The Outlook 2007 freezes (I have to kill the process) when getting email with meeting invitation!! I need to manually remove this email message form my ISP mailbox and then re-run Outlook.     - 2 problems with IMAP/GMail I've recently tried to switch to using GMail (Google Apps) as my mail provider for IMAP support. I'm managing several different e-mail accounts on GMail using IMAP. I'm finding, however, that Outlook 2007 is not synchronizing the accounts the way it should (or at least the way I understand it should). From what I understand GMail's IMAP server subscribes you to all folders by default. Under Send/Receive options I've gone through each account and enabled downloading of complete messages including attachments. If I click on send/receive all I pop up the details window it claims to by synchronizing subscribed folders for each account. It's schedules to do this every 10 minutes whether on or offline. However, it doesn't seem to actually do anything. I've set up several links in the favourites section of the navigation panel to monitor the inbox and spam folder for each account. These should turn bold and show in parenthesis how many unread messages are waiting when new mail arrives. But this generally doesn't happen. I need to manually select each folder before it gets updated and shows me the new messages. So I can't tell at a glance what the status of all the mail accounts are... It does seem like sometimes some of the folders will get updated correctly. I think it has to do with the last folder selected or something along those lines. I had one account where the inbox was updated correctly but the spam folder appeared empty until I click on it, then magically 2 messages appeared... Am I missing something or is this just not working the way it should? The other issue I've noticed is using colours to organize the inbox of an IMAP folder doesn't seem to work. I have one account that also receives messages forwarded from another e-mail address. I set up a rule to colour messages blue if the "to" header contains the other e-mail address. This didn't work.     - Toolbar has 'turned off' Hi, I'm using Outlook 2003 and I think I have somehow turned the toolbar off. I was closing an another window and I think I might have touched the very sensitive mouse panel on the laptop and turned something off. The toolbar is unable to be selected (pale colour) and when I go to View --> Toolbars there is nothing to select (it should have a pop out arrow and more options).     - How do I stop outlook blocking links in emails? All links that are sent to me in emails are blocked. If I use the link, internet explorer fired up, but does not go to the linked website address. I can cut and paste some links, but if the link via a 'click here', then I cannot access it.     - Email stuck in outbox when sending via other programs..Word, etc. I'm using Outlook 2003 and have Gmail set as my pop 3 server. I've always been able to send emails from Word or Publisher through Outlook, without actually having Outlook open at the time. But I must have changed a setting because now the emails sit in the outbox until I open up Outlook and manually hit the 'send' button. After that all is well.     - Email attachments disappear when sent to others Whenever I send an attachment through Outlook, the recipient receives the email without the attachment. It happens to all attachments regardless of who I send it to and the format of the file (eg PDF, Word, jpg, etc).     - Outlook 2003 in Vista waiting on ext. drives before displaying mai I am running Windows Vista Ultmimate with Office 2003. I have several external hard drives for photo storage as well as system backups, etc. These drives are not referenced in outlook as far as I can determine. However, Outlook will wait for these external drives (Forever) to spin up before displaying email or accessing the POP server.     - Messages Queued For Deferred Delivery Problem I have a weird problem... Messages are piling up in my "Messages Queued for Deferred Delivery folder. I'm using Server 2003 and Exchange 2003. Most of the messages appear to be to non-existent users in two domains that I'm hosting on the server. They're coming from all over the map so I can't pinpoint any one domain or computer that's sending them. The other weird thing is that in my queue list I'm getting folders named "Default Connector - abc.com (SMTP Connector)" where abc.com are the domains to which the mail is being sent. I set the recipient filter to filter out mail for non-existent users, but it doesn't seem to be working in this case. SO hereâ??s what I did to try to correct it. 1. Opened Outlok2007 2. Clicked on the Tools menu. 3. Selected Account Settings. 4. Selected the account that had the error. I had two accounts. 5. The information in the Accounts dialog was not updated with the change I just made. After trying 3 times I finally had to delete the account and reenter all the information again.     - Connecting to Exchange without being logged into network as domain At my workplace, our company uses a Windows Server 2003 domain network, and we're going to be migrated to an Exchange 2007 server (we had a POP3/SMTP server for email until now). Local client is Outlook 2003. My problem is that, although I do have a domain user login, I never used it to log into my machine in years. I use a separate local workstation login and connect to server shares and the POP/SMTP server manually (with the domain user login and password). My machine is heavily customized (user-based), those customizations would be destroyed if I have to move to a different user profile on my machine. So I'm looking for a way to keep logging in to my machine as user "B" (not a member of the domain) while connecting to the Exchange server over the LAN as user "A". Is there any way to do that? From searching the net, I couldn't find anything. BTW: There is no IMAP functionality set up for the Exchange server (AFAIK, Exchange could do that), so I cannot use that as a workaround for mail.     - Outlook Start Menu Shortcut opens as Internet Options I'm not sure what happened, but now when I click on the Microsoft Office Outlook (Email) shortcut in the start menu, it opens up Internet Explorer options instead of MS Outlook.     - "Operation failed" when trying to save For two days I've been getting an "Operation Failed" message when trying to save mail to my usual place (not in Outlook's personal folders). I have run the Office 2007 diagnostics and no problem was reported. I tried to run "repair" Microsoft Office from the Control Panel, but got the following message: "Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\config.msi\9766d.rbf Verify that you have access to that directory" I have failed to even find that file or folder on my hard drive. I also do not know if the latter problem has anything to do with my Outlook problem. I have "repaired" Office 2007 in the past with no problem. The most recent software I have installed is Carbonite, the online storage program, and ESET NOD32 antivirus. However, they produced no immediate problem with Outlook.     - BCC field in Sent Items I'm currently using Outlook 2003 (part of an Office package) at work. For a majority of the emails I send, I can no longer view the BCC field in my Sent Items. If it's to a small list of recipients, it usually shows (although not always), but when I send mass emails (which is my job -- I send bulk email communications for my firm), the names no longer show up in the bcc field in the Sent Item. Oddly, if I do a "find" search in my Sent Items folder, I can see that a message went to someone, but when I open the message, it doesn't actually show their display name in the BCC field. This is especially problematic for the "I didn't get that message" complaints. I can't believe this is an "upgrade" from the previous version, but I've never had a problem with this in any other version we used before. Please don't answer "upgrade", as that's not an option when you work at a large firm and don't have control over which software you use. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.     - cc's not being sent to both parties A user receives e-mail for 2 parties, himself with his in-box, and for another user via a distribution group. If both he and the other user are cc'ed, his inbox does not receive the cc, but the distribution group for the other user does. Why does the user with the in-box not receive the cc???     - Outlook calendar appointments... We have outlook 2000, 2003, and some users have 2007. The ones in question here are for 2000. The organizer of a calender appointment sends out a calender appointment...the recepient can view the calendar and any/all comments or attachments included but once the recepient adds their comments etc and forwards the calendar appointment...the recepient of the forwarded calendar appointment can only see the comments etc. in the view pane.     - Resetting Outlook to a first run condition We have upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Office 2007 on all of our networked computers. If a user logs in to their system for the for the first time after the upgrade and trys to start Outlook with out first starting the Word application (as they have been directed to) Outlook will not open correctly and request information such as Exchange server name ect. (which the user does not have). The only way that I have been able to correct this issue is to rename the user's profile, and then have the user log back in and re-create their profile and start with the Word application before trying to open Outlook. Older versions of Outlook had a fix that would reset Outlook to a first run condition, and I'm wondering if there is a simular fix for Outlook 2007.
