager shows me outlook is still uninng and
SQL Server as well. I cannot backup my files because a user is still
connected. I need to kill the process or to rboot. I want to avoid that.
3- i want to see at the bottom of the screen (Reading panel) the start of
the content of the message. Sometimes, it shows it and most of the time it
doen't . What do I need to do ?
4- When changing the display view, the previous selection is persistent when
it has to be blank
5- when viewing a mail, sometime I don't see the attachments when I receive

How do I turn on the Auto correct option on my outlook?
In my Tools>Options>Mail Format>Editor Options>Proofing>AutoCorrect Options,
the autocorrect and the "Wehn correcting spelling in Outlook" are totally

Values of fields FROM and TO are not displayed
Hi
We have the following issue with one of our business partners.
Sometimes when we exchange emails, the fields FROM and TO are blank in the
incoming messages header in Outlook.
We are using Exchange 2003 SP2 in Japanese with Outlook 2003 in Japanese.
Our business partner is using Exchange 2000 SP3 English with Outlook 2003 and
2007.
It sounds the problem is only happening between our 2 systems. None of us
has the same issue with other business partners...
Any idea about what causes the problem?

HELP - Outlook Error?
Does anyone have any suggestions on Outlook?
Outlook 2003 (build 11.5608.5703) keeps closing after
encountering a problem during the receive task of message
send/receive from a POP3 server. On re-start the problem
keeps recuring. Any help would be appreciated as I'm all out of ideas.

Outlook2007 goes offline
Hello,
I use Vista Home (laptop) + Outlook 2007. My email accounts are IMAP and
POP3.
I noticed recently that Outlook goes Offline by itself. This happens quite
often either with cable connection or Wireless connection to LAN. I have to
'send/receive' (F9) to change Outlook state (Offline to Online).
How do I keep my connection Online permanently ?

Missing "Sent Items" folder
I have a mailbox on Exchange 2003 that have the "Sent Items" folder missing
from Outlook folder view. It does not show up in OWA either. If I do a
search in Outlook for any sent itmes, the emails comes up. So...the sent
emails are there but just not visible.
I have done a outlook.exe /resetfolders
I have deleted mailbox from AD and then reconnected again.
I tried doing an exmerge to the mailbox but the resulting pst file does not
contain the "sent items" either.
Any other ideas?? My next step is just to recreating the mailbox and then

Outlook 2007 will not send or receive email
ISP is AT&T; all pop & smtp settings triple checked; ISP email works online,
but will not go via Outlook. Used system restore feature--no change. Used
"repair" feature on MS Office 2007 original install CD--no effect.
Sample error message:

'Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you

AT&T Tier 2 tech support says it is an MS Windows or Outlook software issue.
This is happening on an HP/Compaq Presario desktop model SR2150NX, with
1.75 GB ram, running Vista Home Basic.

Missing msvcr71.dll
I'm running WIN XP and Office 2003. I was trying to install Outlook Busness
Contact Manager and after it was installed when I opened Outlook it told me
there was an error and it would need to close. After several tries I
uninstalled OBCM. I then put in the Outlook Small Business Ed 2003 CD and
clicked on repair Outlook 2003. When it got finished it said it did not
complete the installation. When I opened Outlook I got an error that said
"This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem". I tried re-installing
Outlook and the error continues. Outlook appears to run just fine after I

Printing a draft with addressees
I use MS-Word as my email editor and after typing an email and inserting the
addressees email addresses also have saved it as a draft.
Now I want to print a copy of the same for approval from my senior but
unfortunately what I get is a totally simple word type of document not one in
the memo form as of received or sent email.
Any hint how to overcome this?

