    - Keep Outlook settings when Attaching Word or Excel Document How do I keep my Auto Signature, Sent and delivered receipts setting on. I constanly send out email, via outlook with attachements from Word and Excel. I usually go to the menu of Word or Excel, and use the Send to option. Outlook opens up, with the document I have open in Word or Excel, but my Signature, and my Sent and Delevered message options are not active.     - Outlook calendar appointments... We have outlook 2000, 2003, and some users have 2007. The ones in question here are for 2000. The organizer of a calender appointment sends out a calender appointment...the recepient can view the calendar and any/all comments or attachments included but once the recepient adds their comments etc and forwards the calendar appointment...the recepient of the forwarded calendar appointment can only see the comments etc. in the view pane. If, they open the appointment there are no comments etc. seen in the message area. Is this some setting I'm overseeing ? Can someone please advise how to fix ?     - Resetting Outlook to a first run condition We have upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Office 2007 on all of our networked computers. If a user logs in to their system for the for the first time after the upgrade and trys to start Outlook with out first starting the Word application (as they have been directed to) Outlook will not open correctly and request information such as Exchange server name ect. (which the user does not have). The only way that I have been able to correct this issue is to rename the user's profile, and then have the user log back in and re-create their profile and start with the Word application before trying to open Outlook. Older versions of Outlook had a fix that would reset Outlook to a first run condition, and I'm wondering if there is a simular fix for Outlook 2007.     - Crash on "searching" in Outlook 2007 hi all, I have couple users have the same problems. When they tried to use the find feature in Outlook to search for some emails, it crashed.     - Importing txt file to Outlook - mapping custom fields fails Outlook 2007/Excel 2007/Access 2007 Hello, I have vacations requested stored in Access 2007. I'd like to export these to an Outlook 2007 calendar. I've tried the following procedures: 1) Export from Access to Excel in Excel 2003 format. 2) Converted Excel 2003 format to text, tab delimited. When I tried to import either of these formats I run into the same problem. When I get to the custom-map-fields dialog of the import wizard, I never get the option to click OK. I have only three fields: Name, Date, and Type of Leave. I drag the fields into the following Outlook fields: Name=Subject Date=All Day Event Type of Leave=Location However only the active buttons are Next, Previous, and Cancel. I tried renaming the Excel fields to correspond to the Outlook field names so I won't have to custom map, but nothing gets imported. What may I be doing wrong? Thanks.     - Outlook 2007 will not start I have a fairly new computer, 2 Gig RAM, dual processor Vista Business, all updates Office Ultimatum 2007, all updates, SP1 I tried to import data from a pst. Outlook frozed. Used Task Manager to stop it. Outlook will not open. I used scanpst multiple times. I tried a new profile. I tried to remove Office 2007 and could not. I used the MS KB to manually delete office. I deleted all existing pst from my computer. I reinstalled Office 2007. All functions of Office 2007 work EXCEPT Outlook. I can open Outlook in Safe Mode, but I cannot open it normally. It is "hung up" on the set up screen right after I told it no to using it for email.     - Help please!! copying e-mails into a new computer including the date field.. Hi all, hopefully someone here can tell me if this is possible as I haven't been able to find a way to do this. the story goes, I bought a new computer, loaded my office suite (2003 pro) onto it and proceeded to load the address book files I'd copied (.csv files) into outlook by importing them. Come to find out after importing them the date field isn't included with all the imported/saved e-mails. The column is there but instead of a date it reads "None". I also pulled the hard drive from the old machine & pulgged it into the new machine as a backup & so i could transfer all my other files/folders w/o hassle. since I've pulled it out of the old machine I assume I'd have to make it the primary drive again to get Outlook to access it again & display all the old e-mails which perhaps I could copy over in some other method then the one I used. I cant be the only guy who's had this problem. I don't pretend to be any kind of a computer geek either, I've reached my limit of what to do 8o . I'm hoping this is a result of my screwing it up, not that Outlook isn't capable of doing this.     - Exchange server prompts re-authentication for shared calendar. I have a problem where Useres who are accesing my Exchange server are require to input authentication info when they attempt to view someone esles calendar. I have all the permissions configured as reviewer. This seems to happen only in Outlook 2003 and happens to some people and does not happen to other people. I have yet to figure out what the people who have the problem have in common. If the usere clicks cancel, the shared calendar comes up no problem and they are not prompted for another login for the rest of the Outlook session.     - OL not updating NK2 file on exit - loses AutoComplete email addresses Hi all, I have the latest Outlook 2007 but for a month have noted that it no longer saves changes to the AutoComplete email addresses that are held in the My Profile.nk2 file. I believe this is because OL is not shutting down properly, however I have closed all other tasks/services that could be using it. If I Ctrl+Alt+Del to kill outlook.exe, then it does not save to NK2, yet there is no other way to close OL. At least I think that's the reason NK2 is not updating. I did some experiments and did get Outlook to close by itself, and it DID save NK2 changes that one time, but it has not been able to close by itself since.     - Autocompleted Email Addresses Email addresses automatically complete when typing the 1st letter(s) in the "to", or "cc" fields of an Outlook email message. That's great. But why do the autocomplete entries resemble those from other people's address books instead of mine? For instance, the first time I send an email it is to "Firstname Lastname (email@company.com)", so I can see their full name, in addition to their email address. That works fine until I receive an email from somebody else who cc's that same person but doesn't have as clean of a definition for their name. Once I click "reply-to-all", Outlooks decides to redefine my autocomplete for that contact. So now I have the truncated email@company.com, which might not have any relationship to the person's name. How can I prevent Outlook from replacing my definition of a contact in the autocomplete function with other users' cc definitions? Thanks! My inbox is split into folders and when I send an email I file it into the correct folder.     - Name change - user got married Hi, we are running Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003. One of my users got married and changed her name. I have renamed her account in AD and her Exchange mailbox now displays the new name correctly. However, her Outlook client still shows her maiden name at the top of the tree next to "Mailbox".     - Work online and offline Hi, brand new Vista PC (months old) with Office 2007 basic. One exchange server problem and the Outlook goes off-line. Not normally a problem, except this time the Work online option is missing from the file menu in Outlook. It was able to send e-mails but not receive them. Set up a new profile would not work - Outlook had become so confused it couldn't recognise the change. There are two issues - Why is the software so flaky and more importantly, how do I get the work offline/online option back on the file menu? (It's there on other PCs, just not this one). The offline icon in the taskbar didn't offer any options nor did the little message on the bottom RH of Outlook saying it was off-line. Obviously a Vista/Outlook2007 corruption I know. Thank god for rebooting, that got Outlook to come back up online. There is no cached mode set (I find that causes probs all of its own and can slow things down enormously for large pst files). So, to get to the point, does anyone know how to re-instate the "work online/offline" option in Outlook? Sorry to moan so much about Vista, but the more I see it the less I like it.     - Problem w/opening links when 1 window in Explorer already opened I have an internet connection but when the internet explorer is running, I cannot open the links from my e-mails in Outlook. When I click on the link, it takes me to the open window in the explorer and the 2nd window is trying to open (says Connecting) but never opens. One of my costumers has AutoArchiving configured, but once it runs it only replicates the Folder-structure. There is not 1 email it will archive. When I open up my contacts in Outlook there is a row just beneath the fields line that says "click here to add a new contact". I find this very disturbing and would like to remove it. Can someone please tell me how to do this. I have racked my brain and cannot figure it out. Thanks in advance for the help.

There's no no way to do that. Describing as "disturbing" a line that
appears in all tables in Outlook...??? Maybe that attitude is something you
can change or else just ignore it. It does no harm and many people even use
it.

Right click on it-> Other Settings-> deselect; Show "new item" row
