I have a client that got a new laptop with Office 2007 on it. He can see his
old archives, but he likes to manually archive and he does not have archive
under the file menu. Instead he has a send to bluetooth option. How do we
get the archive option under file menu back?

Thanks,
Greg Bowers

is he using the full expanded menu?
If so, have you tried the Customize function to see if the Archive menu item
can be added?

Yes he is using the full expanded menus. I looked thru the customize
options, but did not see a way to add archive into the menu.

Thanks,
Greg

Does he log onto a Domain and use exchange server? It may be that the Admin
has stopped all use of local pst files by a group policy...

Yes we are on a domain and use exchange. But he is the only one that does
not have the archive option under the file menu. One of my co-workers writes
the GPO's for our clients and we have not set anything about archiving in the
GPO's. We want people to archive.

Thanks,
Greg

Have you tried a "Detect and Repair" on that particular machine?

Nope have not tried that yet. It is a new laptop and new install of Office
2007, so did not think that doing detect and repair would be the answer. Not
sure when he will be in the office for me to try it.

Thanks,
Greg

I tried that and it did not work. Then tried to uninstall and reinstall and
it still did not show the archive option under file. Then unistalled again
and installed Office 2003 and it did have the archive option, so I upgraded
to 2007, but then the archive option disappeared.

Thanks,
Greg