Outlook + Secure Email Certificates = FAIL

Firstly I like to think I know what i'm doing when it comes to outlook and computing in general but this problem's really got me stumpted. Not to mention when I try to ask someone at microsoft they won't let me since my corporate key is apparently "non-genuine" but anyways.
The issue is, when the end user (who has a valid, signed, certificate issued by verisign) double clicks on an encrypted email is prompts him for a password. He types it in and all is well. But when he double clicks on another encrypted email, it doesn't prompt him for a password.
He wants it to prompt him everytime and I just can't figure out how to do it. The security setting on the certificate is set to HIGH so it should prompt him everytime its used. The main thing here is he wants it to prompt him everytime.

wowway e-mail account added to Outlook 2003, but no mail received
I added my wowway e-mail account to Outlook 2003. I entered all the correct
pop3 server information, as provided by wow. I ran the test and all checked
out. I can send from that account in Outlook, but no messages show up in the
inbox. I have to go online to wowway to view my messages. I have an aol
account in Outlook as well and it works fine. Any advice?

what is a "personal folders password" for outlook2 ?
I needed help with a problem with my outlook. It worked fine for a while and
now when I try to open it a message comes up that says it needs to start in "
safe mode". I then start it in safe mode and a prompt comes up that says "
Personal Folder Password" and then asks me to "type password for Outlook2". I
have no idea what this password is or how to correct the problem. Can you

Email Configuration Outlook 07
I am unable to connect to my pop3 account via Outlook despite all the
settings being verified as correct (I am able to access the account webmail).
Is there something I am missing in the configuration process that my local
cable internet service is unfamiliar with? (Currently connecting to internet

PST Backups
As PST files cant go on the network drives they have to go on the local C:\

Outlook 2007 not connecting to the internet
I am running Outlook 2007 on Vista. It is set up as my default email
program. When I review my email profile settings from the control panel and
send a test message it sends just fine, and appears on my Blackberry so I
know it's working.
However, I can't send or receive from Outlook 2007. It times out in trying
to connect to the server.
I tried clicking on the "search the web" icon from outlook and it tells me
that I'm not connected to the internet, even though I can access the internet
when I open my browser from the desktop.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2007 and that didn't help.
I ran the Office Diagnostics with no errors found.
I am able to send and receive from Windows Mail but prefer to use Office
2007. Any suggestions?

Outlook 2003 - Font Size for Read Receipts
A user of mine would like the font size of read receipts to be larger. They
are currently 10pt. Since presumably the read receipts are generated by the
recipients email system (is this correct???), is there any control over the
font size of these items? Other inbox items have a font size of 14pt.

MS Outlook 2000 will not open! I have reinstalled MS Outlook 2000 and will
still not open but get dialogue box come up with [ Outlook could not open the
file containing the folders used to send and receive e-mail messages, create

Calendar causes Outlook to Hang
I am a new user to Microsoft Outlook 2007. It has been installed for three days during which time I have been using each of the email, calendar, contact and to do list functions without incident.
This afternoon I was in the email part of the system when I decided to look at my calendar. I pressed the Calendar tab in the bottom left corner of the screen. Instead of replacing the emial highlighting, IN ADDITION the Calendar tab was highlighted as well as the email tab. I got the system not responding message. The system tried to send an error report to Microsoft, but that also hung up after a few minutes. I used the Task manager to exit which also hung up. Eventually using task manager I could close down each program running individually each time getting system could not close down on each program individually including non Outlook programs before finally exiting.
I rebooted, repeated the process with exactly the same results. Each time the Calendar button is pressed, Outlook stops working at all,hangs and is very difficult to exit from even using Task Manager.Switching between Email, todo and contacts works fine. Moving from any of these three into Caledar causes the same effect desribed above leaving two keys highlighted and a hanging Outlook. Other programs continue fine.
I am a new Outlook user (previously Eudora email and Lotus Organiser 6 contact) , calendar and to do list. I have not imported data from either system yet.
I am running a Dell with a Local partitioned disk TOSHIBA MK1252GSX . I have plenty of capactity using Antivir virus protection and Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Signature block issues

Using Outlook 2003, I'm having a number of issues with my signature block -
such as:
- if I amend the plain text signature, it seems to reformat the HTML
version. Is there a way round this?
- sometimes when I click on reply, everything including the signature block
seems to come out doubled spaced...
Finally, is there any way to suppress the signature block when it is not
needed on certain emails? Intuitively I wondered if, say, clicking on reply
(or forward) whilst holding down the shift or control key would achieve
this, but it doesn't seem to.

ARGHH! outlook 2003 has revoked my permissions!
OK -- I "upgraded" from Vista back to XP -- then "upgraded" from Office 2007
to 2003 6 months ago. Is this microsoft payback?

simple rule: move mail from ThisSource to a ThisFolder. Piece of cake, right?
Not right!
Outlook "virtually" slapped me back and informed me I lacked "appropriate
persmission ...!" Mind you I'm the sole user, always have been; the sole
admin, etc., no user profiles to get into conflicts. Went to delete a
different email: BAM! "You lack appropriate permission to perform this
operation."

Signature and default font color
Upgraded to OUtlook 2007 last week. Using a signature in emails that uses
both blue and black font colors. If I change my reply to default font color
to blue, the signature also changes to all blue. Is this a bug or is there a

Spell check not working in Outlook 2007
We are migrating to Office 2007. We have approx. 600 users on Office 2007.
We are using Windows XP SP2, Office 2007 with Exchange 2003 SP2. Several
users have called in reporting that spell check is not working. Words are
misspelled, will do a spell check, and the spell check does not find them.
Another user performs a spell check and when they right click on the
misspelled word, words appear but they are grayed out so the user cannot
select the correct spelling of the word.
I have looked for the Override folder in the registry, but this does not
exist. I have checked all settings. This is sporadic and not happening to
all users. We have uninstalled and resinstalled Office 2007, created a new
Outlook profile, ran an Office Diagnostics, nothing seems to fix this issue.
Anything else we can do to resolve this issue?

I have a .PST file which was created under outlook 2007. I'm trying to
imported on my outllok 2002 w/SP3 but outlook keeps on given me an error
message. It seems that my version of outlook cannot import the .PST file

Letters & Envelopes in 2007
In Outlook 2003 I could right click a contact and get a template for writing
a letter. In 2007 this seems to missing. Now it's an involved process of
starting up a new Word document and pasting and copying the contact
information. Is there a simpler way for doing just one letter and envelope?
Am I missing something?

Autocompletion Annoyance
This may seem trivial, but it is somewhat annoying so I wanted to see if
anyone had a solution or whether I just had to "deal" with it....
When I go to type someone's name in the "To:" field of an email the normal
autocompletion list populates, however, although the person I write the
emails to the most is at the top of that list, it highlights a different
name so I have to scroll to the top of the list to select the person I email
the most. Why does it not start with the top of the list. It just started
doing this for some reason. The only thing I can think of is that the person
at the top of the list is in my contacts folder while the one automatically
highlighted before I have to scroll back up is in the GAL. Any clues???

Calendar item reminder
Since I use Outlook 2007 to eventlually check my e-mails and keep my
contacts, I don't open it everyday.
My main *.pst file is password protected, but still I would like to find a
way to make Outlook remind me of calendar's upcoming events even if I don't
open it. Maybe I will need to keep calendar entries in a separate *.pst file
without password.

opening attachments
I have outlook 2007 and received an attach. in wordpad which when i double
clicked to open said it was not supported so silly me chose notepad hoping
maybe i could read the file. Well i can't its not readable, i then tried to
save the file and open with to try another pgm but it comes up the same way.
Did it change the whole file and i am stuck now or can i get it back to
being .wpd so i can try to open it again and actually read it? also what
would i open it using?

Sig when reply to RTF
When replying to RTF messages, my Signature font increases from 8 or 9 to 12
or 14 pts. When replying to HTML messages, the font is fine. I use
Trebuchet MS font (my company's mandated font on all correspondence).
Is there any way to correct this? It looks very silly for my signature to
be huge!

Automatically expand group if new email arrives in subfolder?
I have created several rules to move incoming messages to designated
subfolders, but now I am unaware of new messages because they do not trigger
a new message alert since they are moved from the Inbox upon arrival. Is it
