    - Outlook 2000 blank email content I have a user sometimes receiving email with blank content while while other in the same company with Outlook 2000 also have no problem seeing the content of the same email. I checked the anti virus (Symantec 10.1 corporate) and no activie noted. I also checked fro possible rich text problem and the user has no problem with rich text email with formatted font.     - Rules work on and off Outlook 2007 on Vista 32-bit Ultimate. As of recently, the rules I've used for ages suddenly started behaving erratically. Sometimes they run, sometimes they run only partly "missing" a few mails, even though they satisfy the rule conditions. If I then run the rules manually, the remaining mails are processed correctly. It will open successfully in "safemode" however when trying to launch regular, it doesn't even show up in task manager ( does show as a queued 'process') however I do get an Outlook "Splash Screen" as if it is loading. * I noticed also that CPU usage jumps to a constant 56% and only drops back down when I terminate the OUTLOOK.EXE process.     - Outlook mail delivery / 2 accounts Helo Everyone, I have a computer with outlook 2003 and 2 email accounts, 1 is a exchange account and the other is a POP account. The problem is that all mail is delivered to one account or the other. I have tried to go into control panel...mail ...email accounts and at the bottom part of the screen it says "Deliver new mail to this location" and you can select the exchange mailbox or the personal folder, but when i switch one of the it switchs the other. So if i select the exchange folder then all mail from the pop account and exchange is delivered to the exchange account. What i want is for POP mail to be delivered to the personal folders and the exchange mail to be delivered to the exchange mailbox.     - Inability to archive Outlook 2003 data My archive data has been set to archive on an external drive. I have had no problems until recently when archiving begins and is almost 80% complete. It stops tells me that I have an "I/O" error. I thought that I would clean up the external drive by re-formatting that drive to solve the problem. Prior to re-formatting I was going to copy the data including archive.pst on another drive. I found that when I was copying archive.pst the same problem as the above occurred. I don't want to lose my already "archived" data. Question how do I save my archived data and continue to be able to archive it? What is the fix please?     - "Unread Mail" search folder possible in Outlook XP? In Outlook 2003 (which I use at work) there is a search folder called "Unread Mail" that shows all unread mail no matter what folder it is put in by rules. I use Outlook XP (at home) and have rules that sort mail as it comes in however it is hard to tell how much new mail has come in. Is there a way to create something that functions as a Search Folder (maybe using a rule another folder) in Outlook XP? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.     - Calender appts with additional "cushion" of time Outlook 2003: I would like to schedule an appointment at, say 10:00, but also have the calendar include an hour of "travel time" before it and after it that everyone else would see as "not schedulable". I always have to put in little "fake" additional appointments around the real appointment to accomplish this (or a second big appointment). I would rather have the single appointment say "10:00" if that is the time of the appointment but have a cushion extension that I control that would be part of the one entry, and not have all the additional clutter. In the same light, if someone else schedules a meeting, I might like to have a "cushion" of 15 minutes around that meeting to prevent someone from scheduling another meeting right up against the first, to ensure that I can make it around the office on time, have time to check phonemail, etc. Again, I'd rather not edit every single appointment (which changes the time of the actual appointment!) or have to add "fake" appointments around everything to accomplish this.     - Outlook 2003 Signature Spell Check So, I have rolled out a new signature block to the users in our company using a VBscript. However, now that the signature has been rolled out, some users are reporting that Outlook now spell checks their signature block. This is a problem since they have their e-mail addresses in their signature block, along with some uncapitalized proper nouns that are there for visual appeal. In the script I specified objSelection.NoProofing = True for the signature text. When I open a new message in Outlook with Word as the editor I can see that the NoProofing is set on that text, and it spell checks the message properly, but our HTML stationery doesn't show up properly. When I open the message with the Outlook editor, the HTML shows up properly but it spell checks the signature block. Not on every user, just on about 20% of them. I know that we can just add the misspelled words in the signature block to the dictionary, but that doesn't really solve the problem. Is there a registry setting that I am missing? I just migrated my users to OL2003 and Exchange 2003 last week, and I have a user with about 2k emails in his inbox stating that not all of his emails are showing the reply/forward icons. Some are, however. BUT, if you go into the email you do get the banner at the top mentioning it had been replied to or forwarded. We are using Outlook in cached mode. So I thought to delete the .ost file and re-sync his emails.. this however did not cure the problem. Has anyone got any suggestions?     - Why is Outlook 2007 much slower than Outlook 2003 Its very difficult to support a company when all the employees do not like the office suite. People are asking all the time why is office 2007 slower? I have to grasp for an anser saying something about more features, but alas they aren't satisfied. Sure they have large pst and sure they check 3 different calendars. But no bad pluggins at all.     - Outlook 2007 still downloads emails when Outlook is closed I can not find a reason why this is doing this. i close outlook using the close X button in the upper right corner or by going to File--Exit. But Outlook continues to download and notify me of emails even though the program is closed. When i open task manager Outlook is still running. Thus why its downloading emails. BUT why is outlook still running even though i have closed it. Very strange for me as i have never seen outlook do that before.     - Outlook 2007 Send Email takes 5 minutes Using latest Office 2007 Enterprise with Outlook BCM on high end stand alone loptop... Office 2007 is pretty buggy. In Outlook, when I reply and write a new email, when I click send (which movies it to the outbox), sometimes it is instant (the way it should be) and sometimes it takes 5 minutes for the email screen to disappear (you cannot do anything with the computer during this time, but is does ultimately put the email in the out box and is sent appropirately). I have notice the same problem with Adobe professional, sending a email PDF (still ultimatly puts it in the outbox and is sent fine). Any suggestions?     - HTML Messages - Blank printout and preview Hi, For an unknown reason, I now get a blank screen or printout when I preview or print a HTML message. This is not the case for "Plain Text" messages. Steps taken so far: - Reset IE7 to its default installation configuration - Insure that all 4 Page margins are set to .75 inches The reason I have looked into IE7 setttings is that the same problem occurs when I try to print Web pages.     - Update worth it for me? I have OfficeXP (2002?) installed and most of it - word,excel,powerpoint do what I want. However I see that most of the references to Outlook refer to 2003 or 2007 versions. As a home user dealing with <10 emails a day and most of the spam labelled by my isp (and easy to filter) is there anything that later version of Outlook do that would make it worth the expense of upgrading?     - Pasting a word coument into outlook gives extra lineshift Hi guys, This seems to be an oldie but I havent really found a satisfied solution to this phenomena so I am trying again. When I paste from Word into Outlook I get double line shifts, I am not using word as the default editor. I am using HTML format as standard in the mail editor. I also see that when I start a new mail the Format->Style is set to Normal. After pasting the word text its automaticly set to "Paragraph" (I am norwegian and using the norwegian version so I am not sure what it sais in English but its the last option, buttom selection, on the Style list) What is funny though is that a friend is doing the same thing and he in his Outlook he does not get double line shift. He maintain the formatting from the word. We have compared the settings in Outlook but have not found any differencies. Anyone here know a good permanent solution ? I know I can copy the text through notepad to get rid of the formatting and I know I can change to rich text or text instead of HTML but that is not satisfacory for me.     - Outlook stripping plain text from mixed RTF/plain email One of our friends received a RTF format email, which he then forwarded to me, adding a comment to the top of the forwarded email, in the body. When I received the email, his comments were missing - just the RTF body of the forwarded email. When I checked the same email on my web mail, his comments were there - so it looks like Outlook has removed his text.     - HELP - Outlook Unresponsive and taking 52% CPU I just started experiencing a killer problem. I am running Outlook 2007 with Vista. Have had it for over a year. (BTW, I'm very technical. I took the opportunity to do a backup of my important items (docs, pics, mail). After the restart Outlook will eventually take up about 52% of CPU (not hogging one of 2 cores, just taking about 52%). Restarting Outlook means killing it in the Task Manager. I saw a brief message from Outlook saying something about Salesforce. Now it is no longer starting the salesforce add-in. But still is only quasi-responsive. It will let me shut it down from the task-manager, and task-manager reports it as 'running'. Before it gets up to 52% it is more responsive - that is I can still switch to the Outlook task. After it hits 52% point, I can't switch to it with the task manager, taskbar, or alt-tab. It will not draw itself on the screen. Cursor will not appear when over Outlook app on screen. Nothing I have done so far will make Outlook responsive. I let it run overnight. Came back to see 52% CPU and still unresponsive. Restart machine. Restart Outlook. On restart of Outlook it acts properly at first but then goes out to lunch. It prompts me to login to the old Exchange server but I normally just cancel that and have a different mailbox as my primary. This is the only part of Outlook that is responsive. If I give it a password (just to see what will happen) Outlook pops to 98% of CPU until it finishes attempting to login then returns to 52% and asks for new credentials. Credentials pop-up dialog is fully responsive, but Outlook is not. HELP! I saw another post from a similar user who seems to use BCM. I have BCM (bundled install) and I've played with it a bit, but I don't really use it, though it is present. On one shutdown Outlook recognized that I had messages in the outbox, displayed the dialog (do you really want to exit) but then would not respond to my click. I had to kill it again. I was all non-exchange until July 2007. Added an Exchange server and mailbox. I left the exchange server in January. Still have the post office and the exchange connection. I only left it around so I could get to the email. All was fine. I also had the Salesforce plug-in for Outlook. It's been active but I have not been using it. I planned to start using it again soon with a new Salesforce account. As for possible complications, I updated the Google Pack elements Skype and Picasa around the same time but I'm pretty sure they are unrelated. I closed down Skype and problem stays the same.     - Outlook 2007 will not open at all Just over a week ago Outlook stopped working completely on my laptop, if I try to load I get box which states Outlook has encountered a problem & needs to close ... Option to restart and send error report. Whichever options I take it still won't open not even in safe mode! I have run a diagnostic check and this has not revealed any errors and I'm at a loss as to what else I can do other than uninstall and reinstall! My concern is that if I do this then the problem won't actually go away! Has anybody got any advice to offer please? I've set Firefox up as my default browser. When I click on a URL in an
email, I get an error box that says "General Failure" then lists the
URL and says the system cannot find the file specified. Then Firefox
opens to the correct web location.

This doesn't happen with IE7. Anyone seen this?

Yes, this happens with Firefox. I'm hoping Firefox 3 due out any day now
takes care of this. You can associate url files with Firefox, but this can
cause other problems with shortcuts.
