Thank you both for your kind answer. I am aware of the issues which may
arise upon updating to a newer version of Outlook as well as of those
related to a mix of client-side and server-side rules. However, neither is
applicable in my case. I have a clean installation of Office 2007 on a clean
installation of Vista, both about a year old now. The PC is a standalone, no
servers are accessed, and the same of course applies to Outlook. The only
changes done to the system recently (when the rule problems started) have
been the regular Microsoft updates including the Vista SP1.
