    - rules and alerts "One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and have been deactivatd. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported or there is inssufficient space to store all of your rules." Above is the error message I get when I tried to save all the rules. I have done everything according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886616. I have tried deleting all the rules in client side and server side. It seemed ok at first, but after I close and reopen the outlook 2003 again, all the rules would be there, no rules seemed to be deleted. What should I do in order all the rules can be deleted?     - VBA Forms - how open and close????? It defies my how the most simple action is not documented anywhere ( that I can find) I'm running Win XP, Outlook 2000 I have created a VBA form in the VB Editor, added some text boxes with vb code behind them. I can click on the Run Macro button to display this form in preview mode and I can enter data and my code works...great.     - Calendar not migrating properly from different computer I am moving my outlook data from a laptop on a corporate environment using an Exchange server. I always had my data available off-line in an .ost file, which was synched up regularly. I managed to find an ost2pst.exe to run because Outlook 2007 does not seem to have a way to upload an .ost file directly It worked pretty well for the most part. With one major exception: NONE OF MY CALENDAR INFORMATION SHOWED UP! Any ideas what I can do? I assume that the calendar information is in the .ost file. I used the ost2pst converter from here: http://www.xcopy32.com/details.php?file=24 Perhaps it has some bugs? Is tehre a way to get the .ost file to load directly into 2007 Outlook?     - Problem in Merging Infopath forms In my infopath email forms, i've couple of fields which are multi-line text fields. I've infopath folder setup in outlook to keep all the infopath forms assembled in that folder. Now when i try to use Merge Form function in outlook 2007, it merges the forms into one form, but DOES NOT merge that multi-line text fields and leave them empty. BTW one of the text field is part of repeating block as well. I've no clue how to merge the complete form. Please help me get the solution. Thanks.     - Outlook remains disconnected..."magically" reconnects later Greetings, I am probably hoping against all hopes that someone out here has experienced an issue that I'm struggling with at my job. We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP2 clients (plus latest security patches). The problem is with a number of users who roam around one of our offices for meetings using wireless connections. At some point, the users lose connectivity with Exchange. When returning to their desk, they remain disconnected from Exchange while Internet and local network access functions normally. No matter what they do they cannot re-establish a connection with Exchange...even after rebooting the device. This happens if they continue to use a wireless connection or switch to a wired connection...doesn't matter. When attempting to use the Send/Receive button, Outlook generates an error code, 0x8004011D. After an hour or so of just waiting around, the connection to Exchange is "magically" restored. We have checked for the possibility that Exchange is hitting the 32 MAPI connection limit and won't let any more but while analyzing a user in the disconnected state, it did not appear that this was the case. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on and what we might be able to do to at least force Outlook to reconnect with Exchange so that the users don't have to wait?     - Update for Microsoft Outlook Junk Email Filter 2003 (KB949044) I am not sure if this is a Office or Windows problem. My XP system is running on Office2003 had been trying to do this update for the last month or so. It kept updating- something it says the update is installed, other times it says there is an error.     - Using the same .pst on two computers I use Outlook 2002 at home and at work. When I had Outlook 2000, I was able to copy my .pst file to my thumbdrive and take it to my work computer thus keeping my file up to date. The process seems to work with 2002, however, when I try to access my email, Outlook 2002 keps asking me for the password to my accounts. I have to go into my account setup and re-enter the paswords every time. By the way, when I had Outlook 2000, I had Windows XP Pro on both machines. I now have Windows Vista on both new machines.     - Can't send/receive; extend.dat; other issues Outlook 2003 I don't know if these issues are related or not, but I am having trouble sending or receiving. The issues are sporadic. Sometimes nothing will send or receive, and exiting and restarting the program fixes the problem. I also sometimes get the error that Outlook was not closed properly and it runs the scan of the folders, even though I did close Outlook properly. Finally, I sometimes get the message that the extend.dat file didn't initialize. Outlook seems to work ok nonetheless, but I usually restart just in case, and the error message does not come up the second time. Like I said, I don't know if these issues are related, and they don't necessarily happen at the same time. I have run detect and repair several times, but this does not correct the errors. On clicking reply, the program takes a long time to react and then tells me that it cannot use Word as the editor because it is either busy or cannot be found .. and will revert to using its own Outlook editor. Often I will then get various messages about changes to the normal.dot template and Outlook has to be closed and restarted .. sometimes a reboot is necessary .. before it will function normally, replying using Word to every other e-mail apart from the Hotmail account ones.     - Edit outgoing attachment without saving it Apparently in Outlook 2000 users could attach a TIF file, open it, annotate it, save the changes to the document right in the e-mail and send it along. When they try that in Outlook 2003/2007 they're prompted to save the file to a location on the hard disk which forces them to re-attach the edited document and then send it along. These files are temporary in nature and really only need to exist in e-mail so saving them to the local machine is a needless step. Is there any way to get back to the 2000 behavior?     - Outlook Express 6.0 - deleted in-box messages All of my email incoming messages from yesterday back 6 1/2 months to November suddenly disappeared from sight last night. No similar delections from sent or deleted messages. They don't show up in my delete file.     - Calendar Screen tips? I am currently using Outlook 2003. When I set up a meeting and go to the scheduling tab, some attendees I can hover the mouse over and the attendees appointments for the day will pop up and you can see their agenda for the day.     - Adding Field with unlimited space in Outlook` Hi, I have created a merge letter in Word and am extracting information from my Outlook Contacts for the letter. My question is this: Is there a way I can create a "new" field with "UNLIMITED" space where I can enter quite a bit of information i.e., in my case - all specific jobs a contact has worked on? I would thenpull information from that "unlimited field" to merge into my letter in Word. I tried using "user field" but only have the capability of using 107 characters and I need much more room.     - Outlook 2007 Can not change automatic download settings. I recently upgraded to Office 2007. In Outlook, when I receive emails that have embedded graphics, the graphics have the red X through them. I can download the pictures my right clicking and selecting download or by clicking on the message bar at the top and selecting download pictures. However, I would like Outlook to automatically download the pictures. When I go into trust center and automatic download, "Dont download pictures automaticall in HTML emails" is checked off AND it is GRAYED out so I can not change it.     - View Mail and (Calendar or Contacts) simultaneously I regularly want to look at my email and either contacts or calendar (a whole month worth) simultaneously. Can that be done? I have two monitors so plenty of screen real estate. Even quick switching between the two is highly inconvenient. The only way I found is to use Microsoft Virtual PC and have another instance of XP running with Outlook there but that is also inconvenient. Is there a simpler way?     - Red X in the text box I have several workstations running both XPsp2 and Vista and all running IE7 that when I open Outlook Web Access and try to reply to an email, I get a red X in the box where the text would go. I have read several forums that say it is a security issue, an Exchange hotfix even missing add-ons but nothing I can find to fix the problem. When it did open, I tried to export (so I could back up), but a "Internal translation system error" came up. As of this week I no longer seem to be able to check my email messages (via Pop) or accounts for Gmail, Yahoo etc. through Outlook. One thing I noticed is when I navigate my inbox tree via the All Mail Folders "view", only mail folders are visible. The only parameter i found about it is in Tools > Confidentiality center > Security... read all message in plain text, and it's not checked.     - I get an error code Library not registered When I start my computer I get an erroe ... something about SQL Dumber & Library not registerd. I tried installing the send personally add in to outlook and now every action I perform , like new messages etc, I get an error code Library not registerd. Hi.

I'm trying to find information about how to access the Exchange Server using
SSMS.

Example:
I would to create a query that can give me a count for all undread mails.

How can I accomplish that? Not a real question :-)

- I there any books or website for this specific subject?
- What kind of dataprovider can one use? I have seen some code with oleDB.
- Can SSMS connect directly to the Exchange Server?

Any thoughts are welcome.
