    - Task printing in calendar view I want to print my calendar with the taskpad list on the right hand side of the paper. I select View; Taskpad View; Today's Tasks.     - Outlook 2000 Outbox Like an idiot, I tried to send a large movie file (180MB) by e-mail to several recipients. Believe me, I know better. Anyhow, when I start Outlook, the MAPI Spooler starts sending the file that eventually won't go. I cannot hit the delete button fast enough before MAPISP32.exe starts. This procedure blocks all Outlook functions since the CPU runs at 100%. How do I delete the file and the attachment without opening Outlook?     - Outlook is helpfully devouring my past appointments...can I stop i Hi. I just noticed after autosyncing my PDA and my laptop, that all the appointments for March 2007 and prior no longer show up in my calendar. I wanted to keep them there, in case I need to refer back to find out when/where I did something. I'm assuming this is some kind of automatic default feature.     - E-mail alerts for custom folders I searched for an answer on the forum but came up empty; please forgive me if this is an old topic. Outlook can display an envelope icon in our system tray to alert us that a new e-mail message is in our Inbox. I have configured rules to divert incoming e-mail messages into any of several custom folders, but I cannot discern how to enable the envelope icon to announce a new message in any of those custom folders.     - Junk Mail Filtering We just started using Exhcnage 2007 and I cannot enable my junk mail settings - that is no email will go into the folder On outlook 2007 client, it says I need to have caching enabled, which I do. On OWA, it says it is enabled. Now I had duplicate folders for awhile (due to a security and DST patches). When we upgraded to 2007, that got rid of the folders, but I wonder if I accidentally deleted that junk mail folder and the one that is there does not "work" Also, my rules - I set up one and it is not working locally. Some of the dupe folders I deleted but others (like calendar, tasks, etc, I just basically lived with). Any thing that I can do? -- Corey R.     - Reading Pane I use Outlook 2007 and I am having a problem with "reading Pane" I go to view>Reading pane>off which is what I want. When I am done the view pane is off, but when I go to another folder like "sent folder" and come back to my inbox, the reading pane somehow is enabled and shows me vertical reading pane which I do not want.     - Import data from Public Folder hi, We are running Exchange-2003, Currently when any of our employee requests a vaccation or a day off that info is put in the "Vacation Calendar" in Public Folders (ie Public Folders--Calendars--Vacation Calendar). Is there any way I can pull ths information (ie Names of employes that are on vaccation) from exchange server and send it to a table in SQL-2000 Db. Can any one let me know if there is a way to do this?     - 'Message Recall Failure' emails I recently sent a recall for one message that went out to the same individual who had two different business addresses. I get email notices back every 30 minutes from his A address that state: Your message To: John doe@ B.com Subject: Recall: Sent: 5/4/2007 8:46 PM could not be recalled on 5/7/2007 12:20 PM.     - Outlook 2003 trying to automatically save unsent e-mails as text f Hi there, I've got a user on my network using Outlook 2003 and lately she's been getting the "save as" dialog box popping up when composing e-mail. It seems that Outlook 2003 wants to automatically save her unsent messages as a text file on our network.     - Outlook '03 - Problems with Send/Receive function When I click on Send/Receive I get an error message, "Operation Failed" and that's all it will do. I can check emails by clicking on Tools, then Send/Receive and then the correct email account, but not by simply clicking the Send/Receive button. i am also unable to change any settings for Send/Receive under Options -> Mail Setup. i get the same error message if I try to click into the options area for this. This problem only began to occur after I had been running the trial version of Outlook '07 and then chose to revert back to the older version after the trial was ended.     - "Can't move the items" message from Advanced Find window A little background... I'm using Outlook 2002. I just created two new personal folders files to divy up the contents of my default Personal Folders file. I moved all the desired mail notes to the two new personal folders, compressed my now 3 personal folders, and have restarted Outlook at least a couple of times. If I open Advanced Find and look for mail notes in my Inbox, I can no longer take the search results from the Advanced Find window and move those mail notes to any of my personal folders or even another folder within my Inbox. I get the message "Can't move the items." If I locate the individual mail notes within my various Inbox folders, I can move them with no problems; it's only when I try to move them from within the Advanced Find search results window that it won't work. I did not have this issue until I created two new Personal Folder files and this is my primary workflow for finding related mail notes and moving to the appropriate personal folder locations. Help please! I'm about to give up and go back to one Personal Folders file and micromanaging it to make sure I don't go over the PST size limit (the original PST file and the three I have now are not even close to the limit).     - Auto Replies for specific email addresses in same exchange box I have users at a company that have multiple email addresses in their exchange box. IE a user john will have john@xyz.com, comments@xyz.com and myspace@xyz.com He wants to setup an auto reply so that whenever an email gets sent to comments@xyz.com it gets sent, BUT if an email gets sent to john@xyz.com there is none. I have tried to setup a client - side rule to no avail. I have enabled autoreplies in the Exchange System Manager.     - Right Click - Send to - Outlook I recently installed Outlook 2002. I have never used it before, I have always used express. In express you can select multiple files in any folder, then right click, send to, mail recipient, and a new OE email would open with all files selected attached. I have set Outlook as my default email software everywhere I can think of, and cannot get it to go to Outlook when I do the right click-send to, it still opens OE instead.     - Outlook 2007 - Changing Default Search Is there a way to change the Outlook 2007 default search? Currently it searches all parts of the email for a particular email folder. Can I change this to only search the From field in the email header? I know that I can add search criteria by clicking the >>, but is there a way to make it always just search a specific field or set of fields instead of the entire email.     - Online/offline dates My clients outlook when accessing Exchange online (May 7th) is OK. When he disconnects from the network and uses Outlook offline it reverts back to April 20th. We just did a move of SBS to a new server but all other clients are functioning as expected. The only real abnormality is that his XP sp2 installation is on a Fat32 partition. When sending calendar appointments, the recipients are receiving them as regular emails instead of normal meeting requests where they can click Accept, Tenative, or Decline. I have gone in to the control panel >> Keyboard to slow the curse flash rate right down so that it doesnt blink when I type. In any program I open ie; Word, excel, notepad the curser will not blink.     - External access to Outlook Hi, Outlook 2003. Windows XP SP2. The accounting package I use in my business has a function to send invoices by email, via Outlook. Problem is, for every single invoice, Outlook (I guess) first asks if access is allowed and then if the email should be sent. I send out about 400 invoices every month, so this is tiresome. This usually brings up a tabbed set of dialogs. None of them have the button you seem to describe. Sometimes upon right-clicking no set of dialogs shows up. When I do this I don't see a button on any of several tabbed customization screens, I use Outlook 2007 and the data used to show these other (non-default) categories in the category assignment box, but I reformatted the laptop and had to re-install Outlook and its .pst file. I must say that the lack of guidance in the "Help" file is maddening, especially since the [on-line] info comes from a changeable source, so that as people ask question they can add to the info there.     - OUTLOOK 2002...Archive Using Outlook 2002.... When the Popup Window appears recommending I Archive, I always select OK. However, today when that window appeared and I clicked OK I noticed it was Archiving DELETED ITEMS. That seemed a waste of space in my opinion, I deleted the items in my Deleted Folder because I no longer needed them so why should they be archived (I went thru folders today and deleted old item I no longer needed) ? I went to the Outlook folder and saw the Archive Folder, it showed it was accessed today. The folders I have in the OUTLOOK Sub Folder are (1) Outlook.pst (which I am sure houses all e-mails/Data) (2)Archive.pst (3)Outlook1.pst (4) Outlook1.log (5) Outlook.log (6) Archive.log. What if any of these folders can I safely delete (other than Outlook.pst....which again house all of Outlooks current messages/data).     - How do I export my color category list to the Exchange server? Hi -- when I initially synced my Outlook 2007 client with the Outlook Exchange 2007 server, the server copied the color categories I was using in the client, so that the category lists matched and if I assigned a category to a message in Outlook, the message took on the same color in Exchange (using web access). Now, however, when I add new color categories or change the color assigned to a category in the Outlook client, the server doesn't catch the change: new color categories I've created in the Outlook client aren't assigned any color in Exchange and don't appear in the Exchange list.     - Count Fields Content Hello, I have four fields call Team1, Team2, Team3 & Team4. Each of the fields are linked to a lookup table that has 22 team names.     - Contact not indexed Hy guys I had problems with a pst so I created a new file and exported the content of the previous one into the new one. A part from some mail lost (don't really know why), the worst thing is that the contacts aren't indexed. If I try to look for a contact name I don't get result, but if I scroll down to the contact starting letter the element is there. I've tried to perform some search without results, as well as look into the help, or browse into the option. Nothing useful. At least I don't find anything. Maybe some wrong research.     - Can't open msg files Hello I have been sent a number of files with the extension msg, which were created in Outlook. (I'm not sure which version, but probably 2000.) When I try to open them in Outlook 2000, I get an error message "Unable to read item". I am running Outlook inside Virtual PC on a Mac, but I don't think this is the problem because I can open the items with Word (from inside VPC). Unfortunately a lot of the items have pdf attachments, which Word can't read. Can anyone help me open these items, or at least save the attachments so that I can open them with Acrobat? A couple of days ago I signed up to Windows Live OneCare. 2 computers
running on Vista Ultimate. On one Outlook 2003 and it works fine. On the
other with Office Ultimate 2007 Outlook 2007 opens and gives an error message
that Windows Search Engine is currently disabled. Oulook will not be able to
provide fast search results.......... etc. Contact system administrator.
Has anyone any suggestions on resolving the message?

Problem resolved by entering "Search" and system then displayed message that
"index was idle." Same restarted OK.
