    - Missing msvcr71.dll I'm running WIN XP and Office 2003. I was trying to install Outlook Busness Contact Manager and after it was installed when I opened Outlook it told me there was an error and it would need to close. After several tries I uninstalled OBCM. I then put in the Outlook Small Business Ed 2003 CD and clicked on repair Outlook 2003. When it got finished it said it did not complete the installation. When I opened Outlook I got an error that said "This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". I tried re-installing Outlook and the error continues. Outlook appears to run just fine after I click OK on the error message. How do I get rid of this error?     - Printing a draft with addressees I use MS-Word as my email editor and after typing an email and inserting the addressees email addresses also have saved it as a draft. Now I want to print a copy of the same for approval from my senior but unfortunately what I get is a totally simple word type of document not one in the memo form as of received or sent email.     - Outlook + Secure Email Certificates = FAIL Hey Everyone, Firstly I like to think I know what i'm doing when it comes to outlook and computing in general but this problem's really got me stumpted. Not to mention when I try to ask someone at microsoft they won't let me since my corporate key is apparently "non-genuine" but anyways. The issue is, when the end user (who has a valid, signed, certificate issued by verisign) double clicks on an encrypted email is prompts him for a password. He types it in and all is well. But when he double clicks on another encrypted email, it doesn't prompt him for a password. He wants it to prompt him everytime and I just can't figure out how to do it. The security setting on the certificate is set to HIGH so it should prompt him everytime its used. The main thing here is he wants it to prompt him everytime. Any thoughts?     - wowway e-mail account added to Outlook 2003, but no mail received I added my wowway e-mail account to Outlook 2003. I entered all the correct pop3 server information, as provided by wow. I ran the test and all checked out. I can send from that account in Outlook, but no messages show up in the inbox. I have to go online to wowway to view my messages.     - what is a "personal folders password" for outlook2 ? I needed help with a problem with my outlook. It worked fine for a while and now when I try to open it a message comes up that says it needs to start in " safe mode". I then start it in safe mode and a prompt comes up that says " Personal Folder Password" and then asks me to "type password for Outlook2".     - Outlook 2007 not connecting to the internet I am running Outlook 2007 on Vista. It is set up as my default email program. When I review my email profile settings from the control panel and send a test message it sends just fine, and appears on my Blackberry so I know it's working. However, I can't send or receive from Outlook 2007. It times out in trying to connect to the server. I tried clicking on the "search the web" icon from outlook and it tells me that I'm not connected to the internet, even though I can access the internet when I open my browser from the desktop. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2007 and that didn't help. I ran the Office Diagnostics with no errors found.     - Calendar causes Outlook to Hang I am a new user to Microsoft Outlook 2007. It has been installed for three days during which time I have been using each of the email, calendar, contact and to do list functions without incident. This afternoon I was in the email part of the system when I decided to look at my calendar. I pressed the Calendar tab in the bottom left corner of the screen. Instead of replacing the emial highlighting, IN ADDITION the Calendar tab was highlighted as well as the email tab. I got the system not responding message. The system tried to send an error report to Microsoft, but that also hung up after a few minutes. I used the Task manager to exit which also hung up. Eventually using task manager I could close down each program running individually each time getting system could not close down on each program individually including non Outlook programs before finally exiting. I rebooted, repeated the process with exactly the same results. Each time the Calendar button is pressed, Outlook stops working at all,hangs and is very difficult to exit from even using Task Manager.Switching between Email, todo and contacts works fine. Moving from any of these three into Caledar causes the same effect desribed above leaving two keys highlighted and a hanging Outlook. Other programs continue fine. I am a new Outlook user (previously Eudora email and Lotus Organiser 6 contact) , calendar and to do list. I have not imported data from either system yet. I am running a Dell with a Local partitioned disk TOSHIBA MK1252GSX . I have plenty of capactity using Antivir virus protection and Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack: 2.0 with Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz Version: x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13 Speed: 1994 MHz Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz Version: x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13 Speed: 1995 MHz System Model: Latitude D630 BIOS Version: Dell Inc.     - Signature and default font color Upgraded to OUtlook 2007 last week. Using a signature in emails that uses both blue and black font colors.     - Spell check not working in Outlook 2007 We are migrating to Office 2007. We have approx. 600 users on Office 2007. We are using Windows XP SP2, Office 2007 with Exchange 2003 SP2. Several users have called in reporting that spell check is not working. Words are misspelled, will do a spell check, and the spell check does not find them. Another user performs a spell check and when they right click on the misspelled word, words appear but they are grayed out so the user cannot select the correct spelling of the word. I have looked for the Override folder in the registry, but this does not exist. I have checked all settings. This is sporadic and not happening to all users. We have uninstalled and resinstalled Office 2007, created a new Outlook profile, ran an Office Diagnostics, nothing seems to fix this issue.     - Autocompletion Annoyance This may seem trivial, but it is somewhat annoying so I wanted to see if anyone had a solution or whether I just had to "deal" with it.... When I go to type someone's name in the "To:" field of an email the normal autocompletion list populates, however, although the person I write the emails to the most is at the top of that list, it highlights a different name so I have to scroll to the top of the list to select the person I email the most. Why does it not start with the top of the list. It just started doing this for some reason. The only thing I can think of is that the person at the top of the list is in my contacts folder while the one automatically highlighted before I have to scroll back up is in the GAL. Any clues???     - opening attachments I have outlook 2007 and received an attach. in wordpad which when i double clicked to open said it was not supported so silly me chose notepad hoping maybe i could read the file.     - Sig when reply to RTF When replying to RTF messages, my Signature font increases from 8 or 9 to 12 or 14 pts. When replying to HTML messages, the font is fine.     - Using Gmail in my Outlook Hi, I am Diala. I am using Gmail in Microsoft Outlook 2003. Everytime I send an email and copy myself, all recipients receive my email except me. But if I open my gmail account from the explorer I find the email sent from Me to Me. The only way I can get this email in my Outlook Inbox is to go to "gmail settings" from the explorer and "Enable POP for all mail" which means I'll receive a copy of all emails again inluding the OLD ones (which are already in my outlook inbox).     - international sms with outlook I am using Outlook and the add-on sms module for OutLook from MicroSoft. I can send an international sms from my cell with no problem. Using the same number, wehn trying to send through this new SMS add-on module, I keep on getting an error stating that the number is incorrect.     - Outlook 2003 OLE forms error Due to a corrupted local profile I had to remove/delete and reset a local profile on one of our computers. We have a special message form that we use for outgoing mail. Prior to resetting the profile the form worked correctly. Since resetting the profile after publishing the form to the Inbox when the user tries to access the form he receives the following message. "The form you selected could not be displayed. An error occurred registering the form in the OLE registry." I have deleted the form through the forms manager, cleared the cache and republished the form with the same results.     - There appears to be a navigation error in Windows Live Mail Used this category because "Windwos Live Mail" isn't a selection option...neither is "Other". I am using Windows Live Mail with my XP operating system...all service packs are current. Windows Live Mail appears to have a navigation error. If I enter my email contacts, forget to enter a Subject, then type in my email and hit "Send" I get the message that I didn't include a Subject, do I want to continue? If I select Cancel I am returned to the email....but I cannot enter a Subject. I can place the cursor in the Subject line and type, but the typing goes into the email at the point where my cursor last was. (sorry about the grammar) Regardless of what I try I cannot enter data into the Subject line. I can send the email, it just won't have a Subject.     - Unable to right click in the Inbox Hi All, I have a user who is unable to right click within his Inbox. We are running Outlook 2003 in an XP environment. Whenever the user right clicks in the email nothing happens however he can right click in his folder list and within the email.     - Email Contents Disappear After receiving an email in Outlook 2002 and viewing the email, I move onto the next email and later go back to the first email, the contents are gone. Even the size of the email has been reduced to 2 or 3 kbytes. This only seems to happen with certain senders. The only way I know of to get the content is to check my email from the webmail of my provider. Then cut and past to a document. Is there a setting that is causing the email contents to disappear? AT&T Tier 2 tech support says it is an MS Windows or Outlook software issue.
This is happening on an HP/Compaq Presario desktop model SR2150NX, with
1.75 GB ram, running Vista Home Basic.
Could somebody please help?

Many possibilities; have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514

Best bet is that firewall is preventing the connection, or AV
integration interferes with Outlook.
