Synching folders "is" OL sending/receiving. Why this has only just appeared
I cannot answer.
On installation, by default OL is set to poll for mail, every 5 mins, and to
send/receive on opening - unless you have modified the settings.
If you have AV software intergrated with OL this can also cause problems.
