Outlook 2003 -- Exchange server

It's happened to me and a few of my users. One day, for no apparent reason,
the autocompletion cache just seems to vanish. Users start typing an email
address expecting to see a list of addresses previously used, and nothing
happens.

Unfortunately, too many people rely on this list and don't put addresses in
their Contacts.

Can anyone explain why they may vanish and how to stop it from happening?

thx

Posted here almost every day. The feature is not reliable or robust. Users
should never rely upon it as a data source unless you want to invest in
third party software that can repair the cache or the connection to it, both
of which can become corrupt easily.
The only way to restore the function without third party software is to
create a new Outlook profile--and start over with an empty cache. If you can
find and rename the old cache and rename it to match the new profile, you
might be able to recover the data that way.

Thanks Russ. I tried a search but apparently didn't phrase the question very
well.

If you're using Microsoft's search functions for these groups, they are
worthless. Use Google groups:
