If you're using the "yahoo.com" or "yahoo.ca" domain, then you'll need a
paid Yahoo account or this add-in: http://ypopsemail.com/ . If you have a
paid Yahoo account, then consult Yahoo's help pages. It's all there. it
will be similar (but probably not identical) to this:

Am I missing something here? I'm assuming that this ypopse thing allows you to
retrieve email from a Yahoo account using a standard email client? If so, then I
can do this now via the account that I'm using for this post, or one or two
others that I'm using.

But then it is via the yahoo.com.au domain. Would the plain yahoo.com domain be
different?

What I'd like to see is a way to use IMAP with Yahoo. Gmail's implementation
totally stuffed up my Outlook mailbox configs when I tried it. Plus it wouldn't
retrieve mail from 3rd party email accounts. So I gave up on it.

I suspect the yahoo.com domain is different. It might be that yahoo.com.au
allows POP access directly. Check on the Yahoo Help pages.

As far as I know, Yahoo has no IMAP implementation.

It does. It's how I use the email address that's in this post and Agent. Gmail
does the same thing. Not sure about Hotmail or other web based email services.

Yes, I know. That's why I said "...I'd like to see..."
