Outlook 2003 - Open and Save As in Advanced Find are grayed out
I use the Journal in Outlook 2003 to keep track of my daily activities. Then
I use Advanced Find to reveiw them at the end of the week and log my time. I
had saved this search so all I had to do was open it and execute it.
Recently, I tried to open it, and it would not open and the Open and Save As

grayed out. Was there a change to Outlook 2003 that caused this? Or did a

searching a calendar
Hi All,
I have a weird problem with one users calendar.
When she searches it for a meeting that is in the calendar it only brings
back entries for 2007. If you do and advanced find it brings back all the
meetings past, present and future.
This is only happening to one user that I know of and she is using outlook
2003. I have ran through the normal stuff with /cleanfreebusy /cleanviews
/resetfolders etc and I have recreated the profile. None of these has made
any difference.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Disappearing emails in Outlook 2007
I've read previous posts on this problem but couldn't come up with any
solution to my problem. I use Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003 running on SBS
2003. I've set up my email to be delivered to Personal Folders. However,
all my Exchange email is not showing and when I go to check my Exchange
mailbox, there's nothing and when I go to "recover deleted items" I find all
email there. I tried to have my email delivered to my mailbox instead of
Personal Folders and it got worse as I sometimes see an email come in and
disappear before I even get the chance to open it. "Messages" is checked on
Current view and auto archive disabled. Anyone found a solution to this?

outlook 2003 reply problem
I have been trying to search for this problem, but keep coming up short with finding a solution. I have a user (just one) who's replys have recently acted funny. When sending a reply, the line separator turns into text, more specifically: size=2 width="100%" align=center tabindex=-1>
This only happens with replys, and AFTER the message has been sent. In other words, when he hits reply, the separator is there, but after the message is sent, both the sent items message and the receiving user sees size=2 width="100%" align=center tabindex=-1> instead of the separator.
This is using Outlook 2003 on an XP Pro machine. I have tried setting the message format as HTML, rich text, and plain text.

Style of folder assumed by outlook when selecting attachments
My Outlook has the annoying habit of assuming the folder style is a music
folder whenever I go to attach files to an e-mail message. This is the case
even when the folder that is opened is set up as a Document folder.
I can't find where this option is controlled.
I am using Outlook 2003, SP3 and Vista Home Premium with all recent updates
installed.
For example, if I open Outlook, create a new message, and click on the
paperclip to attach a file, the window that pops up is a file selection
window, but it's set up as if the folder was for storing music, with columns
for Name, Artist, Album, #, Genre, and Rating.
When I look at the folder normally through explorer, it shows the normal
document fields like Name, date modified, type, size, etc. If I look at the
properties of the folder, on the Customize tab is says to use the Documents
as the folder template.
Can anyone point me to the solution to this problem?
Thanks

Outlook 2007 RMS and IRM
According to MS Help information, the RMS Client is already installed in
Vista? A MS Office Outlook Team Blog had this offering:
"How do I set IRM permissions on a message I will be sending?
Open Outlook 2007 and compose a new mail message by clicking on the â??New
Mail Messageâ?? button.
Select the â??Do Not Forwardâ?? IRM restriction for the message. This can be
done by clicking on the Microsoft Office Button and then choosing Permission,
â??Do Not Forwardâ??. Alternatively this can be accessed by clicking on the
Permission button in the ribbon and then selecting the â??Do Not Forwardâ??
restriction.
If the Microsoft IRM add-on has not been installed on your machine, Outlook
2007 will prompt you to download the latest version of the Rights Management
Service (RMS) client software."

Removing RSS Feeds on install
Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading all our users from Office 2000/2003 to 2007.
We would like to disable all our users from using RSS Feeds. All I have read is that you can turn them off, but the users can add them in if they choose to.
Is there any way on install or on the Systems end to disable all users from using RSS Feeds?
On install we log in as the user and load up Outlook and choose NO to using RSS Feeds, but they can still go in and subscribe on their own.

Despatching mail with an alternative reply address.
Sorry if I have not put the header well.
I work a couple of days a month freelance for a company. I have an email
address there and that email is forwarded to my personal account at home,
that is not a problem. However when I want to reply to those emails a want
any replies to my reply to go to/through the company account and be
forwarded.
What I did was copy the settings for my presonal account (pop3, smpt etc.)
set up another email account in outlook called say "me company" and set the
reply address to me@company.com.
When I send and receive all emails are downloaded twice presumably because
outlook is downloading twice from my personal account, once for me once for
"me company".
Other than setting up a separate account and just using that for any emails
from "me company" is there a way round it. I don't need to download emails
from "me company" as they are already downloaded with my personal emails.
That is about as clear as mud isn't it but if you do understand and have
solution I would like to hear from you.

Not receiveing Bounce reports
Hi.
I was looking for some help and possible reasons and fix's for why I am not receiving reports from emails that bounce.
I have tested the accounts that I am sending emails from by sending to a working email address with a differnet domain and replied, so the accounts are fully working.
It just when I send an email to an account that will obviously throw a bounce reply to (this was done for testing, and one of the email address was, "mailto:iufhha9783f9anddqq@juu3rnufnvnvj.com"), it doesn't!
Any ideas why we are not getting any reports come back saying that there has been a bounce?

Outlook 2007 not responding
Help!
I am having problems with Outlook 2007 running on Vista Ultimate. The server is running Exchange 2003.
Frequently Outlook greys out and has (not responding) shown in the window title bar. This is generally also accompanied by send/ recieve status blocked at between 60 and 80% in the status bar.
If I run Outlook whilst unconnected to the network it seems happy and I have no problems. Although I can't send any emails.
This only started to happen 2 weeks ago.
I have installed SP1 for Office 2007, removed all add ins, detect and repaired, recreated the pst file.
Any ideas really appreciated.

Trouble adding picture to body of email
Well, I lied.....actually I am able to add the
picture in Outlook Express, but it fills the whole
durn screen. I ended up shrinking the file size
from about 1.5MB to 45KB and then shrank the
"canvas" size from 4X6 to 2X3 using Photoshop but
when I add the smaller image it still fills nearly
fills the entire screen and you have to "scroll
away" to see the whole file. The only way I can
reduce the size of image after I have inserted it
in my email note is to click on it and drag the
corners inward....but then it doesn't maintain
aspect ratio, and I have to "push" the top and or
bottom in and sorta guess at the the proper aspect
ratio just by "eyeballing" it. I can finally get
there by this "brute force" method, but there's
gotta be a better way. What step am I missing?
I have searched archives (via deja.com) but to no
avail.

Images issue
Hello ...
My outlook version is 2003, SP3
I'm currently using Salesforce to send out html templates to a group of
people (Recipients are using outlook 2003)
Some of them (including me) are able to view the images in the html email.
there's a small group of people who can only see the red x button in the
email even though they have already updated the Outlook settings to allow
automatic download of images (tools -> options -> security).
How can I go about resolving above such that they can view the images in
email content?
I also did a test by sending the same template to yahoo and gmail account
and the received emails look good.
Just to mention another point, when i first received the html email. the
images all appear good. However when i tried to forward this email out, the
images appear with an red x. Once i closed / cancelled the draft copy and go
back to my original email, the image now no longer appear. it will be
replaced with an X instead
When i tried to trigger a resend from salesforce again, the images (in all
the past emails) in outlook will all appear again.
Pls advise if there's some settings i'm missing out. and how can i go about
resolving this?
thanks!
