    - Inbox Repair Tool - need help using Hi. I recieved at prompt to run the Inbox Repair Tool when Outlook 2007 would not open. When I try to browse to fill in the box "Enter the name of the file you want to scan", I don't know what to select or type, and I can't complete the repair.     - Why is Outlook 2007 much slower than Outlook 2003 Its very difficult to support a company when all the employees do not like the office suite. People are asking all the time why is office 2007 slower? I have to grasp for an anser saying something about more features, but alas they aren't satisfied. Sure they have large pst and sure they check 3 different calendars. But no bad pluggins at all. Does anyone have a good answer for when the executive secretary is complaining because her outlook is so much slower than 2003. She shouldn't have to change her work habbits like checking one calendar at a time or delete all here emails. She didn't have to before.     - Outlook 2003-2007 with Exchange 2007 simple macro creation help? I'd like to make a macro that i could install on any 2003 or 2007 outlook client that would work with exchange 2007.. The macro is pretty simple.. but i dont know the syntax of how to do this.. at least making sure it happens in this manner.. Ordinarily with our sonicwall antispam system.. if a user gets a spam message in their inbox.. they right click them and do a forward (so the original email with headers is attached) and forward to the appropriate email address... I'd like to make this happen via a macro button.. and the button must support the ability to highlight multiple spam emails.. click the button and instantly those are forwarded along (and then automatically deleted or moved to the deleted items section)..     - Outlook 2007 still downloads emails when Outlook is closed I can not find a reason why this is doing this. i close outlook using the close X button in the upper right corner or by going to File--Exit. But Outlook continues to download and notify me of emails even though the program is closed. When i open task manager Outlook is still running. Thus why its downloading emails. BUT why is outlook still running even though i have closed it. Very strange for me as i have never seen outlook do that before. I am using active sync for my phone but sync isnt active unless the phone is plugged in, which it rarely is. could this be why its doing this ? I have to use Task Manager and use 'end task' on outlook for it to stop downloading emails. can someone please help me here, i have checked thru ALL options in outlook and there is nothing about "continue to work when program is closed" or something like that.     - HTML forms in Outlook 2007 Hi, I am trying to insert html code into Outlook 2007 so that I can send out an email survey (a html form). I have done this successfully with 2003 but with 2007, firstly I can't seem to insert the code into an email so that it looks like a form and secondly if I send my survey from an email client with 2003 to a client with 2007, the formatting is lost upon arrival, therefore the form cannot be filled out and no data collected.     - Outlook 2007 Send Email takes 5 minutes Using latest Office 2007 Enterprise with Outlook BCM on high end stand alone loptop... Office 2007 is pretty buggy. In Outlook, when I reply and write a new email, when I click send (which movies it to the outbox), sometimes it is instant (the way it should be) and sometimes it takes 5 minutes for the email screen to disappear (you cannot do anything with the computer during this time, but is does ultimately put the email in the out box and is sent appropirately).     - HTML Messages - Blank printout and preview Hi, For an unknown reason, I now get a blank screen or printout when I preview or print a HTML message. This is not the case for "Plain Text" messages. Steps taken so far: - Reset IE7 to its default installation configuration - Insure that all 4 Page margins are set to .75 inches The reason I have looked into IE7 setttings is that the same problem occurs when I try to print Web pages. I may be wrong but I also believe that Outlook is using IE7 settings when it comes to print HTML code. Note: Administrator's profile on the same PC is not affected by this problem.     - Update worth it for me? I have OfficeXP (2002?) installed and most of it - word,excel,powerpoint do what I want. However I see that most of the references to Outlook refer to 2003 or 2007 versions. As a home user dealing with <10 emails a day and most of the spam labelled by my isp (and easy to filter) is there anything that later version of Outlook do that would make it worth the expense of upgrading?     - Pasting a word coument into outlook gives extra lineshift Hi guys, This seems to be an oldie but I havent really found a satisfied solution to this phenomena so I am trying again. When I paste from Word into Outlook I get double line shifts, I am not using word as the default editor. I am using HTML format as standard in the mail editor. I also see that when I start a new mail the Format->Style is set to Normal. After pasting the word text its automaticly set to "Paragraph" (I am norwegian and using the norwegian version so I am not sure what it sais in English but its the last option, buttom selection, on the Style list) What is funny though is that a friend is doing the same thing and he in his Outlook he does not get double line shift. He maintain the formatting from the word. We have compared the settings in Outlook but have not found any differencies. Anyone here know a good permanent solution ? I know I can copy the text through notepad to get rid of the formatting and I know I can change to rich text or text instead of HTML but that is not satisfacory for me.     - Outlook stripping plain text from mixed RTF/plain email One of our friends received a RTF format email, which he then forwarded to me, adding a comment to the top of the forwarded email, in the body. When I received the email, his comments were missing - just the RTF body of the forwarded email. When I checked the same email on my web mail, his comments were there - so it looks like Outlook has removed his text. His emails usually come through as plain text, so I'm assuming that the top part was plain text, then switched to RTF, which confused Outlook. I'm running Outlook 2003 Any thoughts?     - Outlook 2007 Activation I installed a legal version of Outlook 2007 and afterward it asked me if I wanted to activate the product by internet or phone.     - HELP - Outlook Unresponsive and taking 52% CPU I just started experiencing a killer problem. I am running Outlook 2007 with Vista. Have had it for over a year. (BTW, I'm very technical. Honestly.) All was fine till March 27th. I had a problem with web browser connections (Outlook was able to connect fine though.) I took the opportunity to do a backup of my important items (docs, pics, mail). After the restart Outlook will eventually take up about 52% of CPU (not hogging one of 2 cores, just taking about 52%). Restarting Outlook means killing it in the Task Manager. I saw a brief message from Outlook saying something about Salesforce. Now it is no longer starting the salesforce add-in. But still is only quasi-responsive. It will let me shut it down from the task-manager, and task-manager reports it as 'running'. Before it gets up to 52% it is more responsive - that is I can still switch to the Outlook task. After it hits 52% point, I can't switch to it with the task manager, taskbar, or alt-tab. It will not draw itself on the screen. Cursor will not appear when over Outlook app on screen. Nothing I have done so far will make Outlook responsive. I let it run overnight. Came back to see 52% CPU and still unresponsive. Restart machine. Restart Outlook. On restart of Outlook it acts properly at first but then goes out to lunch. It prompts me to login to the old Exchange server but I normally just cancel that and have a different mailbox as my primary. This is the only part of Outlook that is responsive. If I give it a password (just to see what will happen) Outlook pops to 98% of CPU until it finishes attempting to login then returns to 52% and asks for new credentials. Credentials pop-up dialog is fully responsive, but Outlook is not. HELP! I saw another post from a similar user who seems to use BCM. I have BCM (bundled install) and I've played with it a bit, but I don't really use it, though it is present. On one shutdown Outlook recognized that I had messages in the outbox, displayed the dialog (do you really want to exit) but then would not respond to my click. I had to kill it again. I was all non-exchange until July 2007. Added an Exchange server and mailbox. I left the exchange server in January. Still have the post office and the exchange connection. I only left it around so I could get to the email. All was fine. I also had the Salesforce plug-in for Outlook. It's been active but I have not been using it. I planned to start using it again soon with a new Salesforce account. As for possible complications, I updated the Google Pack elements Skype and Picasa around the same time but I'm pretty sure they are unrelated. I closed down Skype and problem stays the same.     - Outlook 2007 will not open at all Just over a week ago Outlook stopped working completely on my laptop, if I try to load I get box which states Outlook has encountered a problem & needs to close ... Option to restart and send error report. Whichever options I take it still won't open not even in safe mode! I have run a diagnostic check and this has not revealed any errors and I'm at a loss as to what else I can do other than uninstall and reinstall!     - Error Importing Contacts This is the same problem others seem to be experiencing however I am not sure if it is the same solution. I have been trying to transfer my contacts from Outlook 2003 to a computer with Outlook from 2002. I created the .pst data file in 97-2002 format as previously described in another post. When I open the file in OL02 it will load the contacts. However, when OL is closed and later reopened, I experience the error that a program is trying to access my e-mail addresses. I am unable to click anything and shortly after OL will just close. If I go in and delete the .pst file I can then open OL successfully, but without my needed contacts. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated.     - Not receiving messages Iâ??m using Outlook 07, my incoming mail is maintained by a hosting company, and my outgoing mail is controlled by my cable company which I am forced to use. Many times when I send mail it can take hours to reach its destination, sometimes never at all. The same for mail sent to me. Sometimes there are attachments up to 4Mb; however often the attachments go through other times nothing. I have a distribution group of 15 people, using outlook I put the distribution group in the bcc address, about half the people get the message. Yet sending to the group individually all receive the message. When I called the cable company, they pointed the finger at my incoming mail provider and Outlook. When I called my incoming mail provider, yep, the same finger pointing. Is there any way to trace this problem? Also does Outlook stop or block large attachments incoming or out going?     - Outlook 2003 SP3 running on Vista Bus. Hangs every couple of minutes Seems to load fine then it tries to sync to the exchange server and hangs for a couple of minutes. After that it comes back to life for a little bit until it repeats the cycle. The cycles are about 8-10 minutes apart. I had my Outlook reading panel set to the right in my reading pane. I still
have it set that way, however it isn't showing up that way. I've reset my
settings, turned off the computer, reset the reading pane to the right, it's
still not there. How do I fix this?
