i cannot delete emails to deleted items folder

I have 2 accounts in outlook 2003. My original account works perfectly. In my
new account, I cannot delete emails from my inbox. When I try, I only get a
strike through on the email and it remains in the inbox. Looking through the
menus, I cannot see where to change this.

Your second account sounds like an IMAP account. To remove the deleted
items, you need to use the Purge option from the Edit menu (IIRC).
