    - Closing Error Outlook 07 XPSP2 Hi there, My Outlook seems to be working fine until I close it. I get the following error message. Outlook has encountered a problem.... needs to close. Then you get the send or don't send report option. The data error report is as follows.... AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 12.0.6300.5000 AppStamp:4760725d ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 ModStamp:00000000 fDebug: 0 Offset: 0304dfc3 I have run the diagnostics twice. All good. One of the other MVP's stated in another section, that it was probably an add-in in the trust options area. Going there, I have no idea what I need to do. I haven't added anything recently to my computer that I believe would cause this. Is there a way that this problem can be fixed using really simple step by step instructions? Other strings that I have read about this issue have not been helpful and have become rather nasty in tone. Is there a larger problem looming on the horizon, if I ignore the error message?     - Show Office Clipboard? Office 2003 Frequently after a cut & paste a panel comes up on the right hand side of the screen showing the Office Clipboard. I hate this, I don't want it, I click the options box at the bottom and deselect "Show Office Clipboard Automatically".     - Vista Ultimate / Ultimate lost emails It seems that I have lost ALL my emails, not only from my inbox, but all folders under "personal." Not sure what I did, but I do recall a bold "follow-up" folder that I think I deleted. Now everything is gone. I tried to import the *.pst folders from their 'assigned' locations, emails still are still missing. I do not understand how to retrieve my emails. One Outlook Help search described how to recover deleted items, yet under the tools menu, the "recover deleted items" does not appear for "where you deleted the item, or in the deleted items folder" (quoted from article). This happened TODAY, early this morning. Am I wrong to assume they are still somewhere on my computer? I hope I can retrieve them! HELP, please!!!!!!!!!!!!     - Where are new messages delivered in Outlook 2007? Greetings all - Platform: Dell XPS M1530, Intel Core2 Duo 2.4Ghz, 4GM Ram, 250 GB hd. Vista Ultimate SP1 Just ordered and installed Outlook 2007. The automated install apparently found my previous OL2003 .pst file, imported all messages, contacts, and even all my POP3 and SMTP settings. "Test account settings" seems to work fine, sending works fine; but incoming mail is not appearing in my inbox. I have sent test messages to other accounts successfully. When I go to the other account (on another computer), I've tried hitting "reply" to the message, or typing in the email address of the outlook account that's having a problem, "send/receive" appears to work with no errors (even in the detail view), but no new email messages appear in my inbox.     - Preferred repair utilities for PST recovery or extraction. I see that this topic comes up ALOT with Outlook. With regard to Outlook 2007, I have a 1.2 Gb PST file recovered from a failing external USB drive. It as critical contact and calendar information, along with the email. scanpst.exe did not sufficiently repair the file to be able to have Outlook 2007 access it. We're ready to move on to better options for data recovery. Of the software THAT YOU HAVE TRIED, what has worked well for you? We see a wide variety of options that claim to get everything back, from $30 to $250 and up. We will do this ourselves, as the pay-to-recovery firms are using the same tools and we'd just as soon own it ourselves than pay their rates.     - Email Not Received On 1 of 5 Accounts Using Outlook 2003 SP3 for 5 email accounts. Mave Business Contact Manager 2.00.5324.00 installed but don't think it's relavent to issue since it's little used and has been there for two years without incident. Around 7/1/08 I began getting this message each time my email accounts were checked: Task 'jhg - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If youcontinue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' ISP is Time WArner Road Runner who ran me through the hoops and finally drove me here. They did admit there may be "a temporary server issue" but made no attempt to investigate further. They finally drove ne here. Can anyone give me a clue? I finally delerted the account and reentered it thinking some part of the file may have been corrupted. The other four email accounts run there check coourse without incident.     - O2003, pst corrupted? I had trouble with a fresh install of O2003 after an hdd wipe/reinstall. I messed up in that I didn't import the PST. I set it as the target PST first only. _Then_ I tried importing it. Somehow that seems to have screwed things up. After importing, I only got the calendar and tasks but no emails. And I forgot to make a copy first (I know, bad!). Is there anything that can be done to salvage this?     - toolbars cannot be selected Hi, I am using my Mum's computer (she has VISTA & I'm struggling) and her OUtlook 2007 has 'turned off' her toolbar that contains 'New', 'reply' 'reply all', etc... it is grey and cannot be selected.     - Suddenly not receiving all messages in Outlook 2007 In the last week or so, I have not received all the messages in Outlook that I have received in Webmail for the same account. I contacted the ISP, which provides the mail server, and during the call it dawned on me to set up Outlook Express for the same account (set to leave a copy on the server). Sure enough, I got ALL the mail from the server in Outlook Express, but not in Outlook, which narrows down the problem to Outlook. I checked my spam folders and the deleted folder, but the messages never made it to either place. I do have rules set up to move mail from many addresses to specified folders, including at least some of the addresses of the missing mail, but the rules aren't working. I really don't understand why so many of the rules I've set up in Outllook 2003 and 2007 never work and some of the others work intermittently. But I don't think my problems with rules are the culprit here, or at least the messages would have made it to the inbox. Does anybody have any idea what's going on?     - Outlook 2007 only "partially" closing at times Running Outlook 2007 SP1 in a hosted Exchange environment (host is still on 2003 server), on XP Pro SP2. Relatively new system. Lately, sometimes when I close Outlook, the Reminders window fails to close with it and I have to close it manually, and then when I later relaunch Outlook it fails to prompt me for the username and password and just opens my Profile and is online. Sometimes, it doesn't do this: it closes the Reminders window fine, and when later launching Outlook again it prompts me for the username and password -- like it's supposed to do and like it always used to do. If I go into Task Manager - Processes and choose OUTLOOK.EXE - End Process Tree, it will go back to proper behavior, but it won't last very long.     - 2003 server with 2007 client -- Categories won't work right? We use a hosted Exchange Server provider who still has us on 2003 server while we're runnning Outlook 2007 SP1 at the local clients. All is fine in general, of course, but we've been told by the hosting service that one of the main features of 2007 that won't work properly until they go to the 2007 server is Categories. This has just become a very important topic to us since we've learned that the best way to manage our Contacts is with Categories (and not Distribution Lists). How can I obtain a thorough and accurate picture of exactly what will be lacking if we begin to use Categories at this time: what will be lacking now, and what if anything will be lost or changed once the host does go to 2007 server?     - My Deleted Items folder has disappeared! As the subject says, my 'Deleted Items' folder has disappeared from my Mail folders display. Running O2007 in XPSP2. If I check the properties (folder size) of the personal folders, I can see that the folder exists and has data (105Mb!) in it.     - AutoCorrect Disappearing Using Windowx XP Pro with latest updates and Office 2007. I have entered AutoCorrect items into Outlook for replies to an email, and they keep disappearing when I start outlook again or reboot. This is very frustrating. Any ideas? Is it possible to enter AutoCorrect from the main menu instead of only when replying to a message? Reply is the only time you get the Office Button that has the proofing/autocorrect option. When you double click on an email to view it all, if you click X to delete, the next email is displayed in full screen.     - Emails not downloading This maky not be and Outlook problem, but I have tried everything else and am now clutching at straws. Have been using Outlook 2003 SP3 for a few years, have recently had the problem where my emails are not downloading from the Webmail server as it always had. My first point of call was my email provider, who have tested everything and all is fine. Contacted the ISP and they have washed there hand of it as it is an incoming email problem only and eveything internet related in working as normal. I do not get an error message - the send and receive attempts as normal but it downloads so slow that unless the emails are small (less than 20kb) they never get to me. So far I have deleted the email account and re-set it up. Run a detect and repair. I have tried downloading on another computer at a different location and had no problems.     - Text view jumps to top when composing email Outlook 2007 When I am composing an email the view often jumps to the top of the email text even though the cursor remains at the bottom. This means that if the text is very long I have to scroll down the page to continue to see what I am typing. I do not see that it is related to any particular keyboard entry.     - Category colours in outlook 2007 I have seen a lot of related threads in these discussion groups, but I cannot get my problem solved... this problem only arrises on one pc with XP Pro and Office Outlook2007 in a domain with 15 similar machines. They all are connected to Exchange. When selecting a category for an appointment in a public calender, this category is only visible on this pc. Other users just see an entry with the default color, with no category selected. However, it works well the other way around! When I type the @ symbol it changes to the quotation marks and vice
versa...what have I done and how can I change it. This happens in Outlook
